Summary: Best of Next Gen. films for capturing spirit of TV series
Review: If you loved the Next Generation TV series, you'll love this film. They didn't sell out to the broader non-trek crowd. If Armagedon is you idea of Sci-Fi, stay away.

Summary: MAKE THE NEXT ONE LIKE THE FOLLOWING ANIMATED FILM:
Review: TEH SECRET OF NIMH- THEN YOU CAN BOAST ABOUT IT ALL YOU WANT SINCE THAT FILM IS EASILY THE GREATEST ANIMATED FILM EVER THANKS TO INGENIOUS STORY WRITING AND A UNLIMITED SPECIAL EFFECTS BUDGET. CONSIDERING IT WAS MADE IN 1982(THE YEAR OF THE GREAT FILMS-BLADERUNNER, TREK 2, ET, NIMH) IT WAS MADE LOOKING AS IF IT COULD BE PASSED OFF FOR 1992. AND KNOWING PARAMOUNT, THEYD MAKE A TREK FILM USING NIMH 2 AS A ROLE MODEL WHICH OF COURSE WAS THE WORST SEQUEL AND FILM EVER! BUT WHY WOULD THAT COME AS NO SURPRISE???

Summary: Is This Supposed To Be A Film? Write A Good Film For Once!!
Review: Granted this film had the best morals and provoking thoughts than any film to date but who does paramount think they are making this cheese wagon of a film and trying to pass it off for a movie? Everyone associated with star trek need to be fired away from it except for ira stephen behr as someone wrote earlier who made ds9 one of t.v.'s greatest series. Yes folks-special effects have a lot to do by making a movie or episode entertaining-and so do battles in space or on the ground. People like war-look at 2, 6, and 8- duh! the best films in th series. As for Paramounts plans to dump all of the current casts for the next movie and series, dont do it or you will kill off whats left of your fan base. I had so much expectations for this film especially when i saw the trailers-- and now I cant forgive paramount for disappointing me so badly. Well- Jar Jar Episode 1 wasn't all that good either but at least it was entertaining unlike Trek 8 with its "here take this humor and like it no matter what" attempt at comedy. Action? What action? And what the heck is the deal with the Joystick Frakes?! Talk about embarassing to be a trek fan! If Voyager doesnt come around like DS9 Did in its 3rd season this upcoming Fall- I'm a Trek fan no more. Heres a story idea Paramount: Borg/Dysons Sphere/Dominion/make like Starwars and destroy the Federation and bring it back stronger than ever in a 125year later from the current timeline movie. Duh!! and Paramount, get rid of Berman and Moore and Braga- they ruined this saga and so are you if you dont wake up!!!!

Summary: PARAMOUNT HAS FAILED-ITS TIME FOR FOX TO BUY TREK
Review: PARAMOUNT HAS FINALLY FAILED MISERLY CUTTING BACK TREMENDOUSLY ON BUDGETS AND IT NOW APPEARS THAT ALL CHARACTERS FROM THE CURRENT SERIES WILL NO LONGER HAVE ANY ROLES IN THE LAST TREK FEATURE COMING OUT IN LATE 2001. PARAMOUNT INTENDS ON RUINING TREK WITH A "LOW BUDGET " WING COMMADER SERIES AND MOVIE BASED UPON STARFLEET ACADEMY. THIS WILL NO DOUBT BE THE FINAL FAILURE FOR THE DYING FRANCHISE. FOX CAN SAVE THIS EPIC BY BUYING IT OUT AND GIVE US WHAT WE REALLY WANT-- A GREATLY WRITTEN ACTION-PACKED BLOCKBUSTER, SOMETHING PARAMOUNT COULDNT EVEN DO WITH FIRST CONTACT AND KEEP EVERY WRITER/DIRECTOR/PRODUCER EVER ASSOCIATED WITH TREK AWAY FROM IT (EXCEPT FOR IRA STEPHEN BEHR WHO GAVE US THE IMPROVED DS9 WITH THE DOMINION WAR-TO BEHR, THANKS A LOT!).

Summary: Perhaps the concept is getting tired..
Review: One of the things that has always been a problem with Star Trek (all flavors) is the tendency to lower the plot level to elementary-school levels. One person is always good, another always bad. There's no grey area, and the good guy always vanquishes the bad guy, followed by a lecture from a social worker.

The effects were good, as usual, though not spectacular. Maybe my standards are going up, but, I think this is the last Star Trek movie for me.

Summary: Wonderful Star Trek Fun
Review: Those giving ST a bad review need to lighten up and enjoy the fantasy offered by ST and all the fun characters. I am a die hard ST fan and enjoyed every minute of Picard's bald head and Troi's "boob" inquiry. The movie was lighthearted and fun! Enjoy ST fans.

Summary: Insurrection could've shined but stumbles.
Review: Insurrection begins with a supurb teaser opening with Data running amuck on the peaceful Baku planet. Downhill from there. While trying to maintain ultimate 'cuteness', this film becomes silly and unfulfilling. Frakes decides to deep six the starship models and opts for CGI only - and it shows. When I saw this movie in the theater I thought the Enterprise looked fuzzy because of the screen I saw it on (although it was at Mann's Chinese theater in Hollywood!). Upon DVD viewing I saw that all the starship shots are fuzzy because of the CGI rendering. They almost look video game-ish. Nothing, plot-wise, is taken to fruition, except the warmed up left-over we've eaten once before - the bad guy gets blown up in the end. Stewart and co-stars are capable of so much more - let's hope the next time the crew dons their space tights they become three dimensional characters that are actually headed somewhere.

Summary: Not the best Star Trek movie
Review: This movie did have a somewhat interesting plot; however, I was left with some questions. This movie did seem more like an episode than a full-scale movie. I enjoyed the humor in it but I couldn't figure out why the Enterprise would be involved in something so irrelevent as 600 people on a planet. Especially after the first two Star Trek:TNG movies dealt with the assimilation of Earth and the near destruction of an entire solar system with billions of people. This plot did not measure up, but it was interesting. I can be critical of this movie, but I still loved it because it was Star Trek.

Summary: A two-hour Next Generation episode (nothing more/less)
Review: I am a huge fan of the Next Generation TV series, and I enjoyed this movie because, of the three, this movie is most true to the series. The first two movies were entertaining, but so self-conscious in trying to be "bigger" than the series. In short, they tried way too hard. I felt like I was watching charicatures of the crew rather than the well-developed, round characters I had come to know. This edition plays like a typical Next Gen episode - the characters say things that make you laugh at loud at their idiosyncracies, a moral/logical problen faces the crew, and space battles are minimal. It makes you think a little, and it is fun. So this movie won't please fans looking for a spaceship shoot 'em up. But I don't see how these fans could have sat through the TV series either. Extended space battles are not what it was about. And when they have tried to make the movies this way, the foundation of Star Trek has been unable to suport this type of plot. It just comes off looking silly. By staying true to the series, fans of The Next Generation will walk away from this film feeling just like they did after a good episode.
