Summary: Etchells and 505
Review: Absolutely the best in cinematography. The plot is a little weak but still one of, if not THE favorite movie of mine of all time. We need this on DVD!!! If there was ever a movie that would be well served by DVD, this is it. A must see for any sailor or wantabe sailor. I bet I've watched it 40 times.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Wow! The Ultimate Sailing Movie!
Review: The sailing in this movie is amazing...any sailer worth his/her salt has seen this movie at least three times, it is the quintessential sailing movie of all time! The romantic/angst-filled plot? There was a plot? I didn't notice. But hey, this is still one of my favorite movies of all time!!!

Summary: A true taste of America's Cup competition.
Review: I loved it, though overly dramatized; who doesn't turn the base and treble above real and boost the green to watch the game? Most of the race events have actually happened in America's Cup competition, some even in the 2000 challenge. The music in particular and the sound in general is superb. The International 14 sequence and the last meeting of the twelves was the best. I don't want to get on a rant but I only own about 20 videos total and 2 of them are "Wind"

Summary: Great sailing movie
Review: Great footage of the big boat races, please release on Letterbox DVD

Summary: Wheres the DVD? Great Movie
Review: Being an avid sailor, i must say, the footage is astounding, effectively capturing the medley of grace and power that is put into the twelves and the Americas Cup. When does this movie come out on DVD, it cant cost much!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Absolutly Exhilarating!
Review: Despite some minor sailing technicalities this movie is great. The scene with the Intn'l 14's are awesome. The America's Cup racing is sweet. Please release this on DVD.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A Great Film, One to Own
Review: Both movie fans and sailors can enjoy this film. This very well made movie somewhat documents the events around Dennis Conners loss and reconquest for the Cup in the 1980s.(in truth this fictional story is a combination of several Americas Cups from '77-'87) The cinemetography and sound is incredible, however some think that the romantic story is a bit weak. Sailors might find some technical weaknesses, however the movie is incredibly accurate in respect to real match racing. Undoubtedly the best sailing movie made to date, this is one to own on video, Laser Disc, or when it comes out on DVD.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Outstanding Cinematography
Review: This movie will capture the hearts of all sailors. The filming of the race sequences are remarkable. While those technically proficient in the sport may notice a few weak spots, it superbly documents the thrills and excitement of a race. A must see! Especially as this year begins with the 2000 America's Cup races. PLEASE PUT ON DVD!

Summary: Good footage, poor movie.
Review: Some of the sailing footage is fun to watch. My favorite is the 14's racing in Newport. The love story part of the film is silly and its adaptation to a sailing context is strained, but where the movie very seriously loses it, in my view, is in the weird depiction of "technical" aspects of sailing. For the most part, this is downright embarrassing.

The funniest is when they come up with the innovative "whomper" sail. I have heard non-racers comment on the movie to the effect of "Why didn't the other racers think of that sail?" to which the answer is, of course: "It's against the rules." But I have to thank "Wind" for coming up with my favorite nick-name for asymetrical spinnakers!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: One of my alltime favorites.
Review: My roommate and I were on our college sailing team when this first came out in the theater and we were mezmerized. What a GREAT movie! In that TV sitcom that Jennifer Grey is in now, she made a joke about what a bomb "Wind" was and I winced. The photography and the sailing in this movie are just so awesome! I echo everyone elses comments in that I can't wait for it to come out on DVD SOMEDAY!
