Summary: Harrison Ford is VERY FUNNY!
Review: Hey folks, loosen up. OK? I'll be the first to admit this movie is no RUSH HOUR but it still has its moments. In particular I think Harrison Ford is terrific, maybe the most inventive I've ever seen him. Like Jack Nicholson he seems to have moved comfortably & craftily into his seniority (after all, he is over 60) & does a delightful job exploiting all the quirks & warts of his character. One only wishes Joe Gavilan (Ford) had been given better material. Even so, many of the scenes involving Gavilan's trying to hustle real estate while wreaking major violence are hilarious, particularly the final chase where he & his partner commandeer random means of transportation right & left until Gavilan desperately grabs a bicycle to navigate congested Hollywood traffic. One scene where's he's bleeding & sweaty & wielding an enormous gun trying to close a deal on a house on his cell phone while riding in an elevator with a group of nervous women that really puts Ford at the top ranks of comic actors.

I've read other reviews that compare this movie to 1980s cop shows. Well, maybe, but if so, so what? Are movies like hair styles or boxer shorts? Do they have to have a new "look" for this year? There's a lot of wit in this movie, not the least the many word plays on the eponymous location of this fun flick.

Summary: A buddy cop movie in 2003? Get a clue, Hollywwood.
Review: Woof. A buddy cop "comedy" with intermittent violence and wise-cracks and rappers? Was this "movie" really made in 2003, or has it been sitting on the shelf since 1986 (because that's where it belongs)? This is exactly the type of heartless group think trash that tells me Hollywood is not going to make it in the 21st century. The only thing that baffles me is why Harrison Ford would do something like this? And who decided Josh Hartnett is a star? Just because he was in Peal Harbor? Well, we didn't want to see THAT movie either.

Hollywood Homicide should be called Hollywood Death, because that's what it truly foretells. Skip it.

Summary: Stink City - Hollywood Style
Review: I was stunned at how bad this movie was. Don't let the "Two Thumbs Up" influence you, this film is the very bottom of the barrel.

Summary: CAREER SUICIDE?
Review: Harrison Ford (with or without his ear ring) needs a hit. HOLLYWOOD HOMICIDE (Columbia Tristar) isn't it. Talk about unintended title irony.

Summary: Wonderful
Review: I read some other reviews of "Hollywood Homicide" and cannot figure out why people wouldn't like this movie! If you like Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett, you will not have a problem liking this movie! It is funny, has a good plot, and very entertaining. I actually laughed out loud in the theater when I saw Harrison Ford riding the pink bike. This movie is a must-see.

Summary: Easily the worst movie I've seen all year!
Review: A terrible, terrible and boring movie with no point. Supposedly entertaining for some, I find no value in this. It is unimaginative, somewhat incoherent, and pointless.

Summary: Laid-back to the point of inertia
Review: Despite some mighty impressive competition for the title, "Hollywood Homicide" clearly wins the award for the most enervating and lackluster major studio comedy of 2003. It isn't that the filmmakers have tried and failed in their endeavor (which one could at least respect); it's that they seem not to have tried at all that is the real offense here. Robert Souza and Ron Shelton (who also directed the film) have provided a screenplay so lacking in energy and forward momentum that the film seems to be evaporating even as you're watching it.

Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett play cop buddies assigned to the Hollywood precinct of the LAPD. Since these two fine actors have been given virtually nothing to work with in terms of either comedy or drama, Ford and Hartnett are left to underplay almost to the point of catatonia. In fact, the whole film is suffering from a major case of inertia with Shelton clearly unable to execute even the most rudimentary elements for an effective police procedural. The crime drama he's provided - something about murders that occur at a local nightclub - is so bland and uninteresting that the actors are left with absolutely nothing to play off of except their own sweet likeability. And indeed, Ford and Hartnett wander aimlessly through every scene, getting off a few half-hearted quips every now and then to remind us that what we are seeing is supposed to be a sharp-edged satire on cop buddy movies. Since nothing that happens is remotely exciting or amusing, the movie earns the rare distinction of failing in two different genres, tanking both as a comedy and as a drama. That's quite an accomplishment for any film, I would say.

Hopefully, Ford and Hartnett have already moved onto better things in their moviemaking careers. I would hate, for their sakes, to think that the title of this film might turn out to be in any way prophetic.

Summary: AWFUL
Review: This movie was horrible. It wasnt even OK. Everything was bad. The acting. The casting. The roles. The plot. I almost walked out of the theater.

Summary: Average
Review: Harrison Ford was trying to be hip like the rappers in "Hollywood Homicide." That's not right at all. It's fo sho, not for sure. Older actors needn't take the route of becoming a playa, Steven Seagal tried it twice and nobody liked him after that. Plus, there were some love scenes which I thought were the ugliest scenes I have seen since Joe Pesci and Sharon Stone's scenes in "Casino." Blah! Blindness for a week. Then there's Josh Hartnett trying to be funny and he fails miserably. The only good part was the end chase and it took so long to get to that sequence. The chase makes the movie. Car crashes, people falling over for no reason and Ford riding on a girl's tricycle to catch the bad guys. Too bad this wasn't great like it should've been.

Summary: SUCKS!!!
Review: This movie is horrible! Joe Gavilan is a real-estate agent who hasn't made a deal in years, and a cop. The jokes about real-estate get really old really fast and Josh Harrnet's role is crappy. It seems as though, when they make a joke, they don't give it a push, it just falls flat out of their mouths. I respect Harrison Ford, but even the little jokes in star Wars come out better than this. The movie is full of fluff and the first hour is nothing. The only time if found myself intertained was when "Domineique" is naked in the hot tub and they start makin' out. So, don't rent this movie, or buy it and make the same mistake I did, watch Psycho instead. That! is a good movie.
