Summary: Great movie, great cast, the music needed work.
Review: I said it all in the summary, really. I liked the plot

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The most amazing cinema I have ever had the pleasure of.
Review: From the very start of this epic, one is amazingly absorbed into the medieval community which is so eclectic. You find yourself being tossed into a swirling cauldron of uncomprising love the likes of which has never existed between a wolf and a hawk before.

The true mastery of Hauer, the boyish heroics of Broderick and the wild abandonment of Pfeiffer is only truly, madly, deeply realised upon the majestic arrival of Leo "the lionheart" McKern.

The evil of His Emminence the Cardinal is a suprisingly inadequate force when pitted against the galant, dark courage that Hauer shows in his quest for the return of Pfeiffers love and affection. A must for all keen ornathologists.

Summary: Good Movie Bad Music
Review: Very good movie the only complaint is get good music like holy stuff like Conan The Barbarian used not this Jazy stuff. And a little better story line.

Summary: A mystical, comedic, sad, fairy-tail-like love story
Review: This is a marvelous film, highly recommendable, even to people who aren't particularly intrigued by fantasy films. This is the story of two lovers separated by night and day-the man turns into a wolf at night, and the woman into a hawke during the day. Matthew Broderick instills a true comedic sense to this film, and Pfeiffer and Hauer are extroardinarily believable. This is a lovely tale, and allthough it is obvious fantasy, the viewer will watch it as though these type of problems- magicians and things- actually happened a long time ago. Well acted, good script, and beautiful visuals...that says it all.

Summary: One of my all-time favorites.
Review: The plot of this movie is intriguing and unusual; it is part medieval fantasy, action, and love story. Casting is wonderfully done with rugged, tall and handsome Denmark native Rutger Hauer as character Etienne Navar, ex-captain of the guard in a medieval French town ruled by an evil bishop. Navar is in love with Isabeau, played by the surrealistically beautiful Michelle Pfeiffer. The evil bishop (who also loves Isabeau), discovers the romance between Navar and Isabeau and curses the lovers, turning Navar into a black wolf by night and Isabeau into a hawk by day. Thus the lovers Isabeau and Navar travel together and are inseparable, but can never see each other in their human forms. Mathew Broderick plays a young thief who becomes reluctantly entangled in the story of the lovers and ultimately helps them to fulfill their destinies. This is a movie that appeals to a varied and vast audience.... a welcome addition to any movie lover's collection. It is appropriate for any age level; there is no inappropriate content or language.

Summary: The ultimate fantasy experience!
Review: Okay, I'll say it. I loved the movie and I loved the soundtrack. Synth music just fits with fantasy, don't ask me to explain. As for the movie, don't get me started, I can go on for pages. The cinematography is brilliant; the acting is lovely (Matthew Broderick is especially entertaining); the casting is perfect. Extremely quotable, entertaining and masterfully executed. Who could NOT love this movie?

Summary: For immature audiences only
Review: Somehow in my mind I got this movie mixed up with Willow and purchased it on DVD. If you like (bad)early 80's synth music this is for you, otherwise the only apeal here is breathtaking cinematography that unfortunately gets swamped by both the music and the really really lame execution of what should have been a great plot. Did I mention how the music really interferes with my suspension of disbelief?

Summary: Great fantasy movie, excellent love story & wonderful action
Review: Ladyhawke was one of the best movies ever ignored by the general populace when it was first released in theaters. The storyline is right out of Grimm's Fairy Tales: Two lovers kept apart by the spell of an evil man sworn to kill them if he cannot have the woman for himself. "Always together, eternally apart." The score is indeed agressive, but powerful music accentuates powerful scenes, and in my opinion is entirely appropriate. This movie has romance and action and I would recommend it to anyone who loves medieval scene. The animal work involved is also excellently choreographed.

Summary: Enchanting - an excellent magical adventure
Review: Ladyhawke is one of the most wonderfully powerful love stories of all time! Just to think of what the two lovers were put through by the "evil one" - it was a test of all tests. They proved that they could be "always together" even if they were "-eternally apart" Love conquers all they say and there is no better way to show that is true more eliquently than through this story. The cast will suprise you again and again with their wit and wisdom - as well as an incredible music score that will make your heart take flight.

Summary: Interesting and enjoyable film.
Review: I was surprised that I liked this movie because, generally, I do not care for this genre. I think having Michelle Pfeiffer staring in it helped quite a bit. I was also surprised to find Rutger Hauer effective in his roll (normally he is subject to 'B' material at best). All in all, an interesting romantic fantasy that was handled quite effectively, although it did drag in areas and seemed to go on much too long.

As far as the controversial musical score, like anything in art, it's subjective. I happen to be an Alan Parson Project fan (Alan engineered the music), and Andrew Powell often plays the orchestration for the Project. Of course I really liked the music, but do have to admit, however, I felt some of the music seemed out of place for this type of motion picture. Maybe if they would have asked Pink Floyd....

Between 1 and 10, I give "LadyHawke" a solid 6 (and the somewhat misplaced musical score a 7--yeah, I liked the music a little more than I liked the film).
