Summary: Much better than I thought; an American version of 007
Review: I didn't expect much when I started watching this movie but I was pleasantly surprised by how well-done it was and how much I liked it at the end. This movie is like a Generation X version of 007. Vin Diesel does a great job of portraying Xander Cage (a tough guy who enjoys extreme sports) who becomes recruited by the NSA to do espionage on some renegade ex-Soviet soldiers who try to set off biological/ chemical weapons in Prague and kill millions of people. The movie is a homage to 007 in many ways. The villain seeks to wreak destruction upon the world through biological/chemical weapons and his headquarters is a fortress on top of a mountain. The villain's attractive girlfriend is not who you think she is. Xander Cage receives neat gadgets from someone very similar to "Q". Using these gadgets, his brains, and his muscles, XXX barely escapes the clutches of the bad-guys. I'll leave you to guess whether XXX accomplishes his mission, saves the world and gets the girl.

The pacing of the movie is fast and the action sequences are outstanding. Some of my favorite sequences are when Xander gets out of trouble by snowboarding down a staircase using a plate tray and later he escapes by snowboarding down a mountain ahead of an avalanche. XXX also gets out of a tight spot in Columbia by riding a motorcycle on top of farm houses and over barbed wires. The stunt work is just as exciting as those in 007 movies.

I really liked this movie and I think it ranks with the best of the recent 007 movies (I, too, am a Bond-fan). If you like action, excitement, and great stunt-work, you would like this movie. Highly recommended!

Review: My husband and I both really enjoyed the film, we had a lot of fun watching it! The stunts are great and Diesel is the perfect fit for this role. What a hunk! Bravo! Bravo!

Summary: Don't Waste Your Money
Review: I'll admit, I'm not a big Vin Diesel fan...even though I thought he did pretty well with the couple of lines he had in "Saving Private Ryan". Having said that, this has got to be one of the worst action films I have ever seen. I watched a borrowed DVD and I'm glad I didn't spend any money on it. This movie was so bad that my son and I were actually laughing at the action shots and how ridiculous the story line is. Come on now folks...a daredevil, motocross ridin', skateboardin', snowboardin', skydiver turned special agent??? Give me a break!!! Even the Bond films make the special agent a little more believable than this!! I thought the movie was bad when one of the action sequences shows Vin Diesel jumping over a storage building with his motorcycle, which is blowing up at the same time(the ramp was just sitting there waiting for him to jump the building I guess...lol)...but then when it got to Diesel sliding down a stair rail using a serving platter, then I knew how horrible this film really is. I won't even mention the snow avalanche sequence...how incredibly stupid. To sum it up...if you're a teenager who absolutely loves Vin Diesel and movie quality doesn't matter, then waste your bucks and buy this film...but to everyone else, don't waste your money.

Summary: The best movie of all time...if you're 12 years old!
Review: XXX is like that popular girl that everybody wanted to date in high school. Y'know the one, the hot homecoming queen that is so popular you figure she's got to be great and you dream about going out with her. Problem is, when you finally do...you wonder what the big deal was because she's got no personality and is as boring as an insurance sales convention!! And not as pretty as you thought she was, either!

This movie is all marketing and technique and loud annoying German techno-metal, but there's nothing cool about it! How can that be when you're talking about a movie about an extreme athlete who becomes a secret agent? I have no idea how, but they've made it lame.

You get the feeling that the movie was spawned during a meeting of studio execs when some "genius" had the idea of a guy outrunning an avalanche with a snowboard. They just needed a way to fit it in a movie...the result is a remarkably boring and overwrought piece of dreck, and also one of the five most fake movies of all time! A heat-seeking missle homing in on a cigarette? C'mon now, this is utterly absurd!

Maybe if they had tried to make the movie a little more fun, a little more tongue-in-cheek, it might've been okay. But it takes itself way more seriously than it ought to...and the result is derivative and laughable. It's on par with the worst of the James Bond movies...which is pretty bad (ever see "License to Kill"?)! Everyone associated with this should've known better! 5/10.

Review: well to start things off, when i found out bout my favorite band being RAMMSTEIN, and them performing in the film, i atuomatically wanted to see it for that alone reason because im aware of their explosive shows(literally speaking).but to my surprise, they started the moive off. before the movie even starts, the song "Feuer Frei!" starts up and eveything picks up from there. i was happy when i saw that the camera was actually on them and was able to see most of the performed song. i was a little unhappy bout the fact that the song was the studio version and was not recorded live. but anyways, back to the movie....well as said prior , yes their were some cliche bond moments percieved while i was watching. but the twist is that unlike bond, x or xander goes in on the bad guys side at first and for a while makes u wonder if maybe he'll change sides. but the thing that really struck me was asia argento or yelena....can anybody say HOT AS HELL? the action sequences were very well thought out especially the drug bust scene. all in all i would recommend to at lest rent it but buying it is also an option

Summary: Lame attempt at action
Review: ...I don't even know where to begin. With the terrible CGI effects? How about the cheesy, unbelievable plot that makes any Bond film seem like reality? No, lets start with how all the mindless action scenes somehow succeed in not being interesting. Since this is supposed to be an action film, these scenes are supposed to be the main thrust behind it. But they're not. On the surface they look like they should be fun, but somehow they're not. ... Vin Diesel's crook-turned-secret agent just isn't interesting to me. And it's not because he's a criminal, rooting for a bad guy can be fun. He just doesn't carry that cool aura around him, such as James Bond or Blade. To make an action film work, you need a central character who is fascinating to watch, and personally, Vin Diesel here is about as fascinating as c-span.

The absurd plot of having a criminal do a secret agent's job on behalf of the United States doesn't help, either. I can hold disbelief off during a movie if it is handled right, but from the start I could see XXX was derailing from this department. I just didn't buy it as the movie presented it. The bad CGI effects were also very distracting. Scenes such as one concerning an avalanche look like it was rendered five years ago. CGI keeps reaching new standards, and if you don't keep up with it, you shouldn't use it. Surprisingly enough, however, the acting, while nothing special, isn't to bad. Sure Vin Diesel is no acting god, but he doesn't give a cringe-worthy performance here. And while Samuel L. Jackson's talent is pretty much wasted here in his role as Diesel's boss, no one delivers poorly.

XXX is best not seen at all, unless you're a big Vin Diesel fan. There wasn't much here to admire, and what is, truly isn't worth the time to view. Stick to Bond.

Summary: highly entertaining
Review: Want to watch "Mike Bibby" of the Sacramento Kings in action - then watch this movie. probably Vin Diesel and Bibby were separated at birth. Fake russian, fake tattoo - still the movie is quite entertaining. This is a different genre of movie from the James Bond movies. This probably is the "hip hop" bond. Vin Diesel's acting is worse than my cat trying to sing "beat it" but he has a presentable figure, which is not overly masculine. Samuel L Jackson is good in all season and always at ease infront of the camera. Actually except for him nobody else in the movie knows the "ABC" of acting. Still it is better than most Arnold movies. Well finally the story is same - save the world but you cannot really avoid that since Hollywood has a strange love with than theme.

Summary: Not bad but I'd wait for the price to go down.
Review: The action in the movie is pretty good. Kinda like a Bond for the younger audience. One draw back to the movie is while they filmed most of the stunts with several cameras for all angles, they couldnt decide which to use. Thus you are forced to sit and watch the stunts from EVERY angle. This is just annoying in that it takes a few seconds to make a jump on a dirtbike, but a few minutes to show it from every angle.

The chicks are hot and the music is great. Even the song by gavin rosdale isnt bad (even though he married my woman before I could).
