Summary: Good.......that's it.
Review: By saying good, I mean (being a STAR WARS fan) "damn why was it such a lame movie? " For starters, Jar Jar Binks was a waste of time...I mean, is he loveable?........nope. If I got the chance I would tie his tongue to a speed train and let the rest to the beauty of dynamics......we'd have a dramatic Jar Jar scenery in red. Second point....The plot was simply lame....

The good points: Lightsabres battles are spectacular.....they are...I was really trapped at moments. The trilogy lacks lightsabre action. The pod race......amazing.

In conclusion.....a good movie but not as good as the trilogy. That may be beause luke, leia, chewie and han were much more sentimental than these her today.

Summary: Good movie
Review: This was a good movie, maybe not as good as the others , but it could not have had all the great characters of the other films which we all have grown to love and still made sense. Ok so Jar jar was overboard and I think they should have had an older Anakin in it (it hard to believe all that he did in this movie at his age). There were also some inconsistancies with the other Star Wars movies ( I thought Obi Wan was trained by Yoda!). But all in all it was a great movie with awesome special effects.

Summary: This movie never should have been made.
Review: I was very surprised and dissapointed to see George Lucas single handedly destroy everything I loved about episodes 4 and 5. The storyline (not that spectacular in the other Star Wars films, but these two had a lot of other things that made them great films) is irrelevant and the Star Trek like technobabble is awfull (midichlorians, very very bad idea George, it takes everything magical out of the Force thus destroying the concept), the actors spout their lines on command without feeling and the characters are forgettable at best. Anyway I saw it a couple of times and stick with what I thought the first time I left the theater: "This movie should never have been made".

Summary: 2hr Toy Commercial
Review: I waited 16 years and got a toy commercial. Granted, the other three movies did't exactly have poetic dialog (especially Return of the Jedi), but each movie had character development. This movie gives you only some superficial knowledge of the main players before whisking you off on a thoughtless, flashy journey. Along the way you get some really bad acting, a limp story, and worst of all, Jar Jar.

Even the special effects were lacking. ILM's composeting looks rather thin, especially at the beginning and end when actors are inside metallic rooms. Another summer movie, the Matrix, had far better looking, sharper and more inventive special effects that put the Phantom Menace to shame.

George Lucas has once again shown that he can not direct actors, and his storytelling skills are very rusty. I hope someone else directs the next one. Leave your brain and wallet at the door for this flick.

Summary: The phantom menace in the arse!
Review: (SPEAKING FOR ANOTHER PERSON. WAYNE BRYDON: I had high hopes for this film and was enjoying the film up until the point where Jar Jar bloody binks appeared. The character had absolutely no point at all and made a potentially good film a large turd in the toilet bowl of bad films. Where were the space scenes? (a brief 5 minutes). Most annoyingly of all little Anakin Skywalker was a good actor. The film would have got 4 stars out of 5 but because of Jar Jar it gets 2.

Summary: Take the longer view, perhaps
Review: Sure, I agree that this movie was a disappointment with shallow characterizations and too much technology overshadowing the human element and making it seem cartoonish, however... The first trilogy must ultimately form a tragedy in the traditional sense. It must show a great man achieve success prior to a fall brought about by his own arrogance. If this character is Anakin, then I am surprised that we don't see the seed of his flaw in the first movie (if he is rash and capable of cruelty, it would have been nice to see him exhibit this in the pod race scene by meeting Sebulba's violence with his own), but if the tragic character is Obi-Wan, then this first movie works rather well since it moves him into a scenerio which he is too young and overconfident to manage. Seen as a first act, the movie works because it presents the world of light, youth, and innocence that the sequels must tear down.

Summary: Best Movie I've Ever Seen
Review: When I first saw the Star Wars Trilogy I was amazed I thought Star Wars couldn't get better... I was wrong. Star Wars Episode 1 The Phantom Menace is the best movie I have ever seen. It has some great special effects, it has a creative range of characters and locations and the story is a masterpeice. This movie takes a little thing like introducing a new character who grows up to be a Jedi Of The Sith and turns it into something out of this world. The boy who eventually does grow up to be the evil Darth Vadar actually started out as a junkyard slave who competes in deadly podraces. Being the only human who can race pods is an achievement in its own but the power of using the Force is a Destiny.

You must see this movie. It is worth buying.

Summary: Wonderful eye candy.
Review: Who hasn't dreamed of being in space as a kid? Can you remember the worlds you created in your back garden with your friends? Well, George Lucas does.

There is no deep meaning to this movie, the story line is merely a guide for the special effects. A whole new universe is created in this movie, another way of life. It's a pleasure to watch the movie, even with the sound off.

If you're watching this movie for social enlightenment or suggestions to the meaning of life, you're going to be dissapointed. This movie is eye candy. It's so pleasing to watch just because you don't have to think while doing so.

Most special effects in movies seem like they're made by a kid who recently figured out how to animate on his/her new computer. Lucas has style and know-how. These are not wasted special effects. They're not thrown around or wasted pointlessly, they're used when the situation calls for them, and never in excessive amounts.

If you liked the first three (or should I say last three) you'll love this souped up version. Todays technology has given Industrial Light and Magic (Lucas' production company) a new instrument, but it seems like they've had this tool for years, because they definently know what to do with it.

If you're looking for romance or comedy or intellectual stimulation, you may want to avoid this movie, but if you want something good to look at, this is a must-buy.

Summary: The Future, yet Past, of Star Wars
Review: This has got to be the best Star Wars movie out yet. One can only imagine how this story will unfold as 2 and 3 come out. I recommend this video to any major or minor Star Wars fan alive. Be sure to pick one up as soon as humanly possible...even if you are from a galaxy far, far away.
