Summary: Lake Sarcastic
Review: You must see this movie, if for nothing else other than the sarcasm. This movie is loaded with it from the very beginnig diver boating scene. I love these types of movies, It's a chompum' up movie that doesn't take itself serious. Of course it's about a giant alligator so someone has to get chomped, but the movie brings you right back to laughter with a moment of sarcasm. Check this one out, you'll begin to laugh even when people are being chomped. The only downside is it's a bit short for todays movie length standards.

Summary: You must be kidding
Review: Having just read reviews of this movie which use the words, "brilliant", and "funny", I felt that I must comment. This is an apallingly movie. It is brilliant if you enjoy movies with no plot or substance. Do you like to know about twenty minutes in advance exactly what is going to happen in a film? Great! Buy it! It is funny if you are a fan of hearing the same stupid jokes that have been used again and again in other terrible movies. Do you like to see extremely fake looking reptiles swimming around biting off heads? How about second rate actors who have three facial expressions that they seem to feel work for all occaisons? If so, then this one's for you. Sorry to be so vehement but I would hate for anyone to waste their money based on the comments presented here. Trust me - this movie is not worth the three dollars it takes to rent it on video.

Summary: An Excellent movie
Review: Film critics can bash this movie all they want. This was a comedy, and an educational movie on crocodiles. A superb cast put out a quality movie. Platt, Pullman, and Fonda all were exceptional. The movie could've gone longer, maybe revealed the croc's habitat a little more, but overall i give it a 8.5/10

Summary: Great for the genre!
Review: This movie really filled the bill in this CGI 'beast on the loose' genre we've be seeing more of latley. I found it to be more solidly entertaining than Anaconda with dialouge and acting a far cry above that of Deep Blue Sea. Convincing graphics, great outdoor scenery and a wondeful subtle humor make for a pleasing viewing experience. Two thumbs up!

Summary: Surprisingly Good movie
Review: OK, I wasn't expecting anything either, but what I got was one of the funniest movies I've seen in months! Everyone involved in this film knew it was ridiculous, so they went the extra mile to make it worth seeing. Excellent character interaction saves the day. (and a foul-mouthed Betty White is worth the movie alone!) Corman-esque ? yes. But a refreshing surprise!

Summary: So silly its a pleasure
Review: Take "Anaconda" and "Ally McBeal" and you get "Lake Placid"... Neither horror movie, nor sitcom, this hilarous movie is a great entertainment for anyone who just want to have a good time in front of the TV screen... Funny dialogues and good special effects make this movie really great... Only thing that is regrettable in my humble opinion is that the movie lasts only approx. 80 minutes. Might be enough for a DVD feature, but if had seen it in a theatre I would have been disappointed...

Summary: FUNtastic
Review: Been waiting years for a decent jaws style film? Deep Blue Sea wasn't quite your thing? Then this could be just what you've been waiting for. A fast paced creature feature which has it all: great characters, fun plot (not totally unfeasable)with some teasing twists. The effects are stunning and the DVD transfer is fantastic; a sharp picture with an awesome dolby 5.1 sound track. However, a word of warning to hard core gore fans, this film is built more around "jumpiness" than visual blood and guts, not to say that the film doesn't have its gorier moments. Overall this is a funny, light hearted approach which should be enjoyed by anybody who doesn't take life too seriously.

Summary: Funnier than it is scary...
Review: "Lake Placid" is a campy thriller that features a 30-foot crocodile that terrorizes a small town in Maine. Bridget Fonda's hilarious neurotic character and Betty White's comic performance as a bad-mouthed old woman are the highlights of this film. There is some really funny dialogue, but hardly scary fright scenes. Overall, it's a pretty good movie.

Summary: Well, not a classic...
Review: This is one of the silliest movies I've ever seen; however, Betty White is hilarious, and it's worth a watch just to hear her cuss. ;-)

Summary: what was that?
Review: I watched this movie on Pay Perview last night and boy am I glad I didn't buy it. This movie is neither fish nor meat. A sorry attempt to be a spoof maybe? Poor dialogue throughout. Not remotely funny, not scary...it's just nothing trying to be something. I am not even talking about the unlikelyhood of an aligator ending up in Maine, I could live with that improbability, I am not proud :-). The two stars I am giving are for Betty White and the gator. The effects are pretty good and there were one or two scenes that made me jump but that is all I got out of it. Rent it...save your money.
