Summary: Apocolypse Now
Review: Apocolypse Now is one of the greatest war movies of all time. It is realistic, and suspensful, and has a beleavable plot, and great special effects.

Summary: Best DVD Translation yet?
Review: This might be the best translation onto the DVD format yet. The color is crisp and bright, the sound excellent! A scary and shocking tale of a journey into the darkness of the soul. While the VHS version always left me wanting to see it back on the big screen, the DVD lives up to the original's pedigree!

Summary: The way it really was.
Review: This film is as close as you can get to what Vietnam was like without having been there. I served in Vietnam 1967-69 and I can tell you it really took me back even after 30 years. It shows us the insanity that was the Vietnam War. Outstanding film

Summary: my first copy (lost)
Review: This is the best movie I've EVER seen (all 300 times). My first copy had all that special effects (napalm explosions etc.)at the end (during the credits). I loaned it to a (so-called) friend and he lost it. I haven't been able to find this version since. I am totally heart broken at the loss of this copy of APOCOLYPSE NOW..........

Summary: Best War Flick Ever!
Review: Apocalypse Now gives off a weird vibe. It grabs you as soon as it starts, and you get this weird feeling that you just can't seem to shut the thing off. You're just paralyzed because of it's INCREDIBLE images. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because it starts to drag off when they get to Brando's island. But his speech about horror will get you right back into the movie again; too bad there's only 10 minutes left afterwards. A great buy for movie buffs, especially if war is your genre.

P.S. The music in this movie is reaaaally freaky. It almost turns the movie into a bonified horror flick.

Summary: Brilliant
Review: This was the last great film made. There weren't that many before it ("Lawrence of Arabia" was one). There haven't been any at all since. Let's hope there will be some in the future.

Summary: where the hell is the director's cut!
Review: ok, a very very extremely long director's cut edition(unrated)has been out for a while. why has it suddenly vanished when i decided today to buy it? this movie is great, marlon brando is downright creepy in this flick. for some reason this movie reminds me of a very trippy James Bond flick with marlon brando playing Blofeld.

Summary: As Good As It Gets
Review: I also have the THX Laser Disc of this movie, but the DVD is far superior. The picture and sound are about as close to perfection as you will get.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Photography is beautiful, Brando is spooky...
Review: The helicopter scenes are amazingly shot, it comes together superbly. The eery music does it's job to a T, it creates an altogether synister image of Kurtz, epitomised in the sillouette photograph, we are left guessing what he has become, and why until the crescendo of the film.

Apocalypse Now touches on elements of this war which Platoon did not, and is an excellent abstractual depiction. Recommended!

Summary: An experience
Review: Its a fairy-tale in hell!

How can such a movie exist, that combines a cinema experience and shocking atmosphere this good, and still be a war movie?

Its not malicious like Deer Hunter, our coarse like Platoon. It's balanced to perfection.
