Summary: The Turtles Should Get More!
Review: I own this film and it maybe old, but it still has original action with the original heroes of the 80's. Just like the Power Rangers, they also fight off evil. come on, people. Rent or buy this movie, it's a REAL blast. Also look for "Ninja Turtles 2" and "Ninja Turtles 3". The're awesome too.

Summary: For those who put this movie down..
Review: Amazon's review of the movie I found to be poor, as the writerthinks he knows what he is talking about sayin the movie is based on avideo game and the only reason people went to see it was because kids find anything entertaining. Turtles was a comic book well before it was a nintendo game and an awesome comic book at that. That is why it saw the success it did, and the movie is true to the comic as it adapts one of the earlier storylines from the series into the movie. The characterse are strong, each having a unique, indentifying personality. Abeit, at times the movie had its childish times, but they had to find a way to get the kids into the movie as well, since Turtles had predominantly become something aimed at children, outside of the comic book. As for another ... outlook on the movie.. All storylines are based on common themes. It isn't stereotyping anything. Everything breaks down to a basic foundation, and then the author throws a spin on it. There was once a movie called Star Wars, which was as stereoypical as you could get, a princess, a wizard, an emporer. A traditional fantasy story but set in space. Full of sterotypes and I don't see most people bashing that because of its basic themes. So it really doesn't matter if the turtles are stereotypical of anything, or if them saving April from danger is stereotypical. It's done all the time in every movie. And as for the unrealistic karate moves, am I the only one that didn't notice or didn't care if the flying jump kick or leg sweep or whatever was done to Bruce Lee standards? I doubt most people cared. Unless you're Chuck Norris, you're more than likely not going to realize if a fighting move is done perfectly or not. So that is my defense for this movie. If you don't like it.. fine. Don't break it down to its foundation and insult when that could be done with any movie. I give it 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it to any Turtles fan. I wouldn't recommend its sequels though.

Summary: Cowabunga
Review: TMNT is an excellent movie for both children and adults alike. For adults the classic Ninja Turtle combat may not be exiting but it delivers a message of the importance of the family unit which adults can appreciate. For kids they get all the combat action they want and they don't realize it but a message about family is delivered into their minds. So parents you may not want your children to see violence but this is a must for every home.

Summary: Impossibly stupid...
Review: Boy, was this whole movie a dumb cliche. I heard all the ruckus about it & saw it out of curiousity & laughed, not because it was funny, but because the movie was dumb to the point of hilarity. So these four boy-turtle heroes fight crime & of course save the day. And they never experience self-doubt or get bruised. They do the lamest moves that are supposed to pass for karate kicks("Karate Kid"'s Daniel La Russo would FAINT at the sight), but is just a lot of macho posturing & showing off. And after each of these battles, come back to their hole all triumphant. And naturally they rescue April, who is supposed to be an independent news reporter, but comes across as a lame female stereotype. She tries to fight back, but has to be rescued by the turtles, who are stereotypical caracatures of what teenage boys are "supposed" to be like. April is the only female character in the movie, the rest are macho, posturing stereotypical males. Also the fact that there's a lot of violence & violence is presented as the solution to problems & is used to defeat the villians.

Summary: Not bad for a PG movie
Review: Cowabunga? Lame to many now, but then it was great before Power rangers infested the TV and then Pokemon controlling our kids into some Poke-cult. Well this movie was the last of the rough PG movies. That was before the parent groups got in the way with how extreme things get. This movie came out in a beautiful time when PG movies were worth something. This movie has well choreographed martial arts sequences, pretty funny as the young ninjas characters are, and it had issues. The type of issues that kids and parents share from generation to generation, unfortunately at the time parent groups focused their attention more on the violence. I am not saying that they are wrong. It is a rough violent movie, but I did not see heavy "actual" fighting, any blood. Blood as in oozing liquid. There was a death though (not truly as the next movie proved), and a couple in a memory so I understand that part, but in Bambi they shot Bambi's mother. Anyway, this movie has no "don't do this kid, cause it is bad for you" or "you evil villain, you will never get away with this." This is not like that at all.

Ninja Turtles used their trained skills and street smarts to survive and thrive, instead of using machines and alien given powers, or pokedecks. The four turtles were raised and trained by their master, who is more like a father to them, Splinter. Past meets present, where a ninja clan that used to terrorize Japan 'back in the day' has returned to the streets of New York. The turtles do not go out stopping this ninja clan, the clan goes after them first. The ninja clan strikes hard and does lost of physical and emotional damage to the mutant family and then, things get personal.

This movie is good the way it is, but if it was revised in a PG-13 way, a little darker, serious fight scenes mixed with Jackie Chan like fight scenes, some up beat music, then we would have a neat movie for sure. This movie is good as it is. No cheep computer Jar-Jar Binks animation too, machines and puppeteering always looked more convincing.

Summary: One of The Greatest Movies ever.
Review: This is one of the greastest comic book/cartoon to life movies ever made. Most movies of these kind get too kiddish, too corny, too . . . stupid. But this is a diamond in the ruff. It is a very serious movie, able to satisfy an older viewer, yet completely captures the light, playful, immature spirit that is in us all. Very fun to watch. If you love a good fight movie, than this is the one. Some of the cleanest (no blood and guts) yet realistic and very entertaining fight scenes. This is one of my favoraite movies of all time. I highly recommend it for the kids, and the parents. Don't listen to the critics who bash this movie in any way. This movie is a truly enjoyable, extremely watchable movie.

Summary: Awesome kids movie.
Review: I was about 9 years old when this movie first came out in 1990. My eyes lit up as if it were Christmas morning when I saw the trailer on TV for this movie. After seeing it, I couldn't wait to go home, get out all my Turtle toys and just re-enact the whole movie! I absolutely loved this movie and it really brings back great memories of how fun it was to be a kid in the late 80's/early 90's. The Turtles were my heroes (my hero now is Tony Montana from Scarface), so I kinda changed my views. But, I don't do drugs or shoot people and the Turtles are still as cool today as they ever were, kids just moved on over the years to things like Power Rangers and Pokemon. :(

Summary: The most entertaining kids movie ever
Review: The turtles franchise has moved on. The good natured entertainment of the cartoon has been unpopular for at least five years now. All good things must come to an end. What a shame that it was replaced by the popularity of The power rangers. A few weeks ago I watched this movie out of boredom and a lack of a schedule. I was quickly reminded of how excellent this movie is. I remember the controversy when it came out also. But this is done with such style and lack of graphic, that I wonder what ever angered these people. It has strong healthy lessons to be taught to children as well. Brotherhood is important, and never turn your back on a sibling. Its excellence makes me wish movies of this nature will eventually return to drown the franchise of the hideous Batman and Robin. I strongly recomend this powerful movie.

Summary: Amazing!
Review: This movie did a great job of bringing the turtles to life! But this movie seems that it is more for adults than kids because of the mild cursing. Yet, this is still a great movie full of action, comedy, pizza, and Jim Henson's special touch of movie magic with his greatly-detailed turtle puppets.
