Summary: Good film but I want to see the uncut version
Review: The movie originally ran for 134 min. to a test audience in Southern California.Due to a lack of improvement,it was butchered down to a mere 89 min.Scenes were cut like Superman destroying a Nuclearman prototype and Superman responding to Jeremy s letter. This rare 134 min. version was once on the now defunct TV channel SFM Holiday Network in 1989.This version will tie up some loose ends and fill the plot holes.Hopefully,it will be re-release on VHS and DVD.

Summary: THE GREATEST SUPERMAN MOVIE EVER MADE. Top of the range
Review: Superman 4 The Quest For Peace is in my opinion the best in the series.I am glad to note that at least 2 people who reviewed this film liked it. I have watched this film at least 40 times so far over the past 12 years and it still thrills me. TO ME THIS IS THE BEST MOVIE EVER PERIOD !

If you're wondering what I have to say about the special effects well here goes::

Watch this film with your heart and as a TRUE Superman fan and not as a critic and I am sure that you will find this the best superman movie.

Summary: This Movie Was Horrible! One Of The Worst Ever Made!
Review: In fact, it deserves to be ridiculed on "Mystery Science Theater 3000". Of course, Superman and anyone who possesses his powers could go into outer space and do other extraordinary things, but 13 years after having first seen it, I still can't believe that Nuclear man was able to take the (human)Mariel Hemingway character into outer space with him. Not only did she not incinerate while escaping Earth's atmosphere, but she was able to breathe in outer space as well.

Guys, this movie was horrid. In fact, it makes the previous effort with Richard Pryor seem like great entertainment, and that's a shame as the first 2 films, particularly the second, were excellent. Many scenes (such as the ones involving the subway and Russian cosmonauts) have nothing to do with the film's plot, while others just don't make any sense. The film is full of movie flubs (just one example:when Superman is chasing Nuclear Man across the planet, it is daytime in America and China at the same time). This cartoonish movie can only appeal to the 7 and younger crowd. A disgraceful finale to what was once a great movie series. In fact, I seriously question the writing ability and education of the men who wrote it.

Where's General Zod when you need him?

Summary: I love all things "Superman" - except for this junk movie...
Review: Simply put, this is a horrible movie. Superman's desire to destroy the world's nuclear missiles is juvenile at best, grand theft larceny at worst. Little touches such as Superman actually talking in the vacuum of space and Superman repairing the Great Wall of China simply by looking at it made me want to sue the makers of this film. Other things such as Jon Cryer's vicious attack on the art of acting and Gene Hackman's absence of even one good line made me want to turn it off midway through, even though I'm a huge Superman fan. And don't even bring up Clark Kent's lurid implication toward the end that Mariel Hemmingway's character healed him with sex - what bad taste! Do yourself a favor and rent or buy the first Superman movie (which is a masterpiece) and pretend that no sequels to it - let alone this one - were ever made.

Summary: WORST FILM OF ALL TIME!
Review: I saw this film on television recently and it was the most frightening and disturbing experience of my life. By far the best horror masterpiece ever contrived. I am still suffering the after affects. This straightjacket is bloody tight!

Summary: POOR EFFECTS AND LAMENTABLE EDITING SINK IT; CGI RESTORATION
Review: The script for this third sequel is actually a good read, and imagining how it could have looked while reading it makes one cringe when seeing the final product. According to Jon Cryer(Lenny Luthor), the film was released before post-production even really was underway, so it's no wonder that the effects are so terrible. They aren't finished! They are in the film exactly as they looked on the sets, which is very fake(even Star Wars and Raiders would have looked phony if the post-production work was never completed). A CGI restoration would literally work a miracle. It would turn the worst film in the series into at least the third best, and if visually stunning, maybe the best(doubtful, but who knows). The actors are all good, and the basic story is clever. C'mon, Warners, do a CGI Restoration, and salvage this film! Give us a farewell to the Christopher Reeve series that we can be proud of, rather than one that makes us cringe!

Summary: Its better than number 3!
Review: The actions seen are the best out of all of them and the music is very good. It has had a lot of problems getting fans because of a lot of scenes were cut out. I have it in my collection and i reccomend it in yours.

Summary: Superman is no superman
Review: I really can't see how superman can be called superman in this movie. The whole moon scene with superman fighting nuclear man is totally one sided. Nuclear man totally knocks out superman 3 times on the moon. Once when he smashes supermans head into the rock. Another time when he strikes superman with 18 electric blasts and then when superman hurts his head when he flys into nuclear man allowing nuclear man to pick superman up over his head in a bench press style and hammer him into the dirt. Nuclear man also back hands superman many times during the movie totally knocking superman off his feet.
