Summary: I like.. but it did need to move faster.
Review: Frankly, I'm dissapointed with the movie. I LOVE Cowboy Bebop. I have the whole series on DVD. I felt the action scenes were superb- as usual. I also like the overall story. BUT... I felt the story could've been sped up a little bit more. For the first 45 mins of the movie, it could've been compressed into a 5 minute overview instead of having it drag. I know it creates drama with anticipation but honestly, if you watched the 2nd hour of the movie you would still understand what's going on.

Summary: The epitome of everything Anime should be/is
Review: For those of us who are true Otaku, we know of Cowboy Bebop and know that it is an incredible anime melding elements of everything we've come to know and love. Like the series, "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" is an incredible example of the power that the Cowboy Bebop tales hold. If there are people out there not firmiliar with anime, buy this DVD, show yourself and your friends what true anime can be, an amazing story, incredible animation, and butt-kicking fight scenes that will blow you away. In the immortal words of Spike, "Bang".

Summary: It's Cowboy Bebop the Movie for crying out loud!
Review: If you are familiar with the series, then you know you gotta go watch this movie!! If you are so lucky as to live somewhere where they are showing it, just go! Don't even think twice about it. Remember what it feels like when you watch the series on TV, and you can only start grasping at what the movie is like! You go in expecting a lot from this movie, and you get far more than you could imagine.
I'm not getting into the plot (you can read about it above!), but one thing that is just fantastic is how detailed and realistic the cities and civilization, in general, are. More so than in the series.
There's a lot more, but you need to see it for yourself!...

Summary: If you only see one movie this year, see this one..
Review: Instead of going for a more "cosmic" approach, the producers focused the story around more human elements: Spike and Jet breaking up a liquor store holdup to catch a wanted fugitive, followed by the opening credits featuring scenes of city life even if it does take place on Mars. Kids playing, people sitting outside a café, people working accompanied by some really sweet jazz music.

Impeccable.

The visuals? It was like watching a living Monet painting. The Fight scenes are so well choreographed and filmed that it was like watching an animated Jet Li film. Ed, Ein and Faye Valentine are also added to this marvelous drama and generate some very comical moments. I'm always amazed by Ed, an Anime kid who is actually very funny without being repulsively obnoxious.

Then it got better. The scene where Jet has to elude three military fighter jets (Jet vs. jets? hoo-ha!!) was worth the ticket price by itself.

Slick, stylish and visually stunning...The best anime series just got better.

Summary: The best movie of the year. Hands down.
Review: This movie encompasses all the good things that are bebop, and adds a longer, larger format, and seeing it on the big screen is every otaku's dream come true. the fights beat the matrix, the plot beats %99.9998 percent of american movies, and the bold step to deal with bio-terrorism during these times of censorship and war.

Summary: A great movie for a great TV series!
Review: If you loved the TV series, you'll LOVE the movie! Takes place before the episode "Hard Luck Woman" (episode 23) In other words before peope started sattering in the show. A biological wepons teriest is attacking Mars around Halloween. It's up to Spike, Faye, Jet, Ed, and Ein to catch Vincent and get the 300,000 woolong bounty! Even the three old men have a large part in this. And they joke about Andy at the end ^_^ "Call me Moosashi!" *_* (they don't say that though) It's not really something for kinds under the age of ten. No nudity, some langiage, nothing extream though. The only reason I see it being R is because the attacks, and Vincent tries to rape Faye, but all he does is, rip at her shirt... Nothing major folks. So if you can see it in theaters DOO!!! GO SEE IT! ALSO BUY IT!! I bought it imported, and can't wait to buy the dub! ^__^

Summary: The new standard for style
Review: I'm not a fan of the TV series, in fact, I never managed to watch an episode to the end. However, when I saw the movie in the theatre, I was very impressed. Bebop - the movie has a lot of style, a really cool soundtrack, some outstanding, really beautiful, moments that make it unique. It also features some unconventional characters. The city is full of interesting, moody places. The backgrounds are gorgeous, a lot of nice details. Of course, there's also a lot of generic anime elements in there, particularly the story: We've heard the nanomachine infested ex soldier tries to destroy humanity thing before.

Nevertheless: Very much worth seing

Summary: You'll LOVE this movie!
Review: Spike, Jet, Faye and Ed go after a Bio-terrorist worth a LOT of money. Good music from start to end (stay for the credits), with lots of humor and the characters are the same ones we love from the series, no changes like they do with other anime characters when they put them onto the big screen. Lovely camera shots, good quality work and you can tell they spent a lot of time working on the details. When the DVD comes out with lots of extras and both subtitles and dubbing in the English, you can BET your life I'm going to buy it. If you can't wait the DVD is already out from Japan (English subtitles only).
Try to see it on the big screen first. Not only does it seem to live, to reach out and touch you, but you're with other fans of Cowboy Bebop. How can you lose?
Even Ein has a few good scenes!!!
Go see it!

Summary: Spokey Dokey
Review: This movie is sure to charm anyone, anime fan or not. In essence, the movie plays like a long version of an episode (The movie takes place between episodes 22 and 23). It is very well developed. Anyone who is simply a fan of action movies is sure to love this film.

The movie opens up with Faye looking for a mark (a 17 year old hacker) on Mars. But, when the tanker the hacker is in explodes, a whole new situation develops. A biological virus is unleashed by a mysterious madman known only as Vincent. Vincent (and the hacker dude) plan to unleash the virus on the entire Mars population! Of course, the crew gets caught up in this.

The movie showed things, that weren't seen in other episodes. Little things that we like to see in the future. We see the future of drive-in movies, arcades, and advertisements. It puts more things into perspective, day-to-day things that we take for granted.

The music is great. The signature jazz is most definately there, along with new styles. Some of these styles, I don't particularly care for, but when meshed with the film; they're great. The music just helps build the tension in certain scenes. Other scenes, the music gets the viewer's adrenaline pumping. Yoko Kanno's soundtrack does the job again.

The characters are pretty much clear to a tee, so even the anime newbie can get what's up. The movie tends to focus on Spike more than the others. The length helps the viewer come to respect all the characters, even if he hasn't watched the cartoon before. The original english voice actors bring out the same cowboys we all know and love; Spike is still lazy, Jet is still a push-over on, Ed is still crazy, and Faye is still audicious.

The movie totally stands alone, and is good for anyone who enjoys entertainment. There are only a few things that only the Bebop fan would notice. Seeing the cartoon on the big screen is entirely worth every penny.
