Summary: Great action with a decent story
Review: The Perfect Storm starts out showing the lives of the various crew members of the Andrea Gail and then quickly gets into the action portion of the movie. I don't want to give the story away, so I won't go into detail. All i can say is that the suspense was great, and so was the whole story. I'm glad I went and saw it. Definetly something to see this summer.

Summary: **The Perfect Storm -- Didn't live up to expectations**
Review: The Perfect Storm had a lot of problems. The character devlopment took way too long, and it became boring. At the time the storm was in effect they kept on changing scenes, which lost the impact on the main water vessel. The movie dragged on, and I don't think the boat could have handled what it went through. It's a total blasphemy towards boat technology. All in all, the story line was good, but they didn't make it interesting. It was a really boring me. I caution all readers to bypass this movie, because I speak the truth.

Summary: The Imperfect Movie
Review: I'll start off by saying this is one of the best films I've seen all year. It has GREAT special effects, a good story, and a very nice look. Set in October of 1991. The Perfect Storm is the story of a 72 foot-long swordfishing boat the "Andrea Gail". George Clooney plays "Andrea Gail" captian Billy Tyne who goes out into North Atlantic one last time before winter. Anyway, three storms collide and the "Andrea Gail" and the six fisherman aboard are caught in the middle.

Summary: AWESOME FILM---BASED ON TRUE EVENTS
Review: George Clooney, Mark Walhberg star in PERFECT STORM from Director Wolfgang Petersen (AIR FORCE ONE) This movie is based on an actual storm and events that took place late October 1991. Six fisherman including Clooney and Wahlberg are aboard a ship when THE PERFECT STORM catches up with them. LOTS OF EMOTION in this movie and it makes it even better knowing that THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED.

One of my favorite movies of this year so far.

Summary: "The Perfect Storm" is a pretty imperfect movie
Review: Well you might have assumed this "drama" was a comedy from the way the preview audience walked out of the theater laughing and that was after the final funeral scene! I was hoping for a good sea adventure but I was sorely dissapointed. This movie is full of cliches from the worried wife ("Don't go! Something bad is going to happen! I just know it!) to the "Old Salt" (straight from "the Simpsons" ) who sits in the harbor bar to the fake looking shark straight from "Jaws" who leaps up onto the boat to bite somebody's leg. In case you are wondering, this movie is about a bunch of stupid fisherman who go out and get caught in "The Perfect Storm" and may (or may not) make it back. The very best parts of the movie the only part where you actually care about the characters, are the scenes with the Coast Guard. When they show up on screen you really do start biting your nails and worrying about whether they will make it back. They should have made the whole movie about the Coast Guard and how they get paid to go out into storms like this and risk their lives to save fisherman who should have stayed home in the first place.

Summary: Not a Perfect Movie, But All Around Good Movie
Review: I recently saw the special sneak preview of the movie. This movie is one of the coolest sea adventure movie like other such movies i.e. Titanic, The Odyssey, and some other movies I have forgotten.

The plot is about fishermen wanting to fish really big fishes to get a lot of cash. Sounds lame, but then they are confronted by a storm. Not just any storm, but a "perfect" storm. I don't want to give too much of the story away, but lets just say someone dies, but who, I will let you guys decide.

George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg each gives a good performance and the story is pretty ok. What I really like about the movie is the ending and the music. The music is good because it is composed by James Horner (Titanic).

Not a perfect movie, but it has good acting, above average story, cool special effects, and an awesome score. I suggest you go watch it and see for yourself.

Summary: lukewarm
Review: I really wanted to like this movie but it came off as a bland viewing experience. A lot of it had to do with poor casting...Clooney (IMO) is not a good actor so without a strong lead, the rest of the ensemble faltered. I don't remember much of a soundtrack-a good musical score would of greatly improved this film.
As a New Englander, I find it quite tiresome to listen to ridiculous interpretations of the local dialects. Obviously most of the actors could not speak it, so the few who tried, looked even more stupid. I would of been happy if they had spoken in their natural accents (even if by fluke, someone was from the South, per se)-at least a viewer can justify it by interpreting the character as a transplant; a horrible rendition of a dialect is just that...horrible, and it is very distracting. The hollywood adaptation of New England locals always strikes me as an insult. It seems fair to state that these filmmakers from the west coast don't know enough about the people and culture of New England either.

Summary: No suspense whatsoever
Review: It's hard to get psyched for a movie when you basically know the ending. How can you sustain any kind of tension or suspense? That's a key problem with most movies which are deemed "historical". What most great historical films have done is examine the aspects of the history and demonstrate how the forces came together to create that ending. Think of GLORY or THE LONGEST DAY. They don't even have to be war stories. Think of A NIGHT TO REMEMBER or SEABISCUIT, for that matter.

The problem with THE PERFECT STORM is that there is no suspense, essentially. We know the crew ignored or were deprived the information that things were going to get a little rough in the North Atlantic, and its boat got walloped. I don't know how Wolfgang Petersen or the script writers could have created the suspense, and it's not a reviewer's job to make recommendations. But as it is, I found myself increasing impatient during the first half of the film. Let's just get to the F/X and get it over with, I thought.

The performances, I have to say in all fairness, are good, considering what the actors had to work with. The F/X were great, of course. But I still left this film with an empty feeling. Pass on this one.

Summary: I HATE THIS MOVIE
Review: This is the worst movie I have ever seen. I would give it negative stars if I could. It's sad that some people died in a storm and all, but this movie doesn't even make you care for the people who die so it is kindof pointless. It would be like someone making a movie about an idiotic boring person that dies in a car crash in the end. What is the point?? I want my money back for renting it.

Summary: Good!
Review: I don't own this movie on video or DVD but we rented the video for The Perfect Storm and I enjoyed watching it and I thought the special effects were good and I liked the cast, especially George Clooney and I recommend the movie and I just may buy the DVD someday.
