Summary: Best Movie In A Long Time
Review: Spider-Man: The Movie, is just what you need. A good trip from reality into the world of a superhero. And it couldn't have been done any better. This movie starts with Peter Parker, a lonely, geeky high school student who only wants one thing: a woman named Mary Jane, or MJ for short, to be his girl. It starts out with Peter Parker and his class taking a field trip to a mueseum. From there on, you get to see how Peter Parker develops his Spider skills, and how he gets better with them as the movie goes on. The movie combines enough action, suspense, great storyline, drama and humor to make everybody like it. Although the end is kind of poor, it will have a sequel, so everybody can rejoice for that. I think they picked the best actors for all the parts. All the costumes were designed well and everything is great. The only thing is, the Green Goblin suit looks a little goofy and it is kind of embarassing to the movie. The movie is fairly long, at 2 hours 11 minutes, but its worth it. In Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter, at about 2 hrs, I couldn't wait until they were over. But Spider-Man held my interest at the 2 hrs, not just because it was the climax, but I wanted more action. It really sucks you in to everything. This is the way a movie should be. Go see Spider-Man today. And then tommorow, and possibly the next day.

Summary: Spiderman
Review: i liked this movie. but... yes but it seemed weak and slow and sometimes boring. i liked tobey maguires portrayal, his mannerisms and he did an excellent job playing Peter Parker. The one liners and punchlines were few but nonetheless funny. still it makes for a good popcorn flick. maybe the dvd will have some cool extras...

Summary: FABULOUS!!!
Review: Just went to see this movie and it is marvelous. Kudos to Sam Raimi for staying faithful to the source material.
Tobey Maguire was perfectly cast as Peter Parker, and Willem Dafoe was terrific as the Green Goblin. Don't take the movie so seriously and just go and enjoy it, and when the movie is over, think to yourself... Wow! I wonder who he'll fight next, Doctor Octopus, how about the Lizard or maybe the Kingpin or...

Summary: Spider Man was a LOT of fun!
Review: I saw the film yesterday and was very impressed...and VERY entertained.

While there were a few predictable scenes, they did not detract from the overall enjoyment. The entire "How Peter Parker became Spider Man" story worked very well and was extremely effective. The cast was great and I'm sure this movie will make a lot of money. Unlike last years "Summer Blockbusters", this movie deserves every cent it makes.

A great start to what I'm sure will be a great franchise.

Summary: My thoughts on the New Spider-Man movie
Review: Hi I just saw Spider-Man the movie, it was awesome. I loved the way they stayed true to so much of the original idea of Spider-Man, having him start out as this geeky kid, then being transformed into so much more. The special effects will Blow you away, there were so many great scenes I want to see it again and again so I can be excited all over again. I've read Spider-Man comic books since I was a kid and I felt the movie did a great job of bringing Spider-Man to life.

Summary: One of the best I've seen in a Long Time!!!
Review: I have to say that I don't go to the movies that often (Mainly cause I don't have the time.) I also have never been a huge fan of comic books either. But come on its spider-man. I was totally blown away by this movie. I went on opening night and it was great. This movie exceded all my expectations. The story was great. Also the special effects added to a great story. I have seen all the other movies based on comic books, but this was by far the best. What are you waiting for? Believe the hype... go see SPIDER-MAN. You won't regret it.

Summary: Lee and Ditko would be proud
Review: This is not as much Sam Raimi's movie, nor Tobey Maguire's nor Kirsten Dunst's as it is a movie embodying the spirits of Stan Lee and Steve Ditko - the guys who created Spidey in the first place.

A surprise is this film is actually quite complex when it comes to human emotions and motivations. No one does anything without some reason (or something they truly believe is a reason), and in Spider-Man each person has their own set of complexity. The acting is excellent, particularly the scenes between Maguire and Dunst. J.K. Simmons as 'Daily Bugle' (the Flatiron Building) editor J. Jonah Jameson is truly terrifying in a bad-boss way. All the usual suspects are present; the bullying jock, the girl next door, and Aunt May. There is humor, and in a display of skill this humor grows naturally out of the situations, and does not feel forced.

The action sequences are dynamic - to say the least. Lee and Ditko imagined Spidey web-swinging across New York City at great speed. They must be delighted in seeing Maguire (who did at least some of his own stunts) bring Spidey's speed and agility to the screen.

Some may complain that parts of the film are slow (like the lead-up to the infamous spider-bite), but taken in the context that Spider-Man 2 and 3 are already in the works, we may well look back on the 'slow' scenes as a good place to catch one's breath. The only true problem is the Green Goblin mask. (I hated it in the spy photos, thru production, and especially right up there on the screen.) Other than that mask, this is a film that rocks hard and fast any time someone in costume is on screen, and seethes with intrigue when the characters are in mufti.

All in all, an excellently realised film. Some very young viewers may be startled by the action sequences.

Summary: All I can say is "Wow".........
Review: I've never been a big fan of spidey aka spiderman. But I knew I would love this movie, well me being compelled to anything with true and pure raw or unveiled emotions. It had good action I mean I haven't read the comics or really watched the cartoons, but my bro Bill has and he says they stayed quite true to the whole story line(course they did change some things to work for a movie and the web shooters, but I like the whole web coming right out of the wrist instead of those web shooter things better anyways.)

