Summary: The classic movies return on DVD
Review: I was three years old when I first saw this movie. I saw the cartoon and thought that the Ninja Turtles were so cool. I was like, "Ninja Turtles, cool!" I still remember the song... "Hero's in a half-shell, Turtle Power! They're the world's most fearsome fighting teens..."

Well, the movies, especially this one, are more closer to the original Mirage Studios comic books than they are the kids' show. But still, I thought it was cool and I still do. And when I saw it on DVD, I became ecstatic.

But to be honest, the only people that would buy this DVD are the people who are about my age, to bring back the nostalgia of our late 80s to early 90s culture. I'm not kiddng, all the kids shows from that era are gone ... now. Power Rangers, which was cool when it first aired, can't get any worse than it is now. Under the Umbrella Tree, that funky Canadian show, I haven't seen it in years. Maybe they still show it in Canada, in which case I would have to take a plane there from the most farthest away place from there on this side of the border to see it. And the original TMNT cartoon isn't aired nation wide, and there are only a few lucky people that can see reruns on local stations.

But at least these movies are being released on DVD, so we can remember the days of SNES and Genesis, and trying to memorize your multiplication tables.

Summary: at 18, still watch it!
Review: I remember when this movie came out - I was expecting to see something based entirely off the TV show (I wasn't aware of an original comic - most kids didn't). You know, Technodrome, Baxter Stockman, Rocksteady and Bebop, Nutrinos, Krang, stuff like that. This doesn't have any of it!

Actually, I'm surpirsed this movie managed a PG. In today's time this would get a PG-13. The hidden night club really had me surprised. It never crossed my mind to see a kid my age playing pool and smoking a cigar! I also never expected the foot soldiers to be human.

The movie has a mature overtone, with plenty of jokes and laughter to entertain both kids and adults! They did a great job with this movie - especially when they had limited ends. It seemed they could do a serious movie the way it SHOULD be, or they could do one based off the cartoon that only kiddies would like. They combined the two flawlessly. The movie has a kind of 'realism' to it. It's still fiction of course, but it's still based in the real world. The turtles themselves aren't perfect like they are in the cartoon. They go through turmoil, fights, and they get their butts kicked just like the real world.

I'll always like the strange palship that goes on between Michaelangelo and Donatello. I think the guy who really steals the show here is Casey Jones! That guy just kicks [...] all the way! After he's Wayne Grutskey on steroids!

Summary: How it all started
Review: This is the movie that lifted the turtles off the ground as if they weren't already, which spawned 2 sequels, and bunches of action figures. This made the audience of the turtles widespread, and it's also a great movie. It's great for kids, and it can also get adults interested too. This movie is so great, they're bringing back the director of this movie to make a 4 hour hallmark movie. Watch for it in 2003, THE TURTLES ARE BACK!

Summary: Always a Classic
Review: I was so excited when this movie came out on DVD, and I was not let down. This movie is and will always be one of the greatest movies I have ever seen, a classic if there ever was one.

Summary: Forgiveness is divine, but don't pay for late pizza
Review: 15 years ago, four baby turtles and a rat met with some ooze that turned them into mutants. These four brothers are known as: Michelangelo,Leonardo, Dontello and Rafeal (spelling?)
These four turtles are heroes on a half shell. They fight the evil Shedder, who is known by Splinter in some way.
A good movie!

Summary: Ninja Movie at its best
Review: This is what EAST meets WEST is all about.
We are talking about four Mutated Ninja Turtles roaming around the street kickin butts. This movie puts Van Dame to shame as the choregraphy outshines all other martial arts movies.

At the same time, kids learn to love animals such as turtles and sewer rats. This movie has passion, love, humor and action. I can't wait until the 2nd and 3rd ones are released.

Summary: A good effort . . .
Review: It took me awhile to grow up. I watched this movie when I was fifteen years old and I loved it. The script was good, the costumes were good (though not as good as in the other movies), and the fighting choreography was FAR better than I had hoped. The only thing that kept if from a five-star rating is the fact that I heard five and six year old kids exclaiming "Dam-!" after hearing Raphael in the movie. Children looked up to these characters and it was pretty irresponsible of the film-makers to make them swear like they did. This was corrected later, as the second movie had no vulgarities at all, and only the villain swore in the third movie.

Summary: One of my favorite movies as a kid.
Review: This along with Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure were my two favorite movies as a kid, and they are also two movies that have aged fairly well with me. I enjoy TMNT now just as I did when I was a little kid. I mean sure, its cheesy, but its meant to be. And when compared to the sequel and other such movies, you can see how good this film really is.

Summary: Still great at age 25
Review: I remember when this movie first came out over a decade ago. I had no expectations and I was in for a nice surprise; it actually turned out to be a wonderful piece of work.

Now I know I was only 15 at the time, but even today this movie holds its own as one of my all-time favorites. Good fast action, catchy dialogue and a dark & moody atmosphere. Okay, so all logic is thrown out of the window from the first second of the film, but given the main topic isn't that the way it should be?

The overall feel of "Turtles", with its smart punchlines, cool action and it's wonderful characters (Elias Koteas is THE perfect Casey Jones) is something that's uncommon in movies of this type. This is painfully demonstrated in "Turtles" two sequels, neither of which come close to the quality of the original.

I don't expect everybody to like this movie but I do suggest you to go see it if you get the chance. I doubt you'll be disappointed.
