Summary: =-)
Review: Robin Hood is a story of Good and Evil. The way the cast of Robin Hood:Prince of Theives did it was wonderful. The sceans where awsome, the new char. where great add in's to make the story interesting. I would recomend this story to young and all. May not be for the ones who don't like gore.... ;-)

Summary: Terrific Movie
Review: This is ultimately one of my favorite movies. Kevin Costner has such wonderful presence. I think he did an exceptional job. This is one movie that I could watch a million times, and never get tired off.

Summary: Lovely villians
Review: Kevin Costner was just plain awful in this movie. How un-Robin like can you get? Of course I was spoiled by Howard Pyle illustrations, but when I first saw this movie at the age of twelve I was shocked most by the fact that he didn't even have a beard!!! I thought it was lousy, then years later I watched it again and noticed just how funny Alan Rickman and Micheal Wincott were in it as the villians. The "why a spoon" dialogue is truly brilliant (well, almost). Alan Rickman really dominates this film with his hilarious performance. He looks like he was having lots of fun. I only give it two stars for the lousy performances of the rest of the cast, and because they killed off Guy of Gisborne way too soon.

Summary: Best Robin Hood movie
Review: I thought this was an excellent Robin Hood movie. I thought the casting was great. The best job was done by Alan Rickman. He was a excellent choice for the Sheriff Of Nottingham. He brought humor to the role, and pretty much stole the movie away from kevin Costner. I definitly recommend this one to anyone.

Summary: A good effort at the Robin Hood tale...
Review: Kevin Costner does a good job as the returning prodigal son to find England in a political uproar, but he seemed to accepted into the outlaw's band as their leader a bit too easily.

If the goal of the casting director was to cast someone who could play the most distasteful Sherriff of Nottingham possible, they hit the mark. I just don't see the sherriff that way. In my mind he was more of a functionary under a liege lord.

Where was the connection to Prince John? Where was the nation-wide conflict between loyal and disloyal royalty?

This is a good action adventure, but not the best telling of Robin Hood around. For an excellent alternative try the 1991 movie "Robin Hood" starring Patrick Bergin.

Summary: Robin Hood's the best
Review: The first time I saw this movie, I was completely awestruck. If you like adventure flicks, you'll love this movie. If you're a hopeless romantic, you'll really love this movie. If you like humor, you'll love this movie. If you like suspense, you'll love this movie. If you have ever liked Robin Hood in any way, shape, or form, you will love this movie. Because of this movie, I now love the entire legend of Robin Hood.

Summary: IF YOU LIKE ROBIN HOOD YOU'LL LIKE THIS MOVIE
Review: I saw ROBIN HOOD PRINCE OF THIEVES and I hve to say it was great and here's why. Even though I agree with a lot of people that KEVIN COSTNER was miscast in the lead role. I felt overall that the rest of the cast such as ALAN RICKMAN, MORGAN FREEMAN and MARY ELIZABETH MASTRANTONIO were more than great in thier roles and it made up for the above. Does ROBIN HOOD and his men triumph or does the dastardly SHERRIFF OF KNOTTINGHAM get his way I won't say just watch and find out So I would definatley recommend ROBIN HOOD PRINCE OF THIEVES it's a blast!

Summary: Simply awful!
Review: Kevin Costner ruins another movie (not that it wasn't already ruined by the script!). I think the way his line "We'll find saftey and solace in the trees" came out says it all. You would think they would have done another take.

Summary: The real version of Robin Hood
Review: I have been in love with the Robin Hood legend since I was four and sat watching the Disney version again and again. But THIS is the real version to me - the version by which I judge all other Robin Hood books/films. It's a long movie, and sometime borders on hoaky (the Sheriff, the statue gag), but overall the tone is exciting, intense, and fun. True, Costner's accent is completely American, but if we can forgive Meg Ryan in Anastasia and Drew Barrymore in Ever After, surely we can just let the intention and emotion of the dialogue work its magic. Full of lots of believable and/or funny side characters that steal the scene- Little John, Azeem (Freeman), Duncan, and all the usual (and some unusal) favorites. The romance is pleasant but not distracting - mainly the film focuses on the fight against injustice. And the soundtrack is brilliant - it absolutely ROCKS! This is a movie that makes you want to go out and free the oppressed. Well worth your time.

Summary: Ruined the entire story of Robin Hood
Review: Anyone who has ever read Robin Hood knows that it has that same humorous quality that the Three Musketeers has. The stories are always light and fun with plenty of action. This rendition is aweful. It doesn't even make a very good historical portrait. How many times does someone have to throw their bow on the ground. It took upwards of three months to make a long bow. Kevin Costner has an incredible ability to take a fantastic story and destroy it. Next time maybe he should read the book first. It's almost as bad as John Wayne doing Ghengis Khan.
