Summary: 5 Stars--Brilliant, Baby!!
Review: I absolutely LOVE this movie. This is one of my favorites! I don't know how people critique movies, and what they call "great", but I'm tired of them, they don't know what the (bleep) they're talking about!!

This movie is sooooooo great! I love Taimak and Vanity (a protegee of the man Prince I awesomely adore) and all of the characters. Sho'nuff may be ug-ly but he makes me laugh! The whole movie makes me laugh.

The tough, strong, yet cute and gentle Leroy Green (son of Daddy Green and his Pizza) a.k.a Bruce Leroy is a funny character I just love. Laura Childs is so pretty and sassy, you just love her. The Plot is endlessly good and I LOVE THIS MOVIE! I recommend it to you and your family (PG-13, though) and you will love it! I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT!!

BUY IT, WATCH IT, LOVE IT!!

Summary: Catches bullets with his teeth?!!!!
Review: Ah, this movie...I remember seeing it for the first time in theaters, my cousin took her son and myself and we couldn't get enough of it. For the rest of the year, all we could say is "Sho Nuff!" in fact, that's what we called the movie instead of The Last Dragon.

Is it the greatest movie ever made? No. Is it Oscar-caliber acting? No. But it is great seeing a mostly black cast poking fun at kung fu with over-the-top acting (gotta love Julius in this movie!) and some really great fight scenes, especially at the end group scene. And this is the first movie for Ernie Reyes, Jr.! And it's amazing to see Faith Prince in this movie and see her really showing her talents on Broadway right now (she was nominated for a Tony this year). And Vanity...let's just say you're not paying attention to her singing in this movie (thank God)

If you're in the mood to just let go and have fun with a movie and see some action to boot, rent this. That'll make you buy it. And for all those like me that loved the movie in the first place, we've already got it on order. I just wish there was more extras on this DVD! Any chance for a whiz-bang edition later?

Summary: Rumble in Harlem
Review: This is a really fun martial arts movie. Mix rapping ganstas with fan clubs who chant their names (Sho'nuff) with quiet peaceful kung fu students ("Bruce" Leroy Green), throw in a bit of 80's hair and disco in Harlem and you have a The Last Dragon.

Leroy Green is on a quest to complete his training. His master sends him out to find the secret that will let him use "The Glow" (including The Glow theme song). His destiny intersects with that of Laura Charles, a local Dance Fever host, and Sho'nuff who just doesn't dig this cat. Laura is mixed up with Eddie Arkanian, a local slimeball trying to make it big time pushing his loser talent (a boxer who loses and a goofy Cyndi Lauper ripoff). Oh, and Leroy's brother who reminds me of Arnold from Diff'rent Strokes.

Anyway, the fights are pretty decent and the music is actually catchy. I like the modern day setting in New York without the bad acting of Van Damme. The actors in this movie do a good job.

This movie is worth it just for seeing Sho'nuff's crazy costumes, but you will probably enjoy the whole thing.

Summary: the master
Review: this is by far one of my favorite movies. i saw it for the first time when i was very young and fell in love with it. this movie is great for any fan of hip hop, bruce lee, break dancing, or just cheesy 80's cinema. this has to be one of the greatest movies of all time, from the first scene, you will definately know "who is the mastter?" there is an abundance of action, the comedy in the movie is endless, and the plot is so endless to follow. one could definately learn some moves from this movie.

Summary: Great trip to the '80s!!!
Review: Oh wow! I was so happy to accidently stumble on this movie. What a great flash back! I loved this movie as a teenager. I was hoping I wouldn't view it now, so many years later, and think it was stupid. I was pleasantly surprised! Great stuff!!!

Review: Taimak plays Leroy Green Jr. in the Last Dragon, and they could not have chosen a better lead actor for this part. Interesting fact: During the introductory training sequence, Leroy karate-chops an arrow as it soars past him. This is for real; it took two hours to get the stunt right. Taimak never really made any major movies after The Last Dragon, he appeared in some 90210 episodes, along with a Singled Out episode on MTV. This was just the perfect role for him.

Julius J. Carry III plays Sho'nuff, and again, the perfectly cast character. His donkey kick in a few scenes is a bit funny, especially since Leroy couldn't dodge them, but his attitude, and on screen persona was perfect. Carry also starred in The New Guy as Coach, in the District he played Reverend Garvey, and also made appearances on The Cosby show, Murphy Brown, Jag, Grace Under Fire, Tales from the Crypt, The Jefferson's, Newhart, Hill Street Blues, and Fame. Julius J. Carry III, much like Taimak, never reached stardom again after this movie.

Vanity plays Laura Charles, a local DJ who plays video on a TV show, and becomes Leroy Green's love interest. Vanity also made appearances in Kiss of Death and Action Jackson. She was a very likable character in this role.

Christopher Murney plays the real villain, Eddie Arcadian, a music producer, who is all about making money, and using his strong-arm approach to get what he wants. He also appeared in The Secret of My Succe$s and Maximum Overdrive.

As a whole, this movie is great because of when it came out, and the type of movie it is. The genre, or setting it is placed in makes the lines that you would usually think is cheesy, funny. The action in this movie is pretty good, but again what makes it fun to watch is the forum it takes place in. Last Dragon is a combination of a comedy and action, more fun, then serious. It is an extremely entertaining film, which I like a lot, but is hard to describe. It does belong in your DVD collection, and you can feel safe buying this movie, even if you've never seen it.

Review: I just had to write a review for this movie. This is my greatest movie of all time. From Leroy, to Vanity, to His little brother to Sho' Nuff, this movie rocks. It is more than just some hip-hop kung-Fu flick. It is about believing in something no matter how much pride, how much, embarrassment, and how much trust it takes. It's about love, it's about pride, and it's all consolidated into one kung-fu,hip-hop banger of a movie. My most favorite of all time.

Summary: It's not too late for a sequel!!!!!
Review: Taimak, Taimak - where are you??? The world needs a sequel to The Last Dragon! I think it should include some break dancing and be called The Last Dragon 2 - Electric Boogaloo.
