Summary: Good, but not great
Review: Good flick and just as enjoyable as the first. One scene really bothers me though. After Riggs and his new lady are almost gunned down at his trailer, she acts hysterical for about 2 seconds in his truck. In the next sequence, however, we see them making out in front of her apartment and acting all lovey-dovey. Man, she sure got over almost being killed quickly. Someone explain this, please. Don't get me wrong, I still really like this flick. 3 1/2 stars

Summary: good action, laughable South Africans
Review: Great action movie.I liked the introduction of Leo Getz. However,as a genuine South African,I must say that the accents used by the baddies were appalling (more Dutch and British than South African)- except of course for Joss Ackland, who is also a genuine South African. I'd also like to point out that not all white South Africans are racists. In actual fact, it was strictly forbidden for anyone belonging to the international Diplomatic Corps to EVER use derogatory terms against blacks, even in the worst days of apartheid

Summary: "Gonna die on the toilet, ain't I?"
Review: Guys like Danny Glover don't die on toilets in the Lethal movies because it wouldn't be the same without him and Mel Gibson! The boys come back for another round in this excellent sequel! When you bring in the comic relief of Joe Pesci as Leo Getz ("Whatever you need, Leo gets! Get it?"), and some nasty South African Diplomats hiding behind Diplomatic Immunity, then you got a very good "Weapon" which really does top the first movie! Mel and Danny have really good chemistry together, and that shows out a lot with their portrayals of Riggs and Murtaugh! However, the movie can have it's really dark-sides (in terms of what happens to Patsy Kinset's character) that really make you sore! However, moments like this in the movie later become justified, and you can't wait for the 2 wacky cops to come back for another sequel! A really great movie alltogether!

Summary: HAHA
Review: HAHA, this movie made me laugh the whole way through it. I loved the comedy mixed w/action just like Lethal Weapon 4. I've seen every one except the third one and i'm planning to watch that one soon. I love the camaraderie between Riggs and Murtaugh. The addition w/Joe Pesci (Leo Getz) was a great movement in the progress in the Lethal Weapon series. I think this is one example of a sequel that outruns the first one. The first one had to set the pace and there was more emotions involved w/Mel Gibson and everything. In Lethal Weapon II Joe P. adds to the comedy and makes the ensemble more like a family. You can tell how they get along on the cast that they did that back stage too. The chemistry between them is incredible and it makes the movie more enjoyable. I give this movie five stars.

Summary: DTS Soundtrack Unimpressive
Review: I am a fan of the "Lethal Weapon" series as well as DTS soundtracks. In fact, when I learned that this movie was to be released in DTS, I waited to make my purchase. However, after viewing the DVD I was left dissapointed by the sound quality it delivered. There are very few low frequency effects, and the rear speakers are often underutilized. Much of the dialogue is stationed in the center channel alone, and ADR processing is easily detected. It seems that the movie's musical score is the only sound element that uses available speakers appropriately. Perhaps, the fact that "Lethal Weapon 2" was not originally recorded in DTS has a great deal to do with the soundtrack's limitations. Regardless, I am not pleased with the quality Warner Brothers and DTS offeres with this title.

Summary: This was great.
Review: I have the movie on laserdisc but I still had to buy it on DVD. It is a funny movie with a lot of great action. Mel Gibson is great in the movie.

Summary: why is the director's cut only on VHS?
Review: I loved the first and second of this series; the third was like a bad Starsky & Hutch episode and the fourth was pretty good. I know there are director's cuts available on VHS; will someone please tell me why the director's cuts are only on VHS?

Summary: Dare I say, the best in the series?
Review: If you liked the first Lethal Weapon, you'll LOVE Lethal Weapon 2. There's more action, more drama, and the acting and plot is so much better and the villians are so much more fun to hate. This movie is so excessive, especially considering the punishment Gibson went through in the last 20 minutes of this film. The plot gets thicker and Gibson gets angrier when he finds out more to the story of what really happened to his wife. Danny Glover is still great, I'm sorry, but you HAVE to love the toilet scene. The bond between these two is tighter than ever and you can feel a real closeness both onscreen and offscreen. The entry of Joe Pesci is hilarious. Some people find him annoying, but I thought he was great with all his complaining about getting the wrong fast food. Very well written and a lot of build up to the end. I don't see how anyone couldn't love this movie. Beware of the "Rubber Tree!"
