Summary: Spectacular Film!
Review: "The Last of the Mohicans" is a stunning example of fine film-making. The cast, especially Eric Schweig, Russell Means and Daniel Day-Lewis, deserve incredible applause for bringing the characters of Uncas, Chingachgook, and Hawkeye to life with grace and poise. Acting, direction, score . . . all contribute to making this a wonderful film which deserves to be a part of anyone's permanent collection.

Summary: Wow
Review: Okay, girls. Let's admit it. Daniel Day Lewis is beyond sexy in this film and the romantic scenes actually make my heart skip a beat. A great kiss. One of the best on screen. And guys, there's plenty of gruesome violent scenes to keep you happy. Every time I watch it, I appreciate its complexity more and more. When I was a kid and read the Natty Bumppo books, it was never like this!

Summary: One of the Greatest Movies Ever Created
Review: This movie has always been a top one for me. I have to say that the best part of it all is the score. Nothing has ever come close to it. The acting is amazing. Day Lewis gives a very concincing performance. As does the actor who played Magua. The only Minor flaw is the script could have used some sharpening as sometimes. However the screenplay is excellent (they are different things). The action is the most fun to watch. The score creates such a depressing atmosphere that you just want to stop the movie and take in life! All in all. This is an almost perfect movie. I would give it a very deserving 10/10!

Summary: This movie has it all
Review: This is my all time favorite movie. Fabulous cinematography, one of the most powerful scores ever, passion and chemistry between all of the characters, you can't help but be drawn in. I can watch this film a thousand times and cry at the end each time. Hawkeye and Cora have to be two of the most romantic characters ever. Enjoy

Summary: Best film ever
Review: In my opinion, this is the best movie ever made. It is the best story that any movie has ever had. (Star Wars is the second best) and as much as I adore Star Wars, even that can't compare to the masterpiece that is this film. The book is even better. Every thing about this film is fantastic; the actors, the score, the cienamatography, averything. I hope this review will be helpfull.

Summary: Removal of Clannad music ruins the experience
Review: I love this film on VHS, but director Michael Mann has removed from the Director's Expanded Edition DVD, the fabulous piece by Clannad, "I Will Find You." That's the number that gets your heart racing as Hawkeye climbs up mountainsides to rescue Cora. Why Mr. Mann did this is a mystery, but he surely did lower the overall entertainment experience of watching this DVD. They should call it the Director's Diminished Edition.

Summary: It gets better each time I see it.
Review: I like the mood, the acting, the dialogue and I even like some of the near prank stunts, like when Day-Lewis as Natty Bumpo jumps down the waterfall. Madeleine Stowe, in one of her better parts, acts wonderfully in her understated role as the daughter of the ill-fated British General Monroe. The scenery is beautiful and the soundtrack is superb.

Summary: Colonial Warfare
Review: An excellent portrayel of the French and Indian War and the native troops that fought in it. Even though the DVD and directors cut seemed to be a big let down, the original stands firm as one of the greatest action films of all time, not to mention being historically accurate. This film should be viewed by history buffs and action lovers alike.

Summary: Great version - flawed DVD
Review: This version is less like a music-video and more like a real movie. It is a matter of taste, ofcouse, which you prefer; personaly I like this one better. The movie is still visualy impressive and still has a more agressive scrore than most movies, but the characters have more room to breathe.

Gone are also some of Lewis' 'smart' oneliners, which is probably the biggest single improvement.

I had no problems playing this DVD on my computers DVD-drive (as others report to have had), but the DVD *is* flawed. (See the other reviews for details). But even so, it is still good entertainment.
