Summary: Verry Funny
Review: I rented this movie the other night and laughed the whole way through! This is a great film for anyone who loves animals or who just likes to see a movie that is fun to watch. This movie is a great break from a lot of the violence and filth that is typically coming out of Hollywood these days. I didn't see anything objectionable at all in this film, it is a great movie for all ages. Sean Hayes is great as the voice of "Mr. Tinkles," a cat bent on taking over the world and getting rid of all the dogs along the way. The DVD edition also shows a lot of how the film was made and all the hard work and effort that went into making robot cats and dogs move like the real animals. The DVD also shows "Mr. Tinkles" screen tests, something very funny as well. This is one DVD I will be adding to my currently expanding DVD collection. I recommend this film highly!

Summary: Could have been a fantastic movie...
Review: But it was just too friggin' dumb.

To be fair, you can't expect a movie like this to become some sort of cult masterpiece. But moviegoers expected a cute little romp filled with great characters and a funny script (kind of like Toy Story without animals). However, the script is lousy, the characters aren't really that interesting, and the CGI effects are way too obvious. But perhaps the two most most distracting things about this film were the editing and cinematography. I thought the dog/cat's eye point of view the camera used was pretty clever, and animals DO move around kinetically... but it was sometimes way too confusing to actually see what was going on. And the editing was simply a mess.

The voice acting is pretty good (especially that Russian kitten), but the human acting is dreadfully awful, which comes as a shock since Jeff Goldblum usually does very good naturalistic acting. And, like most movies where the real stars are puppets or animals, the little boy was downright annoying.

The DVD menus are pretty cool and the special features are even better. Be sure to check out Mr. Tinkles' auditions for other films such as Casablanca and On The Waterfront. I suppose my only complaint towards this disc is... why don't they sell the widescreen version of this movie in stores?

Overall, the film is a good way to kill an hour and a half, I guess. I just expected so much better. I figured a movie about the secret battle between cats and dogs couldn't really go wrong, but it was just too kiddie. Loved that Russian kitten though.

Summary: Cats & Dogs for the Plus 60 Generation
Review: I loved this movie. Many good laughs and an enjoyable evening in the theatre. I can't forget Lou and Mr. Tinkles and some of their lines. "Evil does not wear a bonnet." Mr. Tinkles was so cute dressed in all his outfits. Reminds me of being a child and dressing up the animals as dolls. The bath scene for Mr. Tinkles was great, when the normally very fluffy Mr. Tinkles was shaggy and dripping wet, and the other cat commenting how slim he looked. Sophie was such a fun character and her role was very well done as the caregiver and owner of Mr. Tinkles. Lou was my favorite and I think of him being just the dog I would love to own. They were such endearing animals. I remember the doberman saying to the puppies he was trying to encourage to look cute, "Wag those tails". So many humorous lines.

Much of the humor just pops in my mind daily. A truly wonderful bit of escape. There should be more films like this. The live animals make it a film for all generations.

Review: when I first bought this movie last tuesday,I had not seen it yet,so I was in for a suprise at how good it was!

since Im an animal lover,(dogs are my favorite)I watch it all the
time! I liked butch the best,he was so cute, and lou was cute as
well.

sean hayes was cool as mr.tinkles, another cute animal.he looked
so fluffy and silky!

I got the soundtrack shortly after seeing the movie, and its great
as well,I listen to it everyday!

the part that I thought was kind of sad was when butch tells lou
that after his owner went to college he didnt want him anymore.
that must of hurt him alot.

poor butch.

in fact, I didnt buy this,I got it free with a movie coupon, yeah
that was it.

anyway,Im glad I got this free then,cause it is a great,cute show!

Summary: I like Talking animal movies
Review: and I am not a child. I will admit that. Cats and Dogs is the latest of the genre, and I thought it was cute. "Mr. Tinkles" the ruler of cats stole the show. I think the animals were the best thing about this movie as the acting was horrendous by Jeff Goldblum and Elizabeth Perkins. A lot of you are probably thinking that this is just a silly kids movie, but if you are a cat or dog lover, you just may find some of the antics of both creatures pretty funny.
It is a mediocore film but for you fans of talking animal movies, you may be the only ones who can appreciate it.
Oh and by the way, DOGS RULE!!

Review: and "Cats and Dogs" is a cute one. While this film was catered more to a younger audience, as a full fledged adult, I enjoyed viewing it. I laughed alot. The maids dressing up Mr. Tinkles the cat was my favorite part.
yes, the acting was less than par, but for those of us who appreciate this genre of film, it has quite a few laughs and it's fun trying to figure out who is doing the voices.
This is a good family film too.

Summary: Cats and Logs
Review: Just by the look of the cover, you know this movie's going to be fruity. And that's okay. Cats & Dogs does not overkill its fruitness and therefore I didn't find myself running to the bathroom. I did find something else to groan about, though. I dove into this movie thinking it'd be a high-flying cat vs. dog battle from beginning to end. What I walked away with was just another average, day-to-day film about a boy and his dog. The confrontation between breeds kind of takes a back seat to the mushy "love" story kindling between the star dog and the star human. All this is done to a sappy plot, I might add. Having the cats try to take over the world is great. Yet the basis of conflict is a cure-all the boy's dad is working on. It doesn't fit the mold! I was mildly entertained by Cats & Dogs, but I wanted more... so much more. It reminded me way too much of all those other silly boy meets dog movies. Hence, I never plan on watching this one again.

Summary: Not just for kids
Review: My wife and I are in our forties and we loved it. Very clever
story and one funny scene after another. If you have pets this will be guaranteed entertainment. Marvelous effects and voices give this a lot of energy. Mr. Tinkles and the Russian Blue assassin steal the show. Cats rule!!!

Summary: Pretty funny
Review: I'm not sure what I expected when I watched this movie but I was pleasantly pleased with it.

I laughed at all the right places and found it very entertaining.

Lou was indeed very cute and I loved Mr. Tinkles. The Russian cat was pretty funny too.

I think that if you pick up this movie with a few laughs in mind that you will enjoy it immensly. If you pick it up looking for a barrel of laughs...well that depends on your sense of humor.
