Summary: The Death of a Classic
Review: I really can't stand it that Disney has the power to take classics like the Three Musketeers or the Hunchback of Notre Dame and change them around so as to be unrecognizable. The book upon which this movie is allegedly based is wonderful, and the movie, to put it simply, isn't.

The movie has the same basic plot, but it has been turned into a typical Disney slapstick. Although the jokes are often relatively funny and the actors are obviously having fun with themselves, it really doesn't fit in the plot. The story of the book is also incredibly simplified, and the main characters have been given typical "hero" makeovers. Still, the swordfights aren't horrible, and Curry is great as a sadistic, sarcastic Richelieu.

If you enjoy fun, light adventure movies, then this is a good choice, but if you're looking for a solid adaptation of Dumas' classic novel, look elsewhere.

Summary: (promises to be) a timeless classic !
Review: This is a very entertaining and wholesome swashbuckling adventure-comedy which promises to entertain viewers both young and old. I remember watching this when it first came out in theaters, and I ordered the DVD as soon as it became available. Try watching this and "The Man in the Iron Mask" immediately after to get a feeling of "continuity" of sorts as well as an interesting juxtaposition the two films' respective interpretations of Aramis, Porthos, Athos and Dartagnan.

I'm glad that more recent DVD releases such as this one are getting more and more "pumped up" (e.g. with added features such as featurettes, music videos and the like). Pretty soon (hopefully) we might be seeing standard-fare features such as DTS sound and interactive / on-screen bells and whistles (ala Matrix!). In a nutshell : BUY THIS! It's worth it...

Summary: I love this movie!
Review: Oh, this movie is so cool! I love it! It's funny, and of course has action and adventure in it! Oh, it's the best!

Summary: Loved it
Review: I found this movie very entertaining... Oliver Platt (Porthos) provided some great laughs. Charlie Sheen (Aramis) was one of the nice looking ones. Kiefer Sutherland (Athos) could have acted a bit more bitter... but he did an over good job. Chris O'Donnel (D'Artgnan) no. I don't think he took to this part well at all. I agree with several other reviewers. He turned it into mush. Tim Curry (Car. Richeliu) LOVED HIM! He played that part two ways to the director... funny or scary/serious. The director wanted to go for the funny way, mainly because everyone else in the cast would be as well. I would have loved to have seen him play it serious. Rebecca DeMornay( ?) was quite good as a seductress. The man w/the patch (can't remember name) did fairly well. Wasn't the best performance, but wasn't mush either. I give this film only four stars, mainly because of Chris O'Donnel's performance. No,it didn't stay true to the book, but I liked it anyways.

Summary: Quite unusual interpertation, but very entertaining
Review: Have you read classic novel by A. Duma before? FROGET ABOUT IT. This movie is very different in all aspects from any of the books of the famous trilogy. Except for the names of the characters and approximate time of the story. Nevertheless this movie has some touch of genius that makes it a masterpiece. This is more a touchy and entertaining fairy tale where good always will won.

Summary: Michael Wincott and Oliver Platt get the stars
Review: Otherwise I would have definitely put no stars at all next to this film. Awful! Just awful! The only reason I own this (mis)interpretation of the greatest adventure series in the world is because Michael is in it. And even his character is all wrong! Whoever heard of Rochefort having only one eye? Well, yeah, this is a common American view of it... Oliver Platt is the only other saving grace as Porthos. Chris O'Donnell is horrible as one of the coolest characters in literature. And Charlie Sheen as Aramis? Who cast this thing? Oh, and how the story was botched... Please, if you love the book, don't waste your time with this film!

Summary: The FUNNIEST movie ever!
Review: I saw this movie for the first time last year and have watched it religiously ever since. It is hilarious! Oliver Platt is the best actor! The best part is when Dartanyon is about to be executed and the weirdo says "don't lose your head!" :o) You have to see it. I promise it wont be a waste of time.

Summary: An Absolute MUST SEE!!!
Review: Since my World Geography teacher doesn't like to actually teach us, he frequently allows us to watch movies as long as they're geography related (hehe). Well...last week he let us watch The Three Musketeers!!!! I was so excited because I had seen it before and knew it was good, but it was so much better the second time around. Unlike the documentaries we watch, this truly kept a group of 9th graders on the edge of their seats. No one would have guessed it was from Disney. I'm asking for the video for my birthday because it is one of the best!!!!! If you like action, mystery, drama, romance, comedy, or historic movies you must see this!!!!!!!!!

Summary: One of the best movies ever
Review: This is one of the best adaptations of the Dumas story I have ever seen. Execelent performances by nearly all actors/esses. I would have given Oscars to this movie!

Summary: Charlie Sheen is terrific
Review: I have always been a fan of Charlie Sheen but I loved him in this movie! The casting of the 3 musketeers (Kiefer Sutherland, Oliver Platt, and Sheen) was excellent. Also I thought Tim Curry did great as the Cardinal. It is an all around entertaining version with 4 great actors. It could not have been cast better.
