Summary: West meets East
Review: Unsurprisingly, one of the best westerns once again comes from anywhere but America. Like "The Man With No Name" trilogy, "The Searchers," and so on, this anime concerns America's fascination with the cowboy, the frontier, the sidekick--with a dash of some sexy women-and mixes it with some Generation X cynicism, eastern mysticism, jazz, blues, rock, and funk.

I am new to anime yet I found this film Romantic (with a capital "R") and its characters seductive and full of charm. The movie doesn't add anything new to your life; rather it reawakens your old impulses of feeling young and immortal, dark and vigilant.

Whenever we see live action movies of this caliber, they are generally horribly acted and embarrassingly cheesy. The medium of anime at least has the chance to tell these types of stories, much like a graphic novel can. If you are new to anime, this is a good place to start to see what everyone has been watching.

Summary: Best movie released in the U.S. this year.
Review: Matrix Reloaded? Garbage. Hulk? Confusing. X-2? Sloppy. Terminator 3? Bearable, at best. No, the "must-see," movie for summer came out during April, a little film entitled, "Cowboy Bebop: The Movie," which was originally titled "Knockin' On Heaven's Door," during its 2001 Japanese release(the same year Cowboy Bebop debuted on U.S. television) is nothing short of a spectacle. While 2002 yielded the U.S. release of the somewhat confusing "Escaflowne," film and the HIGHLY overrated "Spirited Away," things are looking great with this flick. The story, which is set between episodes 22(Cowboy Funk) and 23(Brain Scratch), has Spike and the gang now searching for a bio-terrorist who goes by the name of Vincent. Faye, impulsive as she is, tries to go after him on her own and winds up getting captured. Spike winds up getting crossing paths with a mysterious organization that has to do with Vincent, particulary with Vincent's past lover Elektra. I'm not going to give much away, but I must say, the ending is just awesome to watch. The fight scene at the end between Spike and Vincent is beautiful, and with the theme "Touching the Sky," playing in the background it just sets this very unparallel mood. Best of all, unlike a certain action movie series which will remain nameless(Cough* Matrix* Cough), the fights are much more believable. The characters actually react to getting hit by each other, they don't just punch each other for thousands of times unflinching, and then after its all over seem to keel over in pain. Take my advice, this is the movie for the year, and would be a much better choice for 2003's best animated film Oscar than that piece of crud Finding Nemo.

Summary: THIS BABY'S ROCKING AND NOT STOPPING!!
Review: FOr those of you out there any anime lovers, GO NOW AND BUY THIS MOVIE. IF ANY OF YOU MISS THIS MOVIE YOU ARE ONLY HURTING YOURSELF. I saw this at a best buy thought about hmmmm this or a Rurouni Kenshin OVA. I choose this movie and now i'm sure I made the right decision. Now let it be none this is a graphic movie.
Here's a Descrition. It's a typical day on the Bebop. But as Faye goes after a hacker she finds another man who was in the hacker's truck. The truck blows up leaving a deadly (witheld to not spoil plot)to kill everyone around. Soon after, the Bebop crew hears that the guy Faye saw is worth 300 million woolongs they immediately go out to find information. The each find information that leads Spike to a Pharmactical Company called Cherious Medical While sneaking around a woman named Electra figures Spike is sneaking around in the building. Spike is forced to fight her Bruce Lee style with a broom. He places a tracer on her to track is they find out about the man who blew up the truck.
Faye tracks the hacker she was after before to she if he had a connection wtih the man who blew up the truck. She starts to get it too and the man who belw up the truck is there too. She gets caught. Soon the man leaves after to lure the woman Electra. Spike hears on his tracer that the man is going to the train station. He goes after him to the train after a fierce Shoot out btween spike and the man and a little fist fighting Spike loses and is ended almost out of the window if a gun pointed toward his gut and is shot badly.
This is a must see movie Edward's little search for Lee was pretty funny. I reccomend buying the Episodes on DVD if you liked the movie. The music leaves up to my expectationthe Begining was spectular music and the ned put the ending feeling all the Cowboy Bebop episodes. YOU MUST BUY THIS MOVIE. IF YOU DON'T YOUR FRIENDS WILL LAUGH AT YOU FOR YORU STUPIDITY.

