Summary: Dark, brooding, intelligent series
Review: This is nothing like the Arnold movie, which is good because I thought that one stunk. It is instead the pilot for an excelent series that takes place in a crowded, dirty, emotionally barren city where you never see the ground or daylight. I am not sure how well this stands on its own, as I had seen many episodes before I saw the pilot, but I am a big fan of the series as a whole. Cyndy Preston, the actress that plays Hume's wife, does not do a good job in this episode, but gets a better later.

Summary: Way underrated
Review: This starts out pretty well but then it gets really lame in the middle. The writing and special effects just get really lame and you don't care about the plot at the end.

I bought this because I like Michael Easton. I am glad to see that he went on to better movies and shows because this "Total Recall" makes you want to have a "Total Refund" of your money.

Summary: Best Show of the 90s
Review: Very depressing that only these two shows have been released. Showtime killed a great show, as usual. More Bladerunner than Total Recall, but draws from several of Dick's books/stories. There is a touch of asimov thrown in. The 22 episode series is better than any other released during the 1990s.

This pilot introduces the characters and the dark, gritty world. This show won several awards for its set design and special effects--they are well deserved.

Summary: covered ground.
Review: Want Sci-Fi action and adventure? Want a plot about companies messing with your mind? Wamt facsinating scenes of Mars? Well you'll find it all here, and all taken directly from Total Recall, but this movie isn't as good as it's namesake.

Yeah, all five sconds of the scenery on Mars is borrowed directly from Arnolds action packed adventure. What's more, after seeing the mysterious VTOL looking craft (Same as in TOTAL RECALL) go into a bunker, you get to see inside the bunker, where our passenger disembark from what looks like a Mercury landing capsule!

OK, other intersting point, there was no reason whatsoeever for the movie to have set that scene on Mars. It could just as well have happened in Nevada, or Brazil, or even downtown London.

There is one original feature, that is the Androids, which the movie supposedly is all about. Odd, these cyborgs all bleed milk and noodles like the ones in Alien...

Of course, there is the scene of gratuitous nuduty in the beginning, but if that's what you look for in a movie, you probably aren't too interested in Sci-Fi.

Summary: Don't even rent!
Review: We have the basic premise of a good cop setting out to revenge the death of his partner and uncovering an even more sinister plot. Unfortunately it is as cliche as it sounds.

If you enjoy every predictable movie line ever written then this is a movie for you. It is filled with characters that the story line gives you little reason to care about, but yet the ominous attempt at dialog would have you have you believe there is great meaning to every word. I'm sorry I even rented it. I'm certainly glad I didn't buy it! The photography is reminiscent of Blade Runner and had the script not been do bad it might have been a good movie. I'm surprised the actors got throught it with a straight face.

This is truly a bad movie.

Summary: This movie is BAD!
Review: What can I say ... the acting is poor, the sound is weak, the video is only fair, the plot and action scenes are bad ... I rented this movie because I'm a huge fan of the original Total Recall. This movie should not be allowed to even carry the Total Recall name; it is without a doubt the worst Sci-fi movie I've watched in a long, long time.

Don't waste your hard-earned $.

p.s.

I was forced to put at least one star on this movie; but it's really a zero.
