Summary: A View to Retirement
Review: Maybe "Moonraker" isn't the worst Bond film, after all. That splendidly mounted but ridiculous low for the series has competition in the form of "A View to a Kill." A tired looking Roger Moore, in his seventh and final appearance as 007, is aided by Tanya Roberts, one of Farrah Fawcett's less memorable replacements on "Charlie's Angels," as he battles Christopher Walken, a fine villain stuck in a subpar script. Other than Walken, the one bright spot comes courtesy of Patrick Macnee, the third veteran of TV's superb "The Avengers" to appear in a Bond film (Honor Blackman and Diana Rigg are the others). The former John Steed adds considerable charm, class, and even warmth to this, the 14th official film in the series, but he doesn't linger long. The action is old fashioned in the extreme with the Bond team even offering stunts involving a fire engine that are less exciting than Bob Hope's similar adventure in "My Favorite Spy." Even bad Bond is better than no Bond at all, but other bad Bonds are better than this.

Summary: A View to an okay Bond movie
Review: A View to a Kill was okay. But they despretly needed to retire the 58 (!) year old Rodger Moore. He limped when he ran, which is definitly a sign to retire. The girl stunck. Christopher Walken played a buck-toothed villian,he was good though but it was his right-hand man... no woman Mayday who took the spot as villian. She was the Oddjob or Jaws of the movie. A good end to Rodger Moore's career as Bond, James Bond though.

Review: This is such an amazing bond film. It has all the great elements:- A great storyline, excellent villains, sexy women, thrilling action sequences, and wonderful locations. Some people think that Moore is too old, but I thought he was ok. An excellent entry in the 007 series. My favourite. 10/10

SURELY ... And also don't forget PATRICK MAC NEE ! ... A SPLENDID "CODGER" BRITISH ACTOR WHO SERVE THIS FILM !

Summary: This View Doesn't Kill... Nor Thrill!
Review: The title song by Duran Duran is arguably the series' best, and John Barry's score is equally great, reminiscent of "On Her Majesty's Secret Service." But it's all downhill from there. It's a shame that such wonderful music stays in your head reminding you of a film that is anything but. There are so many things wrong with this movie, which in essence makes it among the worst of the Bonds. For one, the Bond girl this time around, as played by Tanya Roberts, is not only the series' worst, but practically looks like jailbait next to Roger Moore, who is 30 years her senior! Christopher Walken is an interesting casting choice in the role of a psychotic industrialist, but his performance borders on camp. Some impressive stunt work is done at both the Eiffel Tower and the Golden Gate Bridge, but both sequences ultimately disappoint, at least compared to what we've come to expect. Elsewhere the action is silly and comic-bookish. Among the few high points is the inspired casting of Patrick Macnee in the (unfortunately too short) role of Tibet, and also, but to a lesser degree, that of Grace Jones as a butchy villainess with a good death scene. But perhaps the movie's greatest weakness is the fact that by this film Roger Moore is clearly over the hill as our suave and ruthless secret agent, looking almost geriatric next to his leading ladies, and in the process destroying the film's credibility. If you're still not convinced, consider this: Moore (at his oldest) gets laid more in this film than in any of his previous turns as 007, and one of them being Grace Jones! Pause. Breathe. Get another Bond.

Summary: Not too far off the beaten track
Review: After 1981's "For Your Eyes Only", the excitment in the Bond series went from sizziling to a near cold cut platter. 1983 brought "Octopussy" which started a trend with a more mellow Bond that didn't save the world that much (This trend contiued until 1987's "The Living Daylights" broke the trend, and 1989's "Licence to Kill" continued it, but in a much darker fashion). In 1985, "A View to a Kill" was introduced. How does it stack up to the other Bonds of the '80's?
Roger Moore returns in his seventh and final outing as James Bond 007. After the intense, adreniline pumping pre-credits sequence and a pretty good theme song, the movie loses it's momentum and slows down. Bond is assigned to investigate Mr. Max Zorin (Christopher Walken) and his '80's trendy girlfriend (Grace Jones). Roger Moore's stunt man played a good role in his jumps, runs, and driving.
Later the movie switches to San Francisco and we then learn Zorin's plot to flood Silicon Valley. Bond then meets a geologist, Stacy Sutton (Tanya Roberts) who is an extreme hottie who can scream and can't act. In fact, she is number four on the worst Bond list. Right behind Denise Richards, Michelle Yeoh, and Britt Eckland. If not for those three, she would have the worst Bond Girl Award, which is now in Denise Richard's possesion.
A View to a Kill stacks up as an ejoyable, but flawed Bond film, which features a fading Roger Moore doing what he loves best, playing James Bond. The score is probably the only thing that doesn't hurt the film, besides the acting (excluding Tanya Roberts), the score is perfectly done. This is a good Bond flick to watch if you're a hardcore Bond film like me. I still say Roger Moore should have left "Octopussy" and this to the underrated Timothy Dalton.

Review: a view to a kill is a great bond film, why do people dislike it? I have to say it is my favorite Roger Moore film although he was looking too old Tanya Roberts is okay it's just she never stops screaming. Cristopher Walken has to be my FAVORITE bond villian ever!!! also Grace Jones did a good job as May Day too.

Review: Roger Moore's seventh and final James Bond picture. After this, the 007 bullets were passed on to Timothy Dalton. The cast includes Patrick Macnee, Tanya Roberts, Christopher Walken and Grace Jones. This was also Lois Maxwell's last appearance as Miss Moneypenny, a role she played since the very first Bond film, "Dr. No" in 1962. DVD includes a very informative, original documentary, "A View To A Kill". It is 38 minutes long. There is a deleted scene from the Paris Police Station scene. Audio Commentary with Director John Glen and some of the cast. A new featurette of the Bond Sound, "The Music of James Bond". It is 21 minutes. A "View To A Kill" music video performed by Duran Duran, and three theatrical trailers and four television spots.
