Review: WOW! GLADIATOR is a MUST SEE film. It is the BEST movie ever made. It is full of adrenalin pumping action, heart grasping drama, bold emotions, and maginficent picture. Ancient Rome has never looked so good on a screen before. I have seen GLADIATOR 11 times and it only gets better........ well, that's kind of impossible since nothing can really get better than GLADIATOR, but you know what I mean. Russell Crowe is one AMAZING actor, he portrayed Maximus with perfection. Every actor and actress in this movie is AMAZING! I don't want to go on about EVERY SINGLE GREAT aspect of GLADIATOR, so I will say this one last time. GLADIATOR IS THE BEST MOVIE EVER MADE!

Summary: The Spirit of Rome, the Ghost of Romulus
Review: This was a fantastic movie. I enjoyed myself very much watching it. However, a few things must be set straight. The writiers of this film paid little attention to history. Commodus ruled for twelve years and began his reign qite ausipiciously, listening to the advisors of his father. The murder of Marcus Aurelius by his son is pure unfounded speculation by people with little historical conscience. Knowing full well the many historical errors of Gladiator, I must once again reiterate that despite these I loved the movie. It is indeed a very Roman movie. The ancient historians had no qualms about changing things up a bit here and there to make a few heros. The imagery of the field and the wheat is taken straight from the spirit of Rome and the pages of Livy, a Roman historian. The Romans themselves would have agreed that the character of Maximus was excellent. Of course, the special effects and the acting were good as well.

Summary: Gladiator
Review: A spectacular, brilliant movie, Gladiator is certainly my favorite of the year. Surprisingly deep for a supposedly action movie, it can easily be put in the drama section as well as the action one. Russell Crowe puts in a fine performance as a Roman general out for revenge, and Joaquin Phoenix surprisingly brings a complicated and human side to his villain Commodus. Crowe may have given his role power and heroism, but Phoenix certainly gave his depth and charisma. Aside from the two leading actors, however, the movie itself was surprisingly close to history. Though an improbable story, it was certainly a possible one; and it certainly brings back memories of a by-gone movie era. The epic picture may not yet be gone from the movie industry. A job well done by Ridley Scott!

Review: The new movie, Gladiator, is sure to win everyone's heart, whether male or female. There is something for everyone. For the men, there is of course the blood of the coliseum, and for the women, there's the wonderful, new(to some), actor named Russell Crowe, who is sure to win many hearts as he braves the challenges that lay before him. Gladiator is a great movie, recommended to all! My favorite!

Summary: Real Passion
Review: Gladiator Rocked! This movie grabbed me from the very get-go. The scenery was superb, especially shots of Rome and the Coliseum. Russel Crowe gave me goosebumps with the passion he had in both the fighting scenes and also through the death of Caesar and his family. This film gave me inspiration to be a better person, a leader, and stand up for what is right. I saw this movie 3 times! Twice in Dallas and once when I was on vacation in Dublin, Ireland. It never failed to move me.

Review: For such a long time, the roman empire kept off the silver screens. But it returns in a majestic way. This huge producton is one of the best movies of the year, with espectacular sets, a wonderful plot, amazing visual effects and a Russel Crowe like we've never seen before. Who would imagine Russle Crowe as a gladiator? Ridley Scott adds another great movie to his sucesseful career. Gladiator is also one of the possible nominations for the oscars of best suporting actor (Oliver Reed) ,for example. I'm not making publicity but, if you can, buy it! Buy it now!

Summary: Ave Ridley Scottus!
Review: Ridley Scott is back to business with this great movie. He succeeded in a very tricky business: bring back to life a dead 'genre'. Russell Crowe is convincing as the tired hero forced to become a legend. Miles ahead of Mel Gibson's performance in Patriot (or should I say Braveheart II - the return) Fantastic score by Hans Zimmer which confirms his supremacy as contemporary composer. The DVD offers a lot of bonus material. I'm disappointed as a french speaking person buying from Amazon that it offers no other soundtrack. I thought Quebec was next door?

Review: I went to see the movie and did not expect that much, because such a hipe was made around the movie. Well after seeing what i saw, I thought that it was excellent. I go to the movies about every week-end and watch a lot of movies. But by far gladiator seemed to be in a league of it's own, don't get me wrong I thought Braveheart was the best movie ever made, but after seeing Gladiator I beg to disagree. And I think for a long time the same with Braveheart, there will not be a movie topping Gladiator, even for the next decade, that's my personal opinion of the movie. So in closing the person that has not seen the movie do yourself a favour rent it, buy it or even borrow it if you canbut make a plan to see this excellent movie.
