Summary: Move over Connor MacLeod
Review: When I first heard that the two Highlanders were going to be together, I was riveted to find more information. After watching the movie, I was impressed. The movie totally erased any lasting memory of Highlander 2 (arguably the worst merchandising move in movie history) and tied together both the series and the movies. There are many holes that associate in tying the two together, but for 2 hours, they don't matter. The only reason I have waited so long in reviewing this movie was to deside which was better, Highlander 1 or Highlander: Endgame. My final verdict is a tie. For Highlander fans, nothing can beat the original, but for Highlander: The Series fans, seeing Duncan on the big screen is unbeatable. As a fan of both, I cannot deside.

Summary: OK Highlander sequel
Review: Christopher Lambert returns as the Scottish immortal Connor MacLeod in the third and probably last sequel to the Highlander series. Adrian Paul joins him as Duncan MacLeod from the TV series. The film's storyline was a little confusing to me because I never watched the T.V. series. The movie overall is enjoyable to watch, as the two immortals battle Jacob Kell, played by Bruce Payne (overacting a little bit!). I was mad because Connor is killed off in the film, and I'm a big fan of the movie series. Also, the blood and gore in the movie look sort of fake, almost TV-quality stuff. If you weigh out the good and bad points of the film, you end up with a so-so movie.

Summary: Not worth the money
Review: I missed the movie in the theater and when it was released only on DVD, I just went ahead and bought it on video. What a mistake!! Although it did bring together the original character with the series characters, I was not impressed. Actually it was awful. To have Connor admit defeat and Duncan accepts that is ridiculous. Thank goodness it was the end. I will just enjoy the first movie and forget about the botched attempts to follow that up.

Summary: 1 Star for the film. 4 for the DVD.
Review: A very poor film that is easily the worst Highlander sequel. Even worse than Highlander 2 (I'm talking about the Renegade version). This totally contradicts the events that took place in the 3 previous films and the plot is totally senseless in every department.

Lambert delivers a terrible performance that doesn't even seem like the Connor McLeod we've seen 3 previous times. The story is all over the place and never comes close to remotely coming together. After all the disgrace the Highlander movies have gone thru and the roasting they've gotten from the critics you'd think that the writers would try extra hard with this one but it's seriously terrible.

A second disc in the set has a B-cut of the film that improves upon it none. Total trash.

The extras are okay and make for a decent purchase but if your not fan of the Highlander series (like I WAS) then stay well away. You seriously have been warned.

The DVD is in Dolby 5.1. and is in 2.35:1 anamorpic (not the 1.85:1 as stated by the jacket).

Summary: "THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!"
Review: Even though I have yet to see HIGHLANDER II: THE QUICKENING and HIGHLANDER: THE FINAL DIMENSION, this film is just as good as the original film. Jacob Kell is on par with The Kurgan as the best villians that Connor and Duncan Macleod have ever faced. The visual effects were done very good (compared to the series). The acting and choreography are done very well. If this film has any downfalls, there would be two of them:

1) DUNCAN AND FAITH'S SEX SCENE. True, it has good editing between the scene in the past and the present, and the woman playing Faith is great looking. But I'd rather watch Kate Winslet's nude scene in TITANIC than look at Adrian Paul's naked rear end through half of that scene. And since I'm a Christian, I really shouldn't watch this scene much at all.

2) THE DEATH OF CONNER MACLEOD. This is the part of the movie that bothered me the most. Conner is my favorite HIGHLANDER character, and was THE ONE in the original film. It was sad tha he died, but it was more sad that Duncan was the one that killed him. Even though it was inevitable, it's still sad to think about.

Other than these minor problems, HIGHLANDER: ENDGAME is a movie that all HIGHLANDER fans shouldn't be without. Grade: A+

Summary: A return to glory for Highlander fans
Review: As a huge highlander fan I jumped at the chance to by the new film ENDGAME. It is a fantastic movie with insights into the early years of Connor Mcleod and Duncan Mcleods immortality. There is more depth into Connors past and the special effects are brilliant. Although it doesn't quite follow the films before it or for that matter the series starring Adrian Paul, I feel the that the film was well written and produced. This film really is a must for any Highlander fan, the fight scenes and swordsmanship are remarkable.
The ending of the film I feel was slightly controversial but it was probably the best way to end it.
It's just a shame that this film is not on release in the UK just yet, so go out and buy a NTSC playback VCR and buy this film.
FANTASTIC!!

Summary: Ugh...
Review: This movie is pathetic. I consider myself a fairly big Highlander fan and I felt deeply insulted after watching this seemingly hastily-thrown together slop. I walked into the theater expecting it to be more of a guilty pleasure intended only for true Highlander fans, but I walked out just feeling dirty. The television series on which most of this "sequel" is based appears much better produced/directed and with a comperable budget. This is a horrible way to "end" the series and leaves a very poor taste in my mouth after the cancelation of the tv series and the semi-watchable Highlander: Raven series. The only reason this gets 2 stars is because it's not quite as bad as some of the earlier attempts to continue the series on the big screen. This movie might actually be more entertaining for non-Highlander fans simply because they won't be groaning throughout the entire movie watching and agonizing over what could have been.

Summary: Highlander-Endgame
Review: This was a great movie. The creators incorporated characters from the movie series and the tv series. They explain many events which occured in the first movie and events from the television series. When these events occured, viewers said,"O.k. So that happened. But why?"
This is a movie that can be watched many times over with the same excitment as the first time watched.