But yeah...I *Love* it. I now most people wouldn't cry, but I did...In fact I've been crying alot today, I can totally sympathise with "Peter Parker" not being able to have the one he loves so much...I mean that really hurts, he could, but yet he can't. Of course if you've read the cmoics you'll know, but if you haven't then well you'll know when you see the movie. Definetely lives up to the hype in my opinion. There were deep emotional connections with each main character. It was just so awesome. I heard their supposed to make 2 more, I dunno how they can top this one, but I'd love to see it done, or at least just as good!!! I don't want to see another "Mummy Returns"!!!

But this movie was just awesome, just don't have to many expectations. I may have, but I could feel the movie before I saw it, I could kinda sense it. And it gave my emotions the kick-start they'de needed for a couple of weeks(With God's work I use my emotions alot).

So I definetely recomend it. Its not just an action movie, its a very emotional film(In a good way!!!), thoughtfull, good strong charcters, and well its just plain good!!!

So *enjoy*, I honestly *HOPE* you will!!! Cause if you don't I pity you!!!

God Bless ~Amy

PS: Don't be suprized if you find yourself yelling or cheering in the movie, I did and so did some other people!! :D

Summary: Spider-man, a movie with an intricate web of fun!
Review: I actually got to see Spider-Man on May 3rd! In Japan it is highly unusual for a movie to come out on the same date as in America, there's unusually at least a 3 month wait. But surprisingly, I was able to see "Spider-Man" on May 3rd by getting reserved tickets! And I must say, the movie was so much better than I expected (and I had expected a lot!)

High school student Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) is while very smart is the school freak. His only friend is Harry Osborne (James Franco), son of scientist Norman Osborne (Willem Dafoe). He is also very much in love with Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst) though he won't approach her. So he goes through life ignored and made fun of. But Peter's life is about to be turned upside down when at a high school excursion to the museum he is bitten by a genetically enhanced super spider. At first thinking none of it, he goes back home where he lives with his Uncle Ben (Cliff Robertson) and Aunt May (Rosemary Harris). But the next day, he wakes up to find himself with perfect vision and also a more muscular body! Stranger things happen in school where he finally realizes that the bite he got has given him special abilities which spiders have, from amazing agility, strength, extraordinary senses, and web flinging powers. He soon finds out though that with his new powers comes great responsibility. Norman Osborne has got a split personality, the other side of him being the evil Green Goblin. Peter knows that someone has to stop him... could that someone be 'Spider-Man'?

I must say that "Spider-Man" has got it all! *ACTING*: Kirsten Dunst is very believable as the not-so-perfect Mary Jane with her family and love problems. You can't help but feel for her character. Then there's Willem Dafoe as Norman Osborne/Green Goblin. His scene where he confronts 'himself' in the mirror was remarkably well down, it takes an enormous amount of talent to be able to portray two different personalities like that. And I mustn't forget Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man/Peter Parker. He can show his expressions so well, from his shy smile to Mary Jane, his turmoil of grief, his determination to stop Green Goblin, and his excitement when he first tries out his superpowers. You can't help but become attached to his character. Though I have never read any of the Spider-Man comics, my father has and he was so delighted to find that the editor of the newspaper seemed to be right out of the comic book, from his looks to his attitude.

*PLOT*: Intriguing plot, making the two hours of the movie seem to flick by so fast. The story has plenty of surprises and twists, making the whole entire time very enjoyable. The first thirty minutes or so was very light, I was laughing a lot on the mishaps of Peter Parker's previous life to becoming Spider-Man. But from then on it became a little bit more serious, the ending climaxing to explosion of action and excitement! The end might put off some people but I found it highly satisfying. I can't tell what happens but I must say that the end definitely calls for a sequel! As for the humor and seriousness of the film, I always believe that most all movies should have the right balance of these two points. And Spider-Man was great, having plenty of humor to keep my laughing yet a serious tone to it which was essential to the movie.

*ACTION AND F/X*: The action is so well done that through the last hour or so of the movie I was on the edge of my seat! All of the confrontations of Spider-Man and the Green Goblin were very exciting, the last 'battle' (as there usual is) the most tense. As in the trailers, Spider-Man does not only get to fly and fling himself through the air, he also gets to do a lot of hand-to-hand fighting and kung-fu. Applause to the fight coordinator. The F/X were pretty real yet had a sort of comic book feel to it making it very easy to watch and enjoy. Watch Spider-Man fly through the air, send out webs, twist in the air in what seems like impossible moves, and fight evil with the agility of... well you know, a spider!

*PG-13 RATING*: The film is rated PG-13 for 'stylized action and violence' but I think think there should be added 'and for some language'.

So my conclusion is, "Spider-Man" is a GREAT film and I most definitely will be getting the DVD as soon as it comes out! Maybe see it in the theaters a few more times :-). I also recommend two other super-hero movies which are my favorites, "Superman" with Christopher Reeve and "The Shadow" with Alec Baldwin. "Batman" was also interesting though it didn't make much of an impression on me.

Summary: Ultimate Movie Matrix's Little Brother
Review: I just saw this movie on opening night here and as expected, it was packed. I waited for 3 hours before getting my ticket, but it was worth it. The special effects were breath-taking, the cast was the best, the showdown was excellent. I think this is better than the Matrix. It only had one problem that would have givin it 3 stars, but the plot, cast, special effects, and showdowns were too good. The problem was that most of the movie's special effects moved so fast, it was impossible to watch it all without getting a headache. But, this is the best movie I have ever seen. It is a must see to ever Marvel marveller and to newcomers as well.
