Summary: I flew one of these things in the border wars.
Review: This is one of my all time favorite movies. It's not just the corny story line that I love it's the concept the America in the future. From dating to robot chicks to anarchy, to the border wars this movie has it all.
But I must say the DVD cover is atrocious. What were they thinking? E. Johnson never wore leather and her hair was never as fluffy. The cover makes this classic look like an X rated movie. I also wish that there were more features on the DVD but there was not really a demand for it.

Summary: A Classic of Camp
Review: This movie is just plain fun. It isn't great cinema, but it's fun. I credit the filmmakers with knowing the limitations of money & plot and settling for sheer glorious cheese value. You get middlin' acting from Melanie Griffith, who seems right for the part regardless. You've got Tim Thomerson, who is unparalleled in the world of b-movie science fiction and who always turn in a pitch-perfect performance. Pamela Gidley, better known to cult film fans as Teresa Banks from Fire Walk With Me, works her limited part as Cherry with aplomb. And Laurence Fishburn, with a bit part in this, used to be billed as Larry.

Summary: Buy it if you can find it.
Review: Well, I don't know if "I cried and told my friends about it", but this is one of the best of the Post-apocalyptic movies that were legion in the 80's. If we are ranking this movie against other movies in the same genre, this is a 5 star effort. (obviously, it's no Gone With The Wind) Melanie Griffiths is great in a fabulous role, tough and capable while still very sexy and vulnerable. Sooo nice to see a movie like this featuring someone who can act. I have watched and enjoyed it many times. But, then again, my favorite movie is Army of Darkness: The Medieval Dead...
