Summary: Not James Bond, but for some he could be better
Review: If you've seen a James Bond movie then you know the plot. But their is a bit more than a plot to a movie, not much more, but some. The twist to incorporate a character like Xander Cage is interesting but not really well developed. Despite the problems there is plenty of action (the opening sequence is pretty funny) and the modernized punk heroized James Bond like Triple XXX is a good guy flick. Some, okay, most of the acting isn't great (especially the lead female and the villain), but the action is still pretty good. The wife in the couple we watched it with fell asleep; don't ask me how with all of the loud music.

Summary: Vin Diesel, savior of mindless action (good thing, for now).
Review: I didn't much care for The Fast and the Furious, but Vin Diesel's (and director Rob Cohen) follow-up film, XXX, is a blast. How much you enjoy the movie depends on how willing you are to stick with a Bond rip-off. Virtually everything about the movie is Bond-inspired; we have characters similar to M and Q, the maniacal villain, the sexy love interest, and the requisite battle between two opposing armies in the villain's fortress. If this all sounds like fun, then give the movie a shot. Otherwise, you've been warned.

Diesel stars as Xander Cage, a social rebel who's apprehended by a scar-faced government agent named Gibbons (Samuel L. Jackson). He makes a deal with Cage: pose undercover for him in Europe and all his debts to society are paid. With no other options, Cage agrees, becoming a secret agent out to stop an anarchic group headed by an extremist named Yorgi (Martin Csoka), who has plan to create worldwide chaos. Along for the ride is Yelena (Asia Argento), Yorgi's thoroughly unhappy girlfriend looking for a way out. You can bet it'll take major firepower for that to happen.

As far as Bond-inspired formulas go, XXX is only slightly less enjoyable than the underrated Mission: Impossible II, and with the exception of The World is Not Enough, it's better than every Bond film dating back to For Your Eyes Only. And it's funny I should say that because I was ready to bash the movie after the first hour, which is fairly weak and slow moving.

What's wrong with the first half, you might ask? That problem would be talk. There's too much expository dialogue and most of the details surrounding the villain's nefarious plan are completely unengaging. There's also the painful sense of "PG-13ifictation", what with the lack of profanity and nudity (not that it's needed, but a lot of it feels catered to teens). The big motorcycle chase through the Columbian drug field is bogged down by too much slow motion, and the Bond-inspired score is pretty lame (though it might grow on me over the years, depending on how successful the franchise is). The only genuinely fun segment in the first hour is the coffee diner scene, a nice little "test" that's cleverly executed and hilarious.

So it's not until the second half XXX really takes off. There's spectacular action and stunts galore; we get chases, fisticuffs, and gun battles, all of them slickly executed and exciting to watch. But the two best setpieces are saved for last; this includes the avalanche scene, a completely implausible but nonetheless exhilarating sequence that's convincing on a visual level. Best and most thrilling of all the action is the final chase, with Diesel and Argento on a souped-up car going after a doomsday device on the water. Kudos must go to Rob Cohen, who knows how to deliver the thrills without resorting to quick-cuts and MTV-style editing, a problem that's managed to affect even high-gloss Oscar bait like Gangs of New York.

Even with all the action, what makes the movie appealing is Vin Diesel's presence. With past action stars fading, he's taking up the reins, and while he's not quite as charismatic an action hero as Jason Statham (from The Transporter), he's every bit as cool. Asia Argento's role is sort of a throwaway, but she makes the most of it and she and Diesel share enough chemistry to make for a likeable pair. I hear both actors are coming back for the sequel, as well as Jackson, and I for one am looking forward to it.

Summary: Triple Disaster
Review: This is the worst action movie ever. This is my first DVD that I had that I was so bored. That I wanted to take my DVD movie and break it to a million pieces. Save your money get something else.

Summary: Surprisingly entertaining
Review: Well, it's not James Bond, it's more like James Bond meets Xtreme sports, X-Gener. You've got the secret agent Xander (Van Diesel), the M equivalent in Samuel L. Jackson, a cranky gadget geek, a very evil man out to destroy civilization as we know it, a love interest, but I couldn't find the equivalent of Miss Moneypenny. Instead of a Euro sportscar like a Astin or a BMW, Xander settles for a GTO (fully equipped, if you know what I mean!) Unlike Bond, Xander is, at least at first, a reluctant hero. But he seems to get over that quickly and takes the whole gig as just another Xtreme sports ride.

It also has enough over the top stunts to make stunt coordinators on future releases wonder how they're going to top this.

Yes, this movie blatantly rips off the style and elements of the James Bond genre, but it infuses it with its own character and the result is surprisingly good. Hey, I'll watch a sequel.

Summary: Over the top ............. but still entertaining.
Review: I know it's quite unbelievable at times, and even somewhat hard to even watch with a straight face considering the garbage they try to pull. But if you watch this with an open mind, and know that going in it's over the top, it's not that bad. I bought it, I'd watch it again.
Constant action and useless show-boating just add to the entertainment value. I especially got a laugh during a scene where Xander (Vin Diesel) shoots a man while performing a jump on a motorcycle. If this scene was suppossed to be taken seriously, I'm sorry - I can't do it. It was too funny for me to even consider being serious about it. So if you watch the film with that mindset, you'll enjoy it. Just don't go expecting James Bond or anything.

Summary: worst movie EVER
Review: this movie was so amazingly bad, i valued my time back more than the money i spent to see it. Nothing made sense, and after the first 10 minutes, i didn't care anyway, vin diesel's worst movie without a shadow of a doubt

Summary: Just Bad
Review: I will make it short, about half way through the movie I turned it off. Probably one of the worst movies I have ever watched in my life. I didn't expect much from the acting to begin with, but it was worse than I could have imagined. Let's just say, I hope this is the last of this franchise.

Summary: XXX
Review: I found Triple X to be very action packed and quite exciting. Any person fond of crazy special effects and just good ol' fun will like this one. Though i don't think it's Vin Diesel's best performance, it doesn't make any difference. The other characters are just as enthralling as him. For an even better Vin Diesel flick, check out "Pitch Black."

Summary: Great Special Effects, Not very believable.
Review: Vin Diesel is a daredevil that has a choice, either go to jail or help the NSA foil the plan of Anarchy 99', a group of Russian turned anarchists that are planning on destroying the world. Diesel performed excellent in his role in this movie. Nonetheless this movie got 3 stars from me because the actions scenes, though they had great special effects were very ridiculous. In one scene he snowboards faster then expensive snowmobiles that can travel 100mph while being chased by an avalanche. He then jumps and grabs on to a power line which holds up to an avalanche that just knocked down buildings. I mean, come on. If your just looking for an action packed movie and don't care how out of this world the stunts are then this movie is for you. But if your tired of Bond movies then I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

Summary: X, X, X...Vin, Vin, Vin
Review: The man makes the movie. No question about it. Although they had the money, and the energy, and able scriptwriters. This combined to produce a formulaic action thriller with a twist of wry comedy that harkens back to: DID EVERYONE SAY BOND ALL AT ONCE???

But without Vin Diesel, who actually is a very good actor ("The Boiler Room","Saving Private Ryan") they don't got much ado about nuthin, here. Just another movie with Prague in it (holy cow, am I sick of Prague after the tour I got with Chris Rock in HIS most recent movie) and a big pile of snow.

I love Vin. He is cute, I love his stomach--it doesn't look too much like he works out relentlessly as much as it looks like he just sort of is meant to look like he does...he has a great voice, kids and men can like him too, he does his job cheerfully, and he is believable.

That is, if you are buying the bill of goods he is paid to sell.

Here's MY Money...:)
