Rating: Summary: This movie is okay. Review: I saw this in theaters like 2 years ago and it was okay for an action movie. The special effects were great but I really didn't like the acting and the whole concept of the story. I just didn't like the movie at all. I did like the ending though.
Rating: Summary: Armageddon-- Criterion Collection Review: If you love the movie Armageddon then you will really love this Criterion Edition. It contains everything you could ever want to know about the best end-of-the-world movie ever. The two commentaries are excellent and insightful, the story boards are fun to see, the Aerosmith video and interview are too cool, and all the trailers rock! If you love the movie and want to know how it was made by the people who made it this is definitely for you. Two thumbs up!
Rating: Summary: GREAT MOVIE Review: I loved this movie. When I can laugh, cry and sit on the edge of my seat all in one movie it has got to be good. I would recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Excellent film with brilliant ending Review: Armageddon is a brilliant film,(what ever anyone else thinks!)with a proper interesting plot! There are pretty well developed characters in it and the story is moving though it doesn't have any amazingly brilliant affects, it is definitely a film to watch!
Rating: Summary: wide screen disaster Review: I certainly enjoyed the story and the special effects, but was quite bothered by seeing this movie in a wide and short ("WIDE-SCREEN") subset of the whole screen space. You see everything much smaller that you would with a better aspect ratio.
Rating: Summary: Lighten Up! It's an Action Adventure Movie! Review: OK, it's not art...but it's not supposed to be! This movie was exactly what it promised to be...a highly entertaining summer blockbuster. Of course it's not perfectly scientifically accurate, but it's a stunning sensory experience. Both the sights and sounds are some of the best I've seen on DVD. For those of you who love action and science fiction, ignore those "art" critics who insist on reviewing this movie like a "film"...this is a MUST SEE!
Rating: Summary: HIGHLY overated! Review: This is the worst action movie I've ever seen. They overplay the action! The only goal of the film-makers was to see how many people they could kill and how much stuff could go wrong in the 2 hour time limit. It gets really boring after a while. Also, they try too hard to mix action-with-comedy-with-romance, and they fail. I'm very glad I didn't spend any money on this. The only reason I give it 2 stars is this: One for Bruce Willis, one for the fact that they feature an Aerosmith song on it.
Rating: Summary: The worst action movie I've ever seen Review: This is an extremely badly made movie. The only entertainment it provides is that you can laugh at the director's stupidity. The other comet movie (Deep Impact) is a lot better. If you have to choose one among the two, go for Deep Impact.
Rating: Summary: Headache-inducing nonsense Review: This movie is a testament to how the state of motion pictures is declining. Noise, noise, and more noise doesn't always mean the film is entertaining. The plot is predictable and the ending drags. Another thing: if a Texas-sized asteroid is exploded from the inside, it will not make a clean break into two pieces. Even if some city-sized asteroids are left, it will still wipe out the whole human race.
Rating: Summary: Best out of all the other end of the world movies Review: This movie was a really good representation of what the world would be like if something like this really happened... How people would react, and the emotion that is brought out in the character's... Not only were emotions brought up, but a sense of family within the world as we know it was also incorperated in this movie. I don't give it 5 stars because of the repeatedness of this issue in film production.
