Summary: Great Movie! HORRIBLE ending
Review: I honestly liked this movie. Sure the beginning was a little slow, but once the dragons came on.... WOW!! Absoulotly wonderful affects and beautiful dragons. But the the movie REALLY needed a new ending. Unlike the beiginning and and part middle which was slow moving (but great), the ending just happened way to fast. But overall, this is a movie you'll get your money's worth. :)

Summary: Lots of Puffs and one McConaughey.
Review: My favorite Matthew McConaughey character is Wooderson from Dazed and Confused... Right...on to the film.

Okay, okay, the plot isn't very good. But thats just how it plays out. As another Amazon reviewer has keenly observered, this is an excellent B-movie. So the plot doesn't really add up to the sum of it's parts. Get over it, this movie wins cool points.

Christian Bale and Matthew McConaughey play two survivors in a post-apocalyptic world that is ruled by dragons. Bale is in hiding with a small community of people just trying to survive, McConaughey is a dragonslayer...

Movies like this can be a lot of fun. Reign of Fire is. They have electricity, but not showers? There are so many holes in the story it isn't even worth attacking. Who cares? If you see this movie remember to leave your thinking cap on the shelf, it will only hinder your ability to enjoy this film. Seriously don'y you want to see Matthew McConaughey jump off a town and go flying at a dragon wheeling a giant battle axe?

Summary: Awesome Digital Effects
Review: The theatrical trailer and television spots were somewhat misleading to me. When the show opened in a modern British setting I expected to see the discovery of some dragon bones and a flashback to the past for an explanation of their origin. Instead I was greeted with thundering digital sound effects that I could feel through my body as the sound waves pierced the air and vibrated the floor beneath me. With that came the most detailed and convincing visual effects I have ever seen. Much better than Star Wars Episode II or the Jurassic Park series. I felt as if I was trapped in the underground construction elevator with the victims of an outraged dragon who was disturbed in his slumber.

The plot was weak and the story really quite slow, but each time I began to lose interest another dragon would appear and I would sit up and take in as much notice as possible. It made all the difference. Overall this is in league with The Road Warrior, Waterworld, and Dragonslayer with its tale of human survival against impossible odds. The suspected British hero is soon put out to pasture as an American hero proudly marches on the scene. But eventually the American finds his ego to be his undoing and reveals himself to be as insane as the Britishman accuses him of being. In the final scenes of the movie his insane drive to be recognized as the ultimate dragonslayer causes him to trick the Britishman into thinking that everyone has been equipped with weapons. The Britishman fumbles around in his weapons bag, only to discover that he has been cheated. Both the Britishman and the woman who is with them becomes bait for the dragon. Unfortunately the American makes the grave mistake of miscalculating the male dragon's actions, thinking it would behave as the females had. This is not the greatest film of all but it is a solid entertainer. I would gladly pay theater prices to watch it again. This will definitely be part of my DVD collection when it is released.

Summary: COULD OF BEEN BETTER
Review: This is yet another movie with a dark future instore for the earth. A boy named Quin is the first too see a dragon :While exploring the underground complex of a new development sight,in
London. The movie goes though a quick time jump into the year 2020 with Quin explaining the path of events that lead the human race too the brink of distruction.
Quin is now a unoffical leader of a surving pocket of people, who beging true too England & the dragon genra ,just so happens too be living in a castle. As if community problems & dragons are not enough :hear comes the knights. These knights are "Worse then dragons :there American",with there miltary transports.Enough said-the dragons days are numbered &Quin met the love of his life.
good points-very good dragon fx,& aireal fight sequence .
bad points-too much talk not enough caose:The 60's Godzilla wreaked more havock on screen.Put a bit more humor in this and it could be a parady of sci-fi & fantasy movies.

Summary: NAPALM BELCHING GOOD TIME!!
Review: Over acting, under acting, dialog from hell, corny get-togethers , he man tactics, fire breathing dragons (napalm) already dreary country-sides. Best man wins the girl. And in the end the French are shut-out, an hour late and a franc short. Oh well you know the french. A totally grade B movie and I liked it , with all the hamming-it-up-american's landed to save what was left of a rag tag society in merry ole England.
Director Rob Boman, who has a lot of great tv plots under his belt, X Files, Dark Shadows,Alien Nation, to name a few, really cuts loose with the fire belching dragons. Mathew McCaughhey, Fraility, U-571, Time To Kill, Lone Star(Van Zan) American dragon slayer has arrived in force with what is left of the army to kick some dragon-butt. And to direct the english on how to wipe out these dragoons. Christian Bale,(quinn), remember little Jim in Empire Of The Sun, and grown up Jim in American Psycho, Velvet Goldmine, well he is the leader of the English and the first one as a little boy to see the first dragon to come out of hibernation and thus the destruction of humankind. Van Zann has figured out that there is only one male dragon (it lives in London) for all the females, to fertilize their eggs, (rough job) and Van Zann says if we get this male, then the other 15 million female's will come to a screeching halt ( I guess), but anyway don't try and figure it out just sit back and be prepared for a really, really great grade B movie, only 87 min long. I give this flick 2 for bringing back these no brainer's and using some great talent to do it.

