Summary: Great movie, great quality, terrible DVD
Review: When will all the cross-promotional mega-corporate tie-in nonsense stop? I loved the movie and was excited to get it on DVD with all the extras. But I'm appalled at being forced to go through their ads every time I insert the disc. This is pathetic. What's next? Will we be forced to watch text crawl at the bottom of the screen during the movie, touting whatever Disney Incorporated wants us to buy? Or will they insert obligatory commercials during the show?

Even though the quality is top-notch, I can't recommend this DVD. And until the powers-that-be at Disney reign in their arrogance and abusive behavior, I will refuse to buy another Disney DVD release (or any DVD from any studio that wastes my time with this nonsense).

Summary: Loved the Movie - Hated the Ads
Review: I would have given this movie 5 stars were it not for the barrage of ads at the beginning of the DVD. Shame on Disney.

Summary: FORCED-VIEWING ADS ARE SLAP IN THE FACE!
Review: Good, typical Disney animation, music, etc. However, I DETEST PAYING FOR ADVERTISING! ESPECIALLY FORCED-VIEWING ADS (yes, "forced-viewing" is a specific and often-used term in the marketing world.) I paid for a movie, not advertising. Same reason I do not buy and wear clothing with company/brand names amblazoned across them and become a walking billboard. What an idea! Pay someone to advertise FOR them. They should compensate ME to wear/view their advertising, whether it be on clothing, in the movie theatre (Coke ads in particular - hate 'em), on DVD, on the grocery store floor, every inch of NASCAR, rounding the courts at sporting events, and on and on and on. Advertisers/marketers: wise-up; forced-viewing is only estranging the very audience you're trying to reach. Tread gently. We don't mind being informed of a product, we just do not like having it forced down our throats. And coming from a "trusted" name as Disney only serves to lower respect for the overall Disney image. FOOTNOTE: The ads on the Tarzan DVD are obviously targeted to young children who will not fast-forward past them, but after several times watching them be will be begging for these products, too. Disney marketers PREYING (yes, I mean that) on our young children. Can you say "Saturday morning cartoon zombies"?

Summary: AVOID THIS!
Review: This is the most disgusting use of forced advertisement I have ever seen in my life! Disney forces you to sit through **4** minutes.. *_4_* minutes of babble about thier website and other movies. I am returning this and getting the VHS version. My children want to be subjected to Tarzan, not the Disney marketing machine.

Summary: I returned it.
Review: I could almost put up with the poor audio... but the trailers were too much so I returned the video.

I won't put up with this practice and neither should you. Send Disney a message and return your DVD.

Summary: Disney's ham-fisted marketing RUINS this DVD
Review: If you don't like being maniuplated by Disney, which forces you to sit through an endless stream of promotional garbage, then AVOID this DVD. Paying for this will only encourage other studios to start treating their customers like sheep who can be forced to watch anything in the name of "marketing."

Summary: My favourite Disney...
Review: I didn't expect much from Tarzan when I went to see it, but I was exceedingly surprised. I now own it and my son and I watch it regularly. The story is deep, the characters are real, and it's all around just VERY good.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: The movie is great for younger kids
Review: Tarzan the movie was a really wonderfully done movie, all except for the fact that it is nothing like Edgar Rice Burrough's book. If you are looking for a video for kids it is a really neat. If you have read the Edgar Rice Burroghs series you will see what I mean. I suggest to get the full understanding you should read the first two Tarzan books, but a warning it is very descriptive and I think the second tarzan book is out of print so it may be hard to find

Summary: King Of the Jungle
Review: Easily one of the best animated movies i ahve seen in along time. In the latest retelling of Tarzan is one of high quality. All the magic is back in top form that was lost from the lame

Tarzan And The Lost City. Walt Disney takes no chances with this movie. The remarkable look of the movie is credited to the animation due to a new technology called Deep Canvas to give the jungle layered look. The voices are nicely supplied by Tony Goldwyn who voices Tarzan the great Minnie Driver does the voice for Jane really have good chemistry. All the usual sidekicks are here but always have a perfect timing for comic relief never over bearing. Rosie O' Donnell does the voice of a rambunctious little ape named Turk is very funny. The music is composed by Mark Mancinia and the songs are done with gusto by Phil Collins whith all of the songs being sung by him not the side kicks. With thrilling tree top action and moving drama this Tarzan is sure to keep you watching till the very end. Edgar Rice Burroughs would be pround with this telling of the king of the jungle

Summary: Absolutely wonderful
Review: I didn't think Tarzan was going to be be good just from watching the commercials. After a friend talked me into going to see it this past summer, I am quick to admit that I was wrong. I thought this was one of the best Disney cartoons in years. the villians were actually realistic and Tarzan even tried to save the villian from himself. A little bit too scary and too viloent at times, but overall the second best Disney cartoon ever (I still haven't seen one that will top Sleeping Beauty).
