Summary: High Marks for 'Marked for Death'
Review: Despite a sense of uneasiness over its stereotyped, drug dealing Jamaican villains (check the careful disclaimer at the end), 'Marked for Death' scores as a strong, well-crafted action movie. Unlike most of his rivals, Seagal is a more than credible fighting force, lopping heads and snapping arms with conviction.

The DVD boasts strong colours and sharp focus, though Fox seem to have stumbled a little over the aspect ratio. While the box claims 1.85:1, the picture is closer to 2.35:1, resulting in a slightly 'stretched' look (the actors appear to have undergone rapid weight gain in some shots). Maybe my eyes are deceiving me, but everyone looks slimmer in the accompanying trailer.

Summary: A masterpiece of action
Review: Don't bother disecting the plot, this film is one rollercoaster ride from start to finish - this film has some of the most memorable dialogue ever committed to celluloid : how about - "You're just like a dog without teeth!" also "Ya badbway, me gwan carve ya now, bloodclot!" It's just a beautiful film, what more can i say? They don't make them like this anymore.

Summary: A terrific Seagal plot-to-get-lost-in!
Review: Don't try too hard to figure this one out. Basil Wallace as "Screwface" is the ultimate villain. This movie yanks the viewer between modern day inner city strife and life's seedy underpinnings most of us would rather deny exist. Unplug the phones, dim the lights, sit back and relish this one. It will make a believer out of you!

Summary: Marked For Excellence
Review: Hollywood has once again unleashed Steven Seagal onto our screens, and in brutal fashion. Seagal, the real life holder of a 7th degree black belt in Aikido, hits back at some Jamacan drug cartel bosses after they try to execute his family. However if your gonna mess with Steven Seagal you better make your first shot count because then It's his turn! Superb martial arts sequences ensure that the viewers adrenaline levels are peaked until the final credits have rolled.
This is one of Steven Seagal's first movies and indeed one of the best in my opinion. With a straight foward storyline that is held together well throughout the course of the feature, Seagals unique acting style and a strong support cast this one is a winner for any action fan. If you liked Hard To Kill and Above The Law you will enjoy this to. Seagal, being much younger and fitter than in recent years, moves with the grace and speed of a cat, incapacitating foes with lightning ferocity. I recommend that you rent or buy this great picture from Fox Studios immediately, sit back on the couch with a box of pop corn and enjoy 90 minutes of pure, 100% action. Cheers from TAZZI!

Summary: Not quite as good as other Seagal films.
Review: I enjoyed the appearence of the very funny prop-comic Carrot Top as the villian, Screwface. What the heck is up with that name? The Jamaican characters in this film were impossible to understand most of the time; but Seagal (obviously with his deep understanding of Caribbean culture, society, and linguistic history)understands every word uttered perfectly. It was a shame to see his classic early 1970's Mustang get crushed by a big-rig and a bulldozer; although his car isn't as cool as the 1968 Mustang GT 390 Steve McQueen used in "Bullit." Automatics are for grandmothers. Seagal pretty much plays the same character in this movie as he has in... all his movies: the angry martial arts dude. I liked the attack on Screwface's mansion, when in an effort to go cammando, Seagal dresses up as the McDonald's character Mayor McCheese. It's fun to see a McDonald's Playland character killing people left and right with Judo and a home-made AK-47. I was also sad to see that Segal's ponytail got second billing. On the DVD, there is an in-depth interview with the ponytail.

Summary: All you would want out of an action movie.
Review: I recently saw the year 2000 version of Get Carter with Sly Stallone (...)and before that I saw The Art of War (even worse) in theaters. I have to say I have really become dissapointed with pure action movies today, at the low they have fallen to. It's times like this when one must remember a great action movie like Marked for Death, not Seagals best, but still great. This movie is a great pure action movie. Don't watch it expecting The Godfather part 5. The acting isn't the greatest thing you've ever seen here, but it's more than enough for a pure action movie. Some parts are un-intentionally funny but that's not a bad thing, it makes me laugh. Now back to the movie, yes, the story is good and like most of Seagals movies, realistic, it's connected to something that was actually happening in the world when it came out. The best part of course (as it should be) is the bone crunshing, violent, no holds barred, action. The plot is also very well developed. Nice atmosphere also. All that put together makes Marked for Death another Seagal classic. Watch it and ponder about the times when action movies like this, were taken for granted. I really hope Seagal returns soon. We need a good pure action movie.

Summary: Steven Seagal is H*O*T* hot!
Review: I think this movie is the absolute bomb because is is so cool to watch him break people in half, break arms and legs, and it is even more impressive to watch him move. Keep it real.
Steven Seagal, I LOVE YOU!!

Review: I thought this movie was well made with an excellent story line.

Summary: Not his best, but not a piece of crap either.
Review: If you can get by the fairly slow half-hour beginning of the movie, you are made in the shade. After that it picks up and the butt kickin' begins. Yeah Seagal doesn't even break a sweat in this movie, but oh well. By far not his best movie, but it is during the time when he was basically in his prime. From Out For Justice and Hard to Kill, to the Under Siege flicks they were good times if you were a Seagal fan. But now, oh man, his movies a crap. Marked for Death is cool, the music is mint, even though I don't like reggae that much. Fight scenes were good and violent, and you get a little nakedness from hot ladies. Not bad.
