Summary: Awesome movie
Review: This movie was great, even for those who haven't seen the entire series. I recommend this movie to people who enjoy anime and even those who have never watched it before. I think this movie will have a greater appeal than most movies made from a series. Cowboy Bebop - The Movie is a great buy.

Summary: Disappointing, because...
Review: The Movie disappoints this old Cowboy Bebop fan, for several reasons. First, the backgrounds are gorgeous -- but they're not Bebop. Second, the music is fantastic -- but it's not Bebop (not that it ever was, but Bird aside, the original funky beat-kickin' tunes sit down and listen to straight jazz, straight blues, even maybe a bit of straight Bollyrock. Third, the characters are -- Jet Black, taking a bow. Spike Spiegel, taking a bow. Faye Valentine, knocking 'em dead in that skank outfit and finally getting semi-raped -- without a trace of the wit, despair and desperate overconfidence that marked her CHARACTER in the series. Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV, real name Francoise, known to the hacker world as Radical Edward -- a poplocking, brainless cartoon whose exploits on her humble TOMATO pc are just used to jack the slow-moving plot around dull corners. Ein the Data Dog -- window dressing with one bark and two nose pokes at a shogi piece. Ok, so The Movie really backs away from doing anything radical (or even interesting) with the main characters, but at least the shrines could glow a little with real or at least new insights. It would be a better encore (the three cribbage-playing old dudes get a piece of the cake) if the settings were Mars. Or post-cataclysm Earth. Or Titan. Or Ganymede. Or Venus. Or ANYWHERE but 20th Century San Francisco with a Casbah. But what about those NEW characters, huh? Scruffy dark dude with a tattoo, an attitude and a liver-twisting clunk foo move -- ok. Serious chick who could be a Spike love interest -- but ain't. Ok. Episodic plot which can't develop because of serious shrine issues preventing change in the major players. Hate it, love it, incoherent flash of genius in the art, the effects, the music, but not the writing. Three stars.

Summary: Great Movie, the DVD could be better
Review: The Movie was great. The dvd on the other hand could be better. Instead of offering French as a language option, Sony should have made the Japanese language 5.1 digital. Also, the English subtitles are extremely terrible. The extras were great. The English dubbing was very good and did the charaters justice.

Summary: WHAT A HORRIBLE DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!!
Review: This movie is super-[bad]!! It lacks the life of the original series.
The only people who should bother with this are those who love Cowboy Bebop AND love slow actionless movies!
The new characters were bland and almost as boring as the story, which was drug out for about an hour too long! The story also seemed very thrown-together.
I LOVED the tv series and was really looking forward to this, expecting it to be just as good!
The action is minimal and the fight scenes are short. I felt heavily distracted through most of the movie (simply because it was boring). I *never* fall asleep during movies, but I was seriously struggling off and on through this one!
In short: DO NOT buy this movie with only knowledge of the series! You COULD be very dissapointed! I would have been mad if I had paid to see it!

Summary: Somewhat diffrent, but didn't dissapoint
Review: For a bounty with 300 mil on his head, Spike, Jet, Faye, and Ed know he's a shark, compared to all the fish they cought in the past.
The bad things about this movie is, there's not much profanity, not much blood(like in Ballad of Fallen Angels), and no nudity,(like some people said, altho it came close) so why did they rate this R? And it's very unlike bebop, with more fistfighs than gunfights, and bairly and airship chases. And where's Vicious? Man I wish there was a possible way they could have put him in this movie.

Well getting that aside, the good things about the movie is that it still offers the fun of the series from Cowboy Bebop, and it has a very good storyline as well. Vincint is a pretty bad dude, I mean he will stab people with his fingers(I dunno if he needs nails). Elecra is a pretty beautiful woman, who can fight pretty darn good, and Spike loves a woman who can kick his ... And it had state of the Art Anime, and it all equals to make a great movie. This really gave me a warm welcome back to one of my favorite anime series and all fans of bebop should definitly not miss out on this one. I just hope to see more CB in the futiure. And like they say, are you living in a dream world, for some reason, I wonder if we are?

