Summary: Fairy Tales Live!
Review: I own the video on three vhs tapes, ordered from through the television. I thoroughly enjoy it every time I watch it. Scott Cohen is one of the most talented and versitile actors I've seen in a long time, and I look forward to seeing more of his work- especially in any future 10th kingdom projects.

Summary: Great movie, okay DVD.
Review: The 10th Kingdom is a truly epic fantasy story, coupling a wonderfulscript with good acting, beautiful scenery, and lovely specialeffects. It may be seven hours (417 minutes) long, but it never getsdull. It's fantastic, over the top, and even silly at times, but ifyou have a taste for fairy tales, this is not to be missed. ScottCohen does an incredible job of portraying Wolf, as does DanielLapaine as the dog turned prince (and the dog plays well, too), andall the other actors do a very memorable job. And of course it neverhurts to have a cute leading lady such as Kimberly Williams :) Thetransformation of New York to a fantasy kingdom in the opening titlesis one of the most incredible scenes I've ever seen.

I've hadproblems playing this DVD smoothly on my computer, even whenoverclocking my Celeron 300A to 450MHz, and coupled with an ATIXPERT@Play 98, which supports motion compensation. This is certainlythe most demanding DVD I've ever played. It does pay you back withvery good image quality. Sound is only 2.0 Dolby Surround (which isfine by me, since I only have stereo speakers). My sound system isn'tthat good, so I can't really comment on the quality of the sound, butit was clear enough for me.

The movie comes on 3 DVDsides. "Disc A" includes 166 minutes plus the specialfeatures - a "making of" featurette, which also includes acouple of bloopers, and textual features about the actors, charactersand the 9 kingdoms. "Disc B" (the other side of A) says itcontains 84 minutes, and "Disc C" 167 minutes. However, Ithink that these figures must be switched. Haven't really measured thetimes, but I think that C was shorter than 2.5 hours, and it certainlycontains less data than B, when viewed in Windows.

I thought that itwould have been better to split the DVDs such that the movie is onjust two sides, and leave the special features on the 2nd DVD, ifnecessary (although I don't think it's necessary). This is not a majorcomplaint, however, as you're not likely to see this movie in onesitting, anyway, and I guess that it makes some sense to break it into83 minute episodes (which may be the way it was originallyaired).

My biggest complaint is the lack of subtitles. The movie isclosed captioned, but I much prefer subtitles. For one thing, my DVDplayer doesn't support closed captioning. The other thing is thatsubtitles look better. Since the text is available, it shouldn't havebeen too much of a problem to add subtitles. I find subtitles veryhelpful in understanding what the actors are saying. Still, thisdoesn't detract much from what is a very good movie.

Summary: Movie was great - but HELP is DVD full version?
Review: Best Movie Ever!

I have already seen the VHS versions - the one tape version and then the 2 tape set. They do not compair at all to the full TV version - there were to many scenes cut out of my beloved movie.

Ive noticed the DVD is longer. I could not find in anybodys reviews if they found the DVD to be the true Full Telivision Version. Some one who knows the full TV version(practally by heart)PLEASE let me know. Please email me zaahzu@yahoo.com

Summary: The Best Movie of all time
Review: This movie is the best movie of all time. I am a fan 100% and I think it's great. The person I think played the best role is Dianne Weist. She played the greatest role as Queen. This movie is a very good movie because it envolves fairy tales and Magic Mirrors and those really attract me in this movie. I love it and I have the soundtrack, 1 tape movie and the book and 1 million pictures. Another movie I have to recomend is Alice In Wonderland(the people version with Whoppi Goldberg). That is cool but this movie is the best you could ever own and I would rate it 1 million stars.

Summary: Our Kids can not get enough of The 10th Kingdom!
Review: This is a great children's story about what happened to all of the Fairy Tale characters. Even though it's eight hours long, the story is interesting enough to our 5 and 8 year olds that they stay glued to the TV. It's also interesting enough that adults will stay interested... if you can sit through it all. This movie was priceless on a summer road trip this year. The kids watched intently for hours.

Summary: An Incredible Barrage of Eye Candy and Charm
Review: If you love fantasy, fairy tales, and happy ever after, this is an absolute must see! The only draw back may be the length of this movie, but since it was made as a mini series there is never a dull moment. Filled with laughs, love and the occasional tears, this is one movie which should be in every fiction-lover's video collection.

Summary: FANTASY FANTASTIC!
Review: This movie takes you to a world not far from our own. It keeps you wondering what's going to happen next and to whom? When my family watched it together on television we knew that we had to have it. It's extremely funny in parts and made us feel sad in others. With Virginia and Wolf at the end there must be a sequel to come. Enjoy. This is a very entertaining movie. If you were born in the 60's you'll love it even more.

Summary: Rainy day or out sick movie.
Review: Epic 10-hour multiple DVD, can and should be enjoyed at one's leisure. Sit back and let it cast its magical spell. Kimberly Williams was enchanting as Virginia and the all star cast including the Troll King (Ed O'Neill) were magically spellbinding. I was out sick for a week and ordered this rush next day. I woke to a knock on my door, opened the package and forgot I was sick for 120 minutes. I had to get up and insert the next CD. This movie was better than any drug to kill pain! I forgot where I was, the movie transported me to... well somewhere I was not sick or in pain!

Summary: If you like fantasy adventures, this is a nice middle ground
Review: Decent family fun, a little violent in some scenes, so it is not for the too young, the violence is of the graphic variety, not so much in the action of others. Such as showing crossbow bolts in peoples chests, with blood stains up close.

I never had a chance to watch it on tv, as it was too long. However, being able to watch it without commercials is great and at my own pace. The locations and scenery are beautiful and help to transfer you into the dream world. Special effects are not too bad, sound and acting is good.

The nice part is the story is familiar as you delve into the world of snow white, cinderella, et al after 200 hundred years.

Unlike most movies that can max out after 2ish hours, this leaves plenty of enjoyment and keeps giving where a conventional movie would stop, and since it is so long in running time, allows for great character development, like a good book.

Well recomended for people who like movies such as ladyhawk, princess bride, conan and the like.

Summary: The Tenth Kingdom
Review: My sister borrowed "T10thK" from a friend of hers. She started watching it although I never really saw all at first but just a few parts. I watched it later with her I loved it! I loved the fact that it made fairyland life true! I was most intrigued by the character "Wolf". He was so charming and hansom. I love romantic stories and this show sure had some. The queen was very amusing and so was Prince Wendel. I read the book and it was fantastic so I recomend others to read it also! I find that the mirror communication parts were very clever. I loved the different towns and if you want to go to their main site it is http://www.thetenthkingdom.com or is it http://www.the10thkingdom.com (I really can't remember, you can try both) Well anyway to wrap this up, the movie was fabulous and charming the whole way through. I was never really offended by language as a man stated in his review, for I belive there wasn't any swear words! I recomend this movie to teenagers and young adults. Adults and children might admire it too though.
