Summary: An excelent beginning!
Review: Street fighter is one of the more subsesful anime based on a video game. This anime S.F.A is an excellent beginning of what would be an excelent story. Most people say that it is bad and the worst animated movie that they had ever seen, but what some people don't know is that this isn't even a movie,it is just an 2 episodes OVA put together to make this "Movie".It doesn't mean almost anything if people gives it 2,3 or 1 star, this is just an opening of the serie.I found this OVA great and I wish that they keep the good work to make the serie and the ORIGINAL MOVIE even better than the OVA.I hope that they make a serie of this one because the plot is very long and there is too much were to cut from.I really love this Ova(or movie in the US).In Japan it is known as S.F.Zero the animation but I don't know why did they put S.F.Alpha the animated movie here in the US.Just wait for the continuation of this OVA to come out so there people could really judge about it.Buy it,it is really great and fun for an S.F. fan!

Summary: Capcom's milking the cash cow
Review: For diehards only--the plot is a thinly-veiled ripoff of the original anime: bad guy (a biologist this time!) collects data on street fighters while planning to take over the world. What's worse is that the story barely holds together. Yes, the film is Ryu-centric, but even so we get little character development, only scenes of him uttering the same lines repetitively. Ken acts younger in this one (recall the flashback scenes from the original) and is just comic relief. The original SFII art was not consistent, but Alpha cannot compare: the colors are washed out and the art lacks detail. In the DVD extras, the animator even admits to having difficulty drawing Chun Li--perhaps this is why the movie so often resorts to odd camera angles (predominantly crotch shots) and it is frustrating when the fighting takes place outside of the viewer's perspective. You'll have nothing to match the likes of Ryu vs. Fei Long, for instance. The trailer and box might have you believe Akuma is the villain here--if only it were so. The character design on the last two "bosses" is a joke. A disappointing release celebrating the 10th anniversary of an excellent anime movie . . . Let the buyer beware.

Summary: Best Fighting Anime superior to the first SF Movie
Review: Non-stop bone-bracking action with muscle-packed super-fluent animated characters. Genuises must have created these choreographies. Only minus are the short guest entries of certain game-characters wich seem a bit "odd" if you don't know them from the arcade game. A "must have" for action-anime fans. Hope there will be made a sequel the same team.

Summary: Not really what I expected, but good
Review: After watching the amazing anime Street Fighter II - The Animated Movie, I was expecting another great Street Fighter anime. I was kinda' disappointed. This movie had great animation and the characters (although most characters were not even mentioned) were very well drawn and depicted. The movie completely revolves around Ryu...and if there's a bit of time to concentrate on others, a bit on Chun-Li and Ken. None of this bothered me a bit...the only drawback was the lack of a story-line. It was kinda' missing something... The DVD, however, is much better than that of Street Fighter II - The Animated Movie. It has many bonus features and a menu...Imagine that! (Street Fighter II - The Animated Movie didn't have a menu...that kinda' disappointed me). Overall, its a must-see for any Street Fighter fan... A must-buy you may ask...well, rent it first...then you decide.

Summary: Don't be so hard on it!
Review: Come down people, the best of Street Fighter Alpha is still to come.Althougt this movie wasn't what you really were expecting it is just the beginning of what will be a great anime serie.Give S.F.A.(S.F.Z.)one more chance and it would show you how great it is.I know the plot wasn't quit clear but the characters were just perfect. It introducced us a new generation of SF,a whole new plot and a new beginning.Even though this anime wasn't the best of all it sure has it action scenes that are a total blast. If you just want to try it,rent it but if you really are a SF fan this movie is one for you to keep.

Summary: Street Fighter is the best!
Review: It's been ten years since Street Fighter 2 hit store shelves for the SNES and to commemorate this long lasting franschise, Capcom has honored us with a sensational Street Fighter movie. The main characters are bascially Ryu, Ken, Chung Li. It starts off with a fight that has Chung Li and Ryu show off their killer moves. One of the new characters who is introduced is Shun, Ryo's long lost little brother. He stays with Ken and Ryo for the time and then comes a tournament for money. Ryo decides not to fight and rather watch Ken fight. So they go to their specified location only to be attacked by thugs. At this time, Ken meet Sakura, a young school girl who wants to be like Ryu. When the group finally meets at the location, a few familiar faces come up (Bison and Vega). A great battle takes place, but ends up with Shun being captured. Ryo was able to fight harder thanks to the evil Dark Hado. The Dark Hado is a mysterious force that swallowed up Akura and Shun posses it too. During this time, Sakura, injured in the hospital, thinks hard about what it means to fight. Now we know that Street Fighter is more than just another Dragonball Z. Ken, Ryu and Chung Li take off for the final tournament ground. It is soon revealed that a mad scientist wants to rule the world with the Dark Hado and he has a clever way of achieving it. I won't tell you how it ends, but does end a tad bit tragic, but leaves you feeling great. The animation is extremely good. The character designs are all great although come might not like Chung Li's design. The dub serves up to be great with familiar voices from other series. The most notable one will be the voice actor of Ken who also played the voice of Spike in Cowboy Bebop. My only bicker about the dub is that they say Ryo as Reo. The music is the best part of the movie. Its just too bad that Manga couldn't have given this a theatrical release like that of "X" because the music makes it seem very theatrical. One thing I think worth noting is that when Sakura is in a hospital bed playing Street Fighter 2 on a gameboy! The story is a little linear, but, hey, it's Street Fighter. I grew up playing this stuff. And it is a treat to watch. Does the story make sense? Not a lot of it. Is it entertaining? Heck yeah. Street Fighter isn't a well layed out plot with an exellent story, but it is a movie you can just sit down and watch for fun without going into a lot of detail. A very entertaining film. Highly recommended.

Summary: Superb with flaws but not enough flaws to get four stars!
Review: This is the first anime DVD I purchased. It is great in terms of animation. I mean great everything is detailed. Although the animation is great, the story needs a little work. How many times have we seen a film where someone has a long lost family member come? Many. It still presents a somewhat stale kind of film and does it in a good way. Most of the minor Alpha characters make cameos that is also dissapointing. The reason why you guys should get this though is for. The animation, the action, the dark hadou, and the fact that it is Street Fighter related. Great for fans. Other people will look elsewhere. The features aren't to bad either.

Summary: Amazing
Review: I felt that this anime was incredible. The artwork and animation are great and simply ooze style. The music, for the most part, is incredible as well. The fight scenes may not be quite as fast-paced as they were in the earlier Street Fighter Animes, but the presentation of Alpha really draws you in during fights and otherwise. The DVD is one amazing package, and well worth picking up. I have been extremely pleased.

Summary: a shameful one...
Review: a big dissapointment, can't understand how some mindless reviews say that this is a good one,the fights are boring,slow..the animation is plain, the plot is simply unintersting, where is akuma?? 3 minutes of his useless appearence in the movie didn't make a change!!!the rest of the other SF alpha characters did simply nothing except of posing for a few pictures to show off their muscles thank goodness i didn't buy...avoid this movie, trust me...
