Summary: This movie made me laugh so hard..........
Review: ...that I watch it several times to catch the scenes I missed due to hyperventilating. The teaming of Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker was a brilliant fusion. Jackie Chan's Kung Fu and stunts are amazing as usual.

That is why I just ordered the DVD after already viewing it 8 times.

Summary: One Of Jackie Chan's Weakest Films
Review: Made in the USA isn't necessarily a good thing and this film is a prime example. The plot is a weak rehashing of every buddy cop film ever made. Even in Jackie's Hong Kong films where the plots make very little sense there is some originality involved. Chris Tucker (annoyingly) plays the loose cannon cop, no one can control. This is a character we've seen in thousands of films and he's such a one trick pony he doesn't add anything new or fresh. As for Jackie he looks like the Asian William Shatner, all slicked back pompador and puffy. He has William Shatner's moves too. The stunts are an incredible let down and the fight scenes are anemic. The fight with Jackie and Tucker hand-cuffed together was done much better in Project A II. Just like the first time Jackie came to America in the early eighties (in the horrible "The Protector") the director doesn't use Jackie's acrobatic skills or martial arts effectively. For a better US buddy film with Jackie Chan and a somewhat more talented actor than Chris Tucker check out the superior Shanghi Noon with Owen Wilson, or better yet get Jackie Chan's Hong Kong films and 48 Hours, one of the better of the buddy cop films.

Summary: Pure Greatness
Review: This movie rocked. It was hilarious, action packed and with a solid storyline. The acting was superb and the dvd transfer looks great. The dvd is also loaded with extras, including deleted scenes, commentary and interviews. This is a must have dvd. If you are a fan of JC this is a fresh change from his Hong Kong Cinema. Pick this one up.

Summary: Oh, Jackie...
Review: The first American produced Chan film. And it's obvious. Perhaps you Jackie Chan "fans" out there forget that Jackie is a martial artist. Have you all seen his earliest films? Man did they suck! Nevertheless, this film was a bigger disappointment because I expected more. Where was the hand-to-hand action I love so much? What was with all the gunplay? If I wanted cops playing with their guns, I would've picked up a copy Terminator 2. But I wanted Jackie to beat down, and I got very little of that. Maybe it had more American-accepted dialog and I suppose Chris Rock...oops I mean Tucker...was an interesting choice for a costar, but I get the feeling that Jackie was being led on in this one. That's just wrong. Jackie should always have the upper hand and creative control in all of his films. We trusted him in Hong Kong, why don't we trust him here? Why do I feel the hand of the evil Hollywood Glamourizer pulling on the strings of the action? It just felt all wrong.

Summary: The funniest action comedy ever
Review: I'm a big Jackie Chan fan, and I know everyone says he's done better films, but I don't care, in my opinion this is his best movie yet. It's Chan's first well-produced, not-dubbed movie, and it's actually really funny. The comedy comes mainly from Chris Tucker, who does a great job of getting laughs at every turn. OK, for a Jackie Chan film, there isn't that much kung fu, and no really breathtaking stunts, but it's still a lot better than most of the junk that Hollywood churns out year after year, and is a lot better to watch than all of Chan's previous efforts. Top marks!

Summary: Jackie Was Ok
Review: The fastest hands in the East...meet the biggest mouth in the West.

One's all talk...the other's all action! Jackie Chan (Rumble In The Bronx, First Strike) and Chris Tucker mix punches with punchlines in this hilarious action-comedy.

Cultures clash and tempers flare as these two cops from different worlds quickly discover one thing in common: they can't stand each other. With time running out, they must join forces to catch the criminals - if they don't kill each other first!

Summary: Amusing
Review: Enjoyable action film starring Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan.

A Hong-Kong detective (Chan) teams up with an LAPD Cop (Tucker) in an attempt to rescue the daughter of a Chinese diplomat; who is being held at ransom by an illegal artificats collector. Great Action scenes and a lot of laughs from Tucker (who definitely seems to be a cross between Eddie Murphy and Jaleel White - aka Steve Urkel). But one can only cringe when Jackie Chan opens his mouth. Most humour is wasted on him, but he can be funny in an innocent way. Luckily, his martial-art skills make up for it.

Summary: jackie chan = great movie
Review: i have yet to see a jackie chan movie that i don't like. even the contrived and cheesy scenes are still amusing. overall, the plot is fairly standard, and chris tucker's voice gets annoying, but the action scenes more than make up for it. chris tucker is funny, but he seems to always be playing the same character.

regardless, it's a great movie and well worth owning.