Summary: Cool and entertaining
Review: I liked it. The story is interesting and thought-provoking. The animation is great. For this type of movie, the characters are well developed and have distinct personalities. In the special features are character biographies that give a better understanding of what each character is about. Faye is my favorite. I'd like to see more of her in the future.

Summary: Brilliant anime movie!
Review: In the near future somewhere on Mars, a cowboy ( a.k.a. bounty Hunter) named "Spike" with his team of bounty hunters are persuing a deadly foe that had released a virus from a chemical truck that can almost destroy everyone. On Halloween, this foe plans on releasing it all over the city, only Spike with his crew called "Cowboy Bebop" can stop him.

An action packed, visual and entertaining animated knock-out based on the excellent anime series with the same name, the animation is great and so are the visuals. The story could have been better, but this is loaded with great action, the jazzy soundtrack is terrific and outstanding futuristic imagery. This is one of the best animes i've ever seen, it's also a great DVD chockfull of extras like Trailers, Featurettes, music videos, and more, this is a definite must own movie for anime lovers and lovers of Sci-fi.

Also recommended: Akira, Ghost in the Shell, The Professional: Golgo 13, Ninja Scroll, Spirited Away, Total Recall, Blade Runner, Metropolis ( 2001 anime version), The Matrix, From Dusk Till Dawn, Pulp Fiction, Heavy Metal, Rock and Rule, American Pop, Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend, Treasure Planet, The Fifth Element, Dark City, Blade, X-Men, Spider-Man, Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, Evangelion movie trilogy, Utena: The Movie, Spriggan: The Movie.

You've got the perfect blend of action, romance, and anything else that could happen in the year 2071. Jump into the adventure with Spike and the cowboys on Bebop. All the cara's have their own style and this movie was made for everyone! There are great graphics, an awesome story line. Don't take this movie lightly though, you've got great laughs, action, romance and technology. Go into the blood stream and go behond the normal story line, and get ready to watch it back to back until you know the words to the background music!

Summary: More=Good
Review: In Cowboy Bebop The Movie you get more of EVERYTHING that made the series great in huge portions. The movie boasts more fluid and detailed animation over the already high quality of the television show. It also includes a fantastic soundtrack C/O Yoko Kanno, the same music director for the series. The reason that I loved the series was that it possessed a unique blend of style, drama, and humor. All these are present and just as well intertwined in the movie as they were in the series.

Summary: Sorry I purchased it
Review: This film was rife with typical anime "philosophy" regarding the supernatural, aliens, alterna-reality. Fun stuff, right? Not here.

I can't even begin to tell you what in the world this was about, since I fell asleep about a third into it, played it back, and still hadn't a clue. I felt like I wasted several hours of my life. Even the animation wasn't anything to write home about. (1987's "Akira" continues to blow everything else away.)

For a MUCH better story involving avenging dead (at least that what I think the baddie in CB was trying to do), rent/buy HBO's "Spawn" series.

At least the DVD makes a good coffee coaster...

Summary: Restored my once fallen faith in good anime
Review: In recent years, the West has been inundated with second rate cheap 30 minute toy commercials and lousy dub-overs. About once every three years since Akira (1988) we have had an excepional full length feature that blows away the rest of the crowd.

Although I've given this movie five stars, and break it down as follows:

The animation, especially the action sequences, deserved a 7 out of 5. The visual representation was highly stylish and engrossing.

The story runs about 3 1/2 of 5. It plays like an extended version of at least two or three of the episodes. Not bad, but not a masterpeice plot.

Dialogue & character interaction = 4 of 5. Dub overs to English don't get much higher than thatIMHO, and I don't speak Japanese.

Soundtrack = 6 of 5. A profound releif from the light, cheap techno-madonna that is so frequent with anime soundtracks.

Good movie. ADULT MOVIE. I would recommend it to anyone who likes intelligent action movies in general.

Summary: As good as it gets....
Review: Great story, beautiful animation, great music.

You don't need to know much about the Cowboy Bebop back story to enjoy the movie. It stands very well on its own as a good action flick. I wish I had seen it in the theatres.
