Rating: Summary: Fighting. What else do you need in a martial arts movie? Review: I like this movie for 3 reasons.1. They don't waste too much time getting the plot started and once they get to the action its basically one fight after the other. 2. Van Damme can't act and he didn't try too. He just beat up a bunch of people and did his neat little jump kick a few times, which is what he does best. 3. It has Bolo Yeung in it.
Rating: Summary: This film really started a genre Review: MArtial arts movies were dead before Bloodsport. This movie is a modern classic. Van Damme isn't a Charlton Heston, but he does the job. I give it 5 stars because this is one of the most ENTERTAINING movies around, and many critics forget that. There have been many ripoffs of Bloodsport, but this started it all.
Rating: Summary: One of THE WORST martial arts flicks ever! Review: All right...in this genre of film, the only saving grace is usually the choreography. The acting almost always bites, the stories are unoriginal, and the characters are just too cheesy for words. But this movie had some of the worst fight choreography I've ever seen. I'll admit that I'm a fan of the old school, but there are several "modern" chop-socky flicks I like - "Revenge of the Ninja," most of Jackie Chan's 80/90's work...heck, even the first "Lethal Weapon" counts (the end fight does, at least). But this movie really sucked. Truly. ESPECIALLY the fight scenes. Now, I hate it when they speed the film up to make the moves look faster, but these guys were moving WAY too slow and the movements were simply NOT REALISTIC. So Bolo's winning the fight, and suddenly, he can't put up a guard against a flying spin kick? huh? Van Damme's movies generally bite anyway, but this one was just atrocious. Probably his best one to date is "Kickboxer." But this "classic" shouldn't be preserved...just let it rot like the garbage it is.
Rating: Summary: Bloodsport Review: haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Rating: Summary: Van Damme is superb!!! Review: Bloodsport is the best fighting movie of all time Van Damme is the $h*t
Rating: Summary: Good but Kickboxer was better and had a better bad guy Review: I thought this was good but Kickboxer was alot better and Bolo Yeung's Chong Li was a good example of how sore losers can actually be.This is still good to watch though.
Rating: Summary: We need more good old fashion fighting movies like this. Review: This movie is awesome! My favorite scence is when Van Damme fights Bolo Yung. This movie is for real men.
Rating: Summary: Alright, but... Review: If all you're looking for is a cool fighting movie, then this is probably it. The scenes of the actual Kumite aren't bad, and a lot of different styles are represented (muay thai, kung fu, western wrestling, sumo, etc...). However, first let me say that this movie isn't accurate of Frank Dux's life, and second, Dux-ryu is a joke. I lowered my review of this movie just because they tried to pull it off as being a biography. Whatever... But it's still worth watching because there are many fighting scenes that are fairly well done. If you enjoyed this movie, I would also recommend Van Damme's "Kickboxer" (ONLY the first one, the rest were bad).
Rating: Summary: I love it! I love it! Review: I love this movie,it portrays the best karate moves and probably the best ever Van Damme flick!
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Review: I think that Jean Claudes potrayal of Frank Dux' life was extremely inspirational!