Summary: See you Space Cowboy
Review: This proved to be one of the better anime movies I've seen in recent times. The TV series was good, but this movie is brilliant.
It has a well constructed story that grabs you from start to finish. Some brilliant animation, with some the best action, and fight scenes I've seen. And the music, of course having been composed by Yoko Kanno, is simply brilliant.

Summary: Bebop's Back!
Review: I watched the movie with a friend, and our first reaction once the credits rolled was, "Well, that was dumb." I, as any other self-respecting Bebop fan would, felt that our conclusion was a bad one. A very bad one. I was expecting an awesome movie, especially after all of the positive reviews. I thought on it a bit, and concluded that the movie actually wasn't so bad. Alone, it [was bad]. I mean, I'd give it three stars for the animation and the awesome music (Yoko never fails!), but the plot was simple and the new characters had little personality or flair that the crew of Bebop did.

Basically, it's another day on the Bebop. ... the movie plays exactly like an extended episode. There's a bounty out, and Spike and the gang are aspiring to round it in for a whopping reward of 300 million w. This time, the lives of billions are at stake. Vincent's released a virus, and he's ready to wipe out the human population of the planet (or, at the very least, a whole lot of people) with his biological weapon. Electra, the woman who loves him, is as predictable as the cardboard cut-out villian/man of her dreams Vincent; although there is a bit of a surprise at the end. Predictable plot+predictable characters=poor movie.

Why four stars, then? Well, the Bebop crew is back, and just like always, Ed's wild, Jet's the father figure, Faye's getting into all sorts of trouble, Spike is the cool, laid back one with a bunch of cool fight scenes, and Ein is, well, a dog. A very cute one, mind you. This is just the thing to quench a Bebop fan's thirst. Another epidosde of Bebop is just itching for you to watch it love it just like you've loved all of the other episodes of Bebop. Just don't expect a ground-breaking movie that'll be dubbed a classic in future years. Expect a great, extended, fun episode of Bebop, where everyone is alive and together and getting themselves into grand misadventures.

What really swayed me into giving this thing four stars is that as a part of the series, it rocks. Really. It ties some loose ends left at the end of the series, including expansion on the 'life is a dream' theme. After watching the movie, I really understood why Spike decided to finally confront his past. Remember in the Real Folk Blues Jet says, "Vicious...Julia...Those names sound ominous, like a door that should stay closed" (or something along those lines)? Yeah, there's definite expansion of the 'door' theme, too. Fans of the series will get an awesome kick out of the expansion on the central theme. Vincent and Electra really play a huge importance in explaining all of this stuff, and I didn't realize that until quite a bit after the movie was finished.

In short, if you're not a fan of the series, BECOME one. Don't buy this movie. Buy the Session 1 DVD and then the next and the next...and fall in love with the characters, and get all sad at the end of the series. After that, buy this movie and watch it and love it like you loved Bebop. Already a fan? Get this movie right away! It's worth every penny.

P.S. The extras are pretty cool, including featurettes on each character, trailers, and a bunch of other fun stuff. And you can watch the movie in French. Crazy. :p

Summary: Cowboy Bebop - Knockin' on Heaven's Door
Review: What can I say, a great movie to add to a legendary series. The movie stays true to it's roots, and won't dissapoint the fans. For the newcomers, it offers a taste of what Cowboy Bebop brings to the table. The DVD also offers an unexpectedly generous amount of bonus material. Cowboy Bebop - The Movie is a must have for Anime fans, or anyone who wants to experience something new and refreshing.

Summary: This movie is NOT boring...
Review: I've read through a lot of reviews regarding this movie, and I noticed that everyone who hated it seemed to complain about how "boring" it was. When I saw this movie, I wasn't bored for a second. (In fact, I wanted to see it again immediately!) I think some people just grew tired of this movie because it's not 25 minutes long, like the TV show episodes were. But if you can handle watching an AVERAGE length DEEP movie with a REAL, GOOD, SOLID plotline (like most of us who are over the age of five can) then this movie will NOT disappoint.
