Summary: Lifelong fan of the Bandit and Sheriff Justice
Review: Smokey and the Bandit is an all time classic! Good action, great chase scenes, fast cars and hold your belly humor from the greatest of all time, Jackie Gleason. The all-star cast includes Burt Reynolds, Jerry Reed, Paul Williams and Sally Field as the sexy "Frog". Soundtrack is a winner too.

Summary: East Bound and Down
Review: I recently bought the King of the Hill soundtrack. Included on the disc was a cover of Jerry Reed's song "East Bound and Down," the song from Smokey and the Bandit. Hearing the new version immediatly made me long to see the film, which has been a favourite of mine since I was a little boy. This is one of Burt Reynolds best films ever and Jackie Gleason isn't too bad in it either. No matter what the best movie of the Twentieth Century is determined to be, there are two things wrong with it: No Smokey and no Bandit!

Summary: Funny, funny
Review: It's not the greatest Hollywood flick, but is it ever funny. Gleason is a show stopper as are many other supporting cast members (Big and Lil' Enos, Junior, etc.). Incidentally, that is NOT Texarkana, though in the 70's Texarkana was as far east as you could take Coors legally. The town in the movie is somewhere in Alabama....

Summary: a good beer run
Review: For just good fun, what could be better than an 1800 mile round trip beer run with Burt and the gang in the 70's? As road movies go, this one is a classic.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Fantastic flick!
Review: I recently bought this movie and relived the days when movies were actually cool to watch. Burt, Sally, Jerry and the "Great One" Jackie Gleason were absolutely superb in this one! By the way, what the hell is a Diablo sandwich??

Summary: Oh, Why Not?
Review: Alfred Hitchcock supposedly said he liked this movie. Wonder if he ever told a lie?

In Peter Gollenbock's books about stock car racing, some of the early bootlegger drivers claimed that the Bandit's driving wasn't too far off the mark as compared to real bootlegging.

So if you're expecting Olivier or something, this is not going to be it. On the other hand it is fun and it's a good excuse to rejoice in fast driving, Coors beer, black Trans Ams, and isn't that what makes America great?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Funny! Exciting! Awesome!
Review: Action packed from the word go. Some of the best car chases in recent memory. Jackie Gleason is hilarious and will not soon be forgotten in this classic fast car fast movie.
