Summary: Bond with attitude
Review: A great action flick of a man who doesn't want to save the world, saving the world. Its a traditional Bond style of movie, with a ton more attitude. Bond for the X generation is what I tell people who ask me for my opinion. Therefore, if you like Bond style films, this is for you.

Summary: Three Strikes--You're Out!
Review: I was somewhat disappointed with this movie. I mean, Vin Diesel and Samuel L. Jackson are certainly wasting their acting talent on a movie such as this. It was not horrible, but it could have been better. The story-line in this movie lasts all of about 20 minutes, then dies--and it is slightly mundane to watch. I never really could identify a climax in this movie or the specific problem that was being dealt with. As a matter of fact, there seemed to be new problem or conflict every ten minutes or so. Screenplay needs improvement drastically! However, the stunts are nothing less than amazingly breathtaking! They were very intense, realistic, and . . . well, cool. Good job (to say the least) for whoever performed those stunts! Well, I didn't like this movie, but I cannot honestly say that I disliked it. My suggestion is to watch it--you might enjoy it.

Summary: cliched?
Review: ok so maybe slightly cliche ridden and sort of james bond esque, but dont you think that this is definately an improvement on bond, i am not saying it's better but definately a step away from the womanising alcoholic that is james bond, i mean XXX doesnt drink, smoke, bed every girl, and generally be a bit srrogant, but he is a bit of a crook?!

but as for the film, i think that vin diesel was the only man to play this role, as he is the only one big enough to fill the shoes, lol, aprt from that he has a presence that exudes confidence on screen.

the storyline as far as i know is original and the way he is brought into that lifestyle of the 'spy' is quite good, and i am shocked and in awe that samuel l jackson is playing a supporting role in this movie that i think he does very well.

as for the the other actors i think they all do a bang up job, as for the directing top notch and the effects and stunts, well i am putting a hat on to take it off to them as they kick some serious ass

Summary: Very disappointing
Review: I watched this movie because a friend said it was excellent, and claimed it was better than the Bond series. Being a Bond fan, I wanted to see weither James Bond or xXx was better...
I looked forward to the end of xXx. It bored me with its terrible plot line and not-so-witty comments. Also the action was a bit too far fetched. It was horrible.
Had it not been a library movie... I would have recycled it.

Summary: Fill 'er up with Diesel
Review: Vin Diesel is back and badder than ever in XXX. Diesel stars as antihero Xander Cage, an extreme gamesman who's had more than his fair share of scrapes with the law, and who is looking at a very long stretch in Leavenworth until he meets NSA Agent Augustus Gibbons (Samuel L. Jackson). When Gibbons offers him a job he is initially reluctant until he's reminded of what he will get in return, and then the real fun begins.

The thing I liked the most about this movie is the fact that it had a great plot and plenty of action, along with some gadgets that would make even an MI6 armaments master proud. The mix of plot and action was excellent in this movie, which is something that's not easily done. In a lot of films you either get all action and little plot, or you get all plot and little action. XXX has a perfect mix of both.

The casting choices for XXX were very good as well. Vin Diesel was the perfect choice to play Xander Cage, extreme gamesman-turned government agent, and Asia Argento was a good choice to fill the role of Yelena, the member of the terrorist group Anarchy 99 who ends up helping him as well as revealing her own secret life. I also like Samuel L. Jackson as Gibbons and Marton Csokas as Yorgi, the head of Anarchy 99 and a bad guy who makes some of filmdom's bad guys look like pussycats.

The XXX DVD included some very good extras. I especially enjoyed watching the Filmmaker's Diary documentary and was very touched by the fact that director Rob Cohen chose to mention late stuntman Harry O'Connor, who was killed during filming. (He could have just included the dedication in the end credits and left it at that, but he talked about O'Connor and his work on the film, which was nice of him.) There are also featurettes on the various vehicles in XXX, the "Designing the World of XXX" featurette, and 11 deleted scenes with optional commentary by Rob Cohen. There are many other extras, but I'm going to let everyone see what they are for themselves.

All in all, XXX is one heck of a ride.

Summary: Best actor!
Review: Vim Diesel is even a worse actor than Richard Gere! He should consider to work as a doorman again!! I give it 2 stars, because sometimes I am to lazy to think at the movies. So brainless entertainement is sometimes quite fun.

Summary: Action Fan
Review: If you're looking for a deep, meaningful flick, skip this, you're in the wrong part of the store anyway. But if you're a fan of non-stop action, great stunts and a watchable, often witty script, then this is prime stuff. The opening secene is a direct strike at the passing of James Bond to the new age an extreme sports, grunge spy. There's lot's of action, but script is surprisingly free of the cursing and nudity that has become so prevelent in most films of the genre. Instead, it stylishly focuses on the story of an extreme action fanatic forcably recruited into working as an undercover agent for the NSA sent underground into work in a Euro trash/terrorist cell. Samuel L. Jackson does a fine job with XXX version of M and there's even a young Q replete with all the gadgets. A classic GTO is the tricked out car of choice. The story may be predictable, as most of this genre is, but this is a good a ride as any - much like the blue GTO. And women (including me) can enjoy Vin Diesel, tatoos and all. He could use some acting lessons from Sean Connery or Nick Cage, but he is great to watch. All in all, just a good way to escape for a time.