Summary: As Nutty as "B" Movies Get
Review: The first thing that comes to mind when writing about this film is that it's well, out there! It's like the Mad Max films with Dragons instead of Motorcycle thugs. This could have been a horrible film, but thanks to the script and casting, it works.

Christian Bale is most of the glue that holds this would be meess together. His level- headed character provides a fine balance to McConoughay's "tough as nails" American. And their relationship is a fine example of what's best in both American and Brittish culture, and the good things that happen when they are combined.

Rather than engaging in any "holier than thou" cultural mud slinging, the film shows us great things can happen when the best of two worlds come together.

Furthermore, this is a special effects film where the effects aren't more interesting than the characters, and isn't that refreshing?

Summary: Written in Crayola!
Review: There was no point in coming up with a plausible biological reason for Dragons "breathing" fire if nothing else in the script after the opening segment was believable."Atlanta native" has listed some of the more obvious plot holes in another review.Sadly the most interesting part of the script is the portion they chose to do as a series of Magazine and Newspaper clipings rather than as the movie.Even the CGI dragons, while possibly well designed, are poorly rendered. Most of the time they are obscured by clouds , flames, or camera moves. If you like dragons wait for the video. You'll be able to fast foward through the ludicrous dialogue.

Summary: Bury your dead at dawn.
Review: You will enjoy this fire breathing suare . How did Matthew McConaughey get famous? Christian Bale get's no ass in this movie because he doesn't play any Genesis. Some T and A would have been nice. Christian and Matthew go to London for a few days. Hasta La Vista Dragons! Basically, they have to kill the male dragon, the biggest doofus in London. Mathhew McConaughey drinks hard water, and throws quite a battle axe. LONDON! GOOD LUCK!

Summary: Naysayers are sorely mistaken!
Review: I went into this movie with the justification from previous reviews that it would be a film that was mediocre, familiar and (I can't believe someone said this) boring! Ok, let's review here, fire breathing dragons scorching the earth and destroying mankind! Someone please tell me how this can possibly be boring!!!??? The fact remains, here folks, is that Matthew McConaughey is about ready to break! All those movies you've seen him in prior to this one will be long gone from the minds of teenage girls everywhere because it's official, Matthew is our next action superstar! People keep saying it's Vin Diesel but they're already behind the times because Matthew is fresh and with the exception of U-571 has not really helmed an action film on his own...UNTIL NOW!! And a really good action film at that! I noticed one reviewer on here mentioned this movie won't attain a classic status-EGGHEAD REVIEWER FIND ANOTHER HOBBY-OK! This is a movie that will have amazing staying power for milleniums to come. It's got a not-so-conventional storyline that breaks all the rules about action/drama/romance and fuses these qualities with meticulous precision and first rate actors that actually know what they're doing instead of just looking pretty in front of the camera. This is more of a visual storybook rather than just a no-name summer flick. Yes, the dragons are exceptionally cool. One scene in particular comes to mind when one dragon completely wipes out an entire squad of soldiers. You can feel the power of this thing and the realism far exceeds that of any video game. Another scene that comes to mind is when Matthew McConaughey walks into a celebration of villagers who have learned good news after killing one of the dragons. McConaughey blows the crowd and the audience away with his phenomenally emotional speech. You really need to see the movie to see what I mean. My only dissappointment was Christian Bale! He just didn't fit this movie even though I am huge fan of him. We know he can change the accent of his voice and we know from "American Psycho" that he sure can play a complex character but what we're really looking for in him is something that just goes beyond the capabilities of this movie. This move belongs solely to McConaughey and the only thing good about Bale being a part of this is that he rides with the ensemble cast very well. My hope is that Bale embraces more dramatic roles that really kick arse! Go see this movie simply to witness McConaughey's new dramatic/action turn. After seeing this, you will quickly forget he ever played in "The Wedding Planner."
