Summary: Okay, so it's not the original "Tokyo Toaster!"
Review: Perhaps "Jurassic Park III" would have been a more appropriate title for this film. After all, this Godzilla is more of a velociraptor with an overactive thyroid than the lovable beast of Japanese legend. Nonetheless, this is a fun film, highlighted by Jean Reno's coffee-slurping French secret-service agent. Mathew Broderick plays the lead with a very intelligent degree of understatement (since the plot stinks and the character is transparent), and avoids taking himself too seriously. There are a lot of good moments in this film and some hilariously inane dialogue ("I always wanted to join the French Foreign Legion!"), but it holds together well and gets better with repeated viewings. The Air Force turns Madison Square Garden into a giant western omelette, Godzilla outruns a flight of helicopters, and he seems to have trouble deciding just how big he really is. Still, the inconsistencies fade aware in the sheer fun of the chase and, after all, isn't that why we watch movies? It's not a classic, but its worth the price of admission (or purchase!).

Review: EXCELLENT GIA MALAKISMENA AMERIKANAKIA

Summary: Well done for an action film
Review: Godzilla is well done for what it is-an entertaining action adventure movie. It amazes me that this got a critcal drubbing and yet the awful Spielberg "lost World" film got undeserved good reviews(The "heros" of "the lost world" caused everyones deaths, stupid film!)I wish that they would make Fantasic Voyage like they had planned.

Summary: Good unpretentious, Drive-In fun
Review: An homage to 50's drive in schlock, with a dose of 90's FX. See it again. If you come to expect a Merchant Ivory production, you have no business watching any monster flick. The DVD has brimming features including the museum trailer not in the movie. Jean Reno kickes arse!

Summary: CAMERA-SHY, SIZE-SHIFTING KANGAROO-LIZARD
Review: EVEN ROGER EBERT AGREES: this movie stinks. I know that the "old" Godzilla was just a guy in a dinosaur suit, but I liked it! Now here's a monster that seems to change in size every scene. For exanple, in one scene it is only 50 feet tall(when it's taking the fish), and then it can use skyscrapers as stairs and can fill an entire subway tunnel. AND NOW THEY'RE MAKING A SEQUEL?!

Summary: Godzilla Goes High Tech; Viewers Stifle Yawns
Review: Frankly, we were all better off when Godzilla was clearly some guy in a rubber suit stomping miniture sets. While the original and its sequals may have been decidedly low-tech, they possessed a certain fun-ness which made them entertaining at worst-- something which all the millions poured into this film's special effects couldn't buy.

Summary: I agree with Brian Webber!
Review: I love Hank Azaria. He was the best thing in that movie. It was sad at the end, me and my friends staterd to cry when all the baby's died. It was a good movie! By the way, don't listen to all those one hitters. They wouldn't be able to find good movies (like me) if it bite them on the butt!

Summary: It was a good movie with good actors.
Review: It was a good movie and I liked all the actors. My favorite is Hank Azaria and he plays "Animal." All it's about is a giant lizard comes to nest (lay eggs) in New York. And the good guys have to stop it. My best friends brother fell in love with it and he said you can ask anybody and they'll say it was a good movie.

Summary: They are ruining the legend.
Review: Godzilla(1998) is the worst godzilla movie ever and is a disgrace to the real godzilla. One of the worst remakes of all time. Lacks the fun colorful campiness of some Godzilla flicks and the heart and true seriousness of others in the series. Also Godzilla doesn't look like godzilla he looks like regular Computer Geneated Crap! THE WORST REMAKE EVER MADE!!! Skip this and watch the rest.

Summary: Eh, I don't know what to say
Review: I mean it. I really don't know what to say. This movie had so much potential to be the best Godzilla movie ever made, but Devlin and Emmerich screwed around with it and made it into one of the worst G movies. The special effects are incredible, but that's it. Matt Broderick just doesn't look fascinated enough by the monster to make his reaction believable. And this is some of the worst acting and lamest one-liners I've ever seen in an action movie. And they used the classic Godzilla's roar!!! It just doesn't sound right coming out of a giant iguana. And the blowing up of Madison Square Garden looks like it was done last minute. But, just the fact that this movie had so much potential, but the that's all it was. Potential. The end effect is a bad movie with good special effects.
