Summary: neglected piece of work
Review: This is the work that introduced me to William Peterson and I was surprised to see that he did not have more starring roles after his outstanding performance in this film. That has been corrected now with his C.S.I. . He gives a very tight performance in this movie with cat-like movements and a visible anger. He does not give up the fight.
Willem Dafoe adds the salt to Petersons' pepper to finish the final seasoning of this little known film. It will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Summary: PEDAL TO THE METAL
Review: I'vew seen this about 6 times now, and I still enjoy it. The first time I popped a cold one and reached for the popcorn thinking I'd just relax, but from the start this film takes off. I too was on the edge of my seat, holding my breath for half of it!Just when the viewer thinks there is a lull, things start happening again. The car chase is a big surprise, and rates ahead of the one in Bullitt and The French Connection. I'll bet Burt Reynolds wishes he could have done it! Petersen and Dafoe are well matched, with one a restless jumping-out-of-his-skin type, and the other so cool and meticulous. If this doesn't do it to you, check your pulse! You may not have one. After this film,go see Long Gone to chill out.

Summary: "A Great Movie"
Review: I've seen this move atleast 4 times and I thought it was action packed and had me sitting on the edge of my seat. This is the first movie I ever saw Willem Dafoe and William Peterson in and they both were great in the movie. No, excellent in the movie. I recommend this movie to anyone who loves action type movies and one who likes Willem Dafoe or William Peterson. One of my favorite movies of all time.

Summary: Great Movie
Review: This movie needs no special effects to be great. It has the best car chase ever put on film (apologies to Steve Mcqueen fans). If you loved/liked "Bad Liutenant" with Harvey Keitel then you'll love this, and vice versa.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Wow! Complex and exciting, plus an awesome car chase scene!
Review: There's not much that isn't good about this film. This is an exciting film. The soundtrack is great, the acting is great, and the direction is great! Visually beautiful! Friedkin directed The Exorcist and the French Connection before this film and while he can be hit or miss - this film is definitely a hit!

Summary: To Live & Die In L.A.
Review: This is a very good movie. When this movie was first released back in the early eighties I was too young to actually see it. I just recently watched this movie about a month ago and I loved it. It was action packed from the start. The best car chase scene I've ever seen before. Better then the ones in the newer movies. William Petersen and Willem Dafoe played out their characters to the fullest, you don't want the movie to end. It's keeps your attention at the screen through out the whole movie and the ended is very unexpected. I reccomend this movie to anyone who likes action.

Summary: Moody, dark masterpeice of modern crime dramas
Review: To Live And Die In L.A. is a film that grabs you from the opening L.A. sunrise to the closing sunset. William Friedkin masterfully painted a picture depicting how thin the line between the cops and the robbers actually is. William Peterson stars as a secret service agent who will stop at nothing to nab counterfeiter Willem Dafoe. Peterson's determination eventually leads him to go too far, pulling his partner John Pankow deeper into the depths of the city that made men like Peterson and Dafoe. Excellent cinematography of L.A., a stunning car chase, and a deep character study make this a classic picture. A must see.

Summary: One of the best movies ever
Review: It's no exaggeration- this movie is truly great. Even years after having seen it I recall the brutality, the characterizations, the drama and tension between the lead characters. I just wish Friedkin had done more like it since.

Summary: Onoe of the Greatest pure thrillers ever made.
Review: I saw this movie for the 3th or 4th time a few years ago at a sreening at UCLA & afterwards talked with the director. I thank that William Peterson & Defoe gave academy award performaces. I told Mr. Friedkin that the ending is what set this movie apart from any other. The dialogue is what I refer to as a mans way of talking. No cars flying through the air, bombs going off or machine guns just a truly great, great movie.

Summary: They don't make them like this anymore !
Review: Friedkin is in vintage form. The fine line between good guys and bad guys is well executed. Great performances all around and a hot soundtrack by Wang Chung makes this one of the best crime films of the 80's. Also recommend "Manhunter" directed by Michael Mann which also happens to star William Peterson.Make special ed. DVD soon as possible.
