Review: This is one of the weakest entries in the series, but it's still a Bond movie. If you like Bond, there's some good stuff here. If you don't, this isn't the Bond movie that's going to change your mind.

The negative points are plentiful. The plot is uninspired and ends up being more formulaic than it could have been (Scaramanga ends up as just another bad guy out to take over the world, more or less). There are also more holes in the script than usual, and the action sequences aren't very stirring. The movie feels cheap in a lot of ways, too. For example, compare the spectacular SPECTRE volcano base in YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE, with its legions of bad guys, monorails, rockets, and such to Scaramanga's underground base - an unimpressive solar energy plant whose total enemy manpower consists of an incompetent technician/guard and a dwarf.

On the plus side, though, Moore is pretty good as Bond, and Christopher Lee is absolutely top-notch as Scaramanga. It's reportedly one of Lee's favorite film roles, and you can see why. Scaramanga really comes through as a psychopathic thug who's trying to come off as suave and sophisticated, but doesn't *quite* manage it. It's a really good performance by Lee, one that makes you wish it had a better movie around it.

Review: This is by far the worst entry in the series. The problem lies with the movie itself. The film is just so boring. The chases are pointless. The two very small high points are the scene where Bond and Scarmanga are back to back with their guns and Moore as Bond. Otherwise absolutlely terrible!

Summary: ANOTHER UNDERRATED MOORE MOVIE
Review: Consider to be the nadir...the WORSE of the Bonds...especially by those who grew up on Sean Connery and the Fleming books, The Man WIth THe Golden Gun still emerged as an entertaining movie...more so that Dr. No or From Russia With Love. At least when I first saw it, I was not disappointed. Moore showed some real nastiness and menace in this film to get info on Scaramanga. Great score by Barry, although I don't really care about the song or the titles. Also very funny in bits. Britt Ekland is suitable comedic in her bumbling dumb blonde role, and so is Herve Villachaize as a miniature Oddjob. The end of the film in which we are shown Nick Nack's fate had me in stitches. Maud Adams is also great as the mistress of Scaramanga, proving herself one of the few models who can actually act.

Summary: An ok James Bond film.
Review: I just saw the actual DVD with the plastic wrapped around it, and wanted to buy the DVD tonight, but couldn't due to not being the street date. The film will be in Stereo Surround 2.0, Dolby Prologic I believe that is. It didn't say anything of Mono Sound. The plot was interesting, but at times not enough action. Roger Moore practically sleep walks through the entire film. I think an excellent scene that makes the film stand out is when James Bond gets help from two oriental neices who demonstrate brilliant martial art skills on a school of martial art students who are trying to go after 007 while he is escaping from the kung fu school in Thailand. A good car chase scene is added, also the showdown of Christopher Lee and 007 on the island. I can't wait to see the DVD version. This film though does not equal up to Moore's later ones or even Live and Let Die.

Review: I have watched this film numerous times before and I think it is the best Roger Moore Bond film. I like it for numerous reasons, such as: Scaramanga is one of the best villians ever and all his scenes with Bond are superb . I think Scaramanga is excellent because he seems more human than other Bond villians and is acted perfectly by Christopher Lee. Another reason is Moore's carear best performance as Bond, he is good in the action scenes and doesn't have alot of bad one-liners. Also I think The Man With has two of the sexiest Bond girls ever in the form of Maud Adams and Brit Ekland.Overall this is Bond at his best!

Summary: The Man with the Golden Gun: The Worst Bond of Them All
Review: The 9th James Bond film is the worst one of all the Bond films. The storie would have been a good "GET SMART" episode; because it lacked the diabolical aspect of the other films. The storie in a nut shell, for those who have not seen it. Some one puts a price on Bonds head and lets him know about it (gee, smart bad guy!). But the hit on bond is just a distraction to get bond off the real plot wich is to "Take Over The World"(This is Cayos. We Don't AH.. HERE!) slap in bad jokes such as cars with wings and cartoon sond afects, not to mention a pervert/killer named Nick Nack, and you got a movie that looks slapped together. The saving grace of this movie is its incredible cast. And Moore dose a grate job as James Bond. Too the revewrs who blame Roger Moore...GET YOUR EYES EXAMEND.

Summary: Walther PPK vs. Golden Gun
Review: Roger Moore once again returns as the suave agent 007 in Bond's 9th outing on the silver screen. I've read other reviews saying that it's the worst Bond of all. Well I'm tempted to disagree. I thought that this was an excellent movie with a moving plot and story-line. The movie starts out when MI6 headquarters receieves a golden bullet with the number 007 on it, sent to them courtesy of Scaramanga's girlfriend. This means that 007 is Scaramanga's next target to kill, so it's up to James Bond to find Scaramanga and figure out what is all behind this.

"The Man With The Golden Gun" includes some documentaries that look interesting. That is the nice thing I enjoy about DVD format, all the extras included in all of the movies. I can't wait to see the trailers and of course, the documentary entitled "Inside 'The Man With The Golden Gun.'" The thing I found dissatisfying is the widescreen aspect ratio of 1.66:1. I've never heard anything such as that, so I'm guessing it's going to be close to the formatted screen. It will be close, but we will soon find out.

This is Roger Moore's second stab at James Bond, as he seems to fit into the role much easier and much nicer. I felt in "Live and Let Die," he was a little uptight, due to the fact that he was relieving Sean Connery. Here, has found his portrayal of 007 and fills the role nicely. I enjoyed this movie very much and can't wait to see it on DVD.

Review: For those of you saying that this is "one of the worst movies..." you are wrong. It is "THE worst movie..." There is nothing positive to say about this movie. The plot is tired, the stunts are tired, even John Barry's music is tired. The title song is just plain awful. And why is this DVD with an aspect ratio of 1.66:1

The highlite of the movie is the "blood-eye" shot, and its downhill from there. Bond's not even in the teaser.

This is a bad movie and everyone involved knows it. Well there is one positive thing that came out of the movie: it made the producers realize that if they made their next movie near as bad, Bond would likely go belly-up. They made "The Spy Who Loved Me" instead.

Summary: Why do people hate this movie?
Review: A lot of people cite this as Roger Moore's (or even the series) worst film. I like it, though not as much as many others. The whistle sound effect on the car jump must have made Ian Fleming roll in his grave, though. Scaramanga is awesome, as is Moore. If you really want bad Moore check out Octopussy.

Review: It is probably the worst of the Bond movies, but The Man With The Golden Gun isn't bad. Its fun to see the stunts and Christopher Lee is probably the best bad guy in the entire series. This is the cult favorite of series, but in my opinion it doesn't compare to Goldfinger or OHMSS. Its still great though and worth a couple of watchings.
