Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not as great as the first two
Review: Even though I am the greatest Superman fan I had to give this movie 3 stars. Now the Superman movies are slowing down.Although I like movies that make me laugh this movie was going for cheap laughs. Now the Superman movies are turning to something that people say is just for kids.Christopher Reeve and Richard Pryor star in this movie.(I like the movie, but Superman 3 had too much comedy in it.)

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I love this movie, ir's much more enjoyable than I and II
Review: I really love this movie. In fact, I don't really like the firs two, they're too pompus, overblown and take themselves way too seriously. Marlon Brando as Jor-El, come on!! Are you trying to create a Godfather-epic out of the superman mythos, or something?!

Anyway, back to this movie, I think it's much more true to the spirit of the Superman comics. Comic books, after all, are about light-hearted, fun and colorful entertainment, that's part of their appeal, and this movie captures this aspect perfectly.

Fun and light-hearted, but never silly (apart from the Richard Pryor scenes), in ut's portrayal of Superman and his world. Especially the relationship with Lana Lang is heartwarming and touching.

Look away from the Richard Pryor silliness for a minute and you'll find the best portrayal of Superman and his world they've ever made!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Good for Reeve and Pryor fans
Review: As with all the other'superman' films i reviewed i also have this in my collection. Robert Vaughn is pretty good as the main villain. Richard Pryor gives a charming performance. Annette O'Toole is excellent in her portrayal of 'Lana Lang'. The best highlight of the film is seeing 'superman' going head-to-head against Pryor's super computer.

Summary: What on earth happened?
Review: What on earth happened between the first two excellent Superman films and this? As a comedy film this would get a higher rating, but it just doesn't belong in a series such as this.

The plot involves a computer programmer who is forced to do the evil bidding of a power-mad tycoon and soon creates the Ultimate Computer.

There are some genuinely good moments in this mess (Superman saving a young boy from being crushed by a combine harvester, Superman rescuing people from a chemical plant about to go critical, etc), but most of the film is just played for laughs and completely lacks the sense of awe, wonder and edge-of-seat tension of its precedessors. The scene in which the villains fire missiles at Superman whilst watching the results of their attacks on a video game screen is just too ridiculous for words, and the giant computer which is so intelligent that it turns into a megalomaniac is one of the oldest cliches in cinema history. Anyway, if the supercomputer is so smart then howcome it doesn't know about that acid becoming deadly when it heats up?

This is not a terrible film if watched for a laugh, but it's a mutilation of the Superman series. And add to that the fact recent video releases have been severely edited (the beginning credits and titles are going up through that 'hilarious' slapstick sequence at the start of the film and many other scenes are missing).

If you're a Superman fan then this is a no-no, a painful experience, but if you're a comedy fan then it might be worth a look.

Summary: Not the best, not the worst
Review: Superman III was a letdown from the prior two Super-movies, but it wasn't a total disappointment. If you somehow ignore the sequences with Robert Vaughn (not a terribly convincing villian) and Richard Pryor (funny, but not appropriate for a Superman movie), the rest makes for a top-notch movie, i.e., Superman rescuing the chemical plant; the almost-love story between Lana Lang and Clark Kent; and the "evil" and then "split" Superman. Reeve once again is top-notch; too bad the whole movie wasn't.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Another great Superman flick!!!
Review: I think Richard Pryor was a great addition to the film. I couldn't believe Gene Hackman wasn't in the production. That was a big disappointment.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: From Breathtaking to Boring, This Superman Dosen't Fly
Review: Everything that Superman stands for is shamelessly trashed in this third installment. All the wonder and excitement of the first 2 films are ill-chosenly traded for comic relief. Director Richard Lesters opening slapstick ballet is silly and doesn't belong in this movie. Unfortunately, the diabloic villanary of Gene Hackman is replaced with the droll antics of Richard Pryor. Christopher Reeve gives it his all but not even a man of steel can save this mindless sequal from the bowels of obscurity.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Superman III: Completley Underated
Review: It's sickening how underated this third installment of the Superman movie series is. It's every bit as imaginative and clever as the first two in the series. Plus, it's got an added bonus: the priceless comedy of Richard Pryor. Sure, the film can get overzealous in it's action scenes, but no more than Superman II. Christopher Reeve as Superman gives his most human performance to date. And how incredible is that scene where Superman and Clark Kent become two people and do battle!

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Maybe if it flaps its arms it could fly
Review: This is where Superman went bad. I am a die-hard, Chris Reeve, Superman fan, but this is where it went bad. I liked the movie because it had that LOOK that the first two movies had, and a couple of good scenes. Now I love Richard Pryor and all, but not in Superman, man. And the villian was a joke. Superman flew around the world to turn back time, defeated 3 guys as powerful as him, stopped an earthquake, and now has trouble with a COMPUTER! C'mon, man! NO WAY! The day Superman needs acid to whip a computer is the day Captain America doesn't salute the flag! Yep, this is where it all went bad.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: In Between
Review: Sure this movie is bad. But for anybody who is a hardcore superman fan you just don't care. I think it is pretty cool when clark splits in two in the junkyard. The fact of a evil superman is pretty cool. It is a change. I think they could have done a better job on the script though.
