Summary: The difference being.....
Review: I didn't really have a problem with this movie. The whole thing was based on a character from Robert E. Howard novels (who technically is an ancestor to Conan of Cimmeria), had one of the same producers involved with the Conan movies, and the ORIGINAL soundtrack being hard and thunderous, enough to do Conan proud. I had no problem with this film, save for one thing....

Kevin Sorbo.

Yes, Mr. Pretty boy Hercules himself is placed into the role of Kull of Atlantis, ancestor to Conan the Barbarian, actually trying to play himself off as a barbarian. Would've been more believable to me had they gone with Lou Ferrigno, Arnold Schwarzenegger, or, dare I say, perhaps even Triple H. Apart from that one minute detail, the movie was terrific.

Summary: Entertaining, Kiddie Humor
Review: I found this film to be very entertaining. It's not a critically acclaimed movie by any means, but it is fun. The biggest problem with the movie, however, is that it seems to shift gears between being serious and being cartoonish. It needed to keep the same theme throughout: either go with "Conan the Barbarian" or go with "Hercules." But those who enjoy fantasy-type movies will still love "Kull." Its special effects are quite a step up from other fantasy films, and the film's humorous style kept my interest. END

Summary: entertaining while not much else
Review: I have seen Kevin Sorbo in Hercules and like Hercules he does good with the role that has been given to him. Though Kull is the son of Conan there is surprisingly no reference to that in the movie. So do you need to see the Conan movies before watching this? Absolutely not. In fact, I think Kull the Conqueror is better than the Conan movies. Though not superb, this movie does manage to entertain. Tia Carrere does good playing the evil and seductive ressurected queen who Kull has to defeat in order to save the kingdom he wants to rule. If you like movies based on fantasy/mythology, check this one out. Though the music and sense of humor are a bit far fetched considering the time of which Kull the Conqueror takes place, this still makes for a decent flick.

Summary: Conan probably denies he's related to this one
Review: I saw this movie in the theater, and the kindest thing I can say is that it's not as bad as such classics as "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" or "A Polish Vampire in Burbank". However, it's not bad enough to surive in that collection of classic klinkers. When I saw it in the theater, the best line was actually delivered by a theater patron who, seeing Kull engaged in combat with a burley foe, suggested that Kull, "Bite his ear!", an appropriate allusion to current events at the time. Save your money. Don't encourage production of this DVD.

Summary: Great Fun
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, so much so that I have seen it several times. The movie opens with lots of action and it continues throughout the entire film. Kevin Sorbo and the other actors did a great job. I highly recommend it and would like to see more films of this kind in the future.

Summary: I love this movie!
Review: I'm a Kevin Sorbo fan, not a "Governator" fan or a Conan fan so I thought that this movie was great -- cheesy -- but great. I loved this movie for the same reason I love Hercules and Andromeda -- Kevin Sorbo. So, read the reviews and if you're a Conan/"Governator" fan, then stay away from this one. BUT, if you're a Kevin Sorbo fan, then this is DEFINITELY the movie for you!

Summary: Painful
Review: I'm easily entertained - it's hard to make a movie I can't enjoy, but this one managed... Take Conan, remove the darkness and sense of high adventure add in Kevin Sorbo and a plastic axe.

I liked the soundtrack in a way - not exactly good listening but it was fun to see the big fights set to rock music - interesting experiment and not too bad an effect. But I keep seeing that stupid fight scene in an ice cave - obviously plastic weapons, irritatingly silly fight and boring (anti)climax.

Skip it, not worth the walk to the store, let alone hard earned dollars. Sorry Kevin, stick with Hercules.

Summary: So dumb yet so fun. I loved it.
Review: Kevin Sorbo is the big action hero in this film that makes "Conan the Barbarian" look intelligent. He defeats the king in one of many battles only to become the new king. But he must regain his power when it is taken from him by an evil yet very hot woman (who is actually an evil spirit). Lots of cheesy dialogue and fight scenes fill this movie. The best part is that the fight scenes are done to heavy metal music and it takes place during medieval times. By no means is this a good movie. But it's sure fun.
