Summary: Tumbling down the rabbit hole
Review: I anticipated the release of RELOADED. I managed to be back in the states for the opening day release, and I definately freed my mind. From fights, to car chases, wall running and just simply over the top special effects, the MATRIX had you. The story was deeper and the movie had a certain attention to detail that if paid close attention to made you simply smile. After watching reloaded I was able to pick up on small details of the first film. From seeing the teaser of Revolutions, It definately looks to be a cut way above the bar. I have watched the first film at least a hundred times and it never gets old. I have seen reloaded four times in the theatres and cant wait for it's release to dvd. For all of the negative reviewers, stay tuned for the stunning conclusion, and you will see just how far the rabbit hole goes! For all who haven't witnessed the spectacle called the MATRIX RELOADED, go and see it, because the MATRIX has you!

Summary: Dislike of this movie was a product of confusion
Review: Excellent movie, just like the first one, except this sequel was intended to deliver messages rather than mind-blowing special effects. I can understand why some people didn't like it: at times, the movie's messages were confusing, given the speed with which the characters were speaking, but that's why people either go to see it again, or buy the DVD when it comes out. I will try to clarify what kind of messages they were attempting to deliver.One, the misunderstood Zion scene is not simply what it seems to be (just like the rest of the movie). If you look closely at the background, you will notice A LOT of earthy colors because, obviously, they are in a cave. Compare these colors to the machine-dominated world above them, and you have a subtly stressed contrast between humans and machines. What I mean is the sensual, even sexual dancing set against this particular background emphasizes the humanity of this lost city without saying it upfront. Neo and Trinity's intermittent sexual scenes is meant, in a way, to connect them both to each other and to everyone else. It also emphasizes on Neo's humanity, which so many people in the movie doubt. Secondly, references to choice, control, and free will are often misunderstood as well. With choice, remember one line when going to see the next movie: "Choice is an illusion." That pretty much sums it up. Control is ambiguous in this movie and can be attributed to either the Matrix or Neo, depending on the viewpoint. And free will, which is a definite part of the movie's obscurities pertaining to moral sense, should be kept uppermost in one's mind when watching this movie. I hope I've somewhat helped any who felt confused when they watched it. This was an amazing movie and will be a part of the Matrix legend indefinitely. This was a true sequel. Another thing... think about how far the Matrix extends and then reconsider control, to those who have seen it.

Summary: Highlander redux
Review: Remember how great Highlander was? Remember how all the Highlander sequels were contrived, money-grubbing suckfests? Well, here we go again. I don't know who to blame, but the life has been sucked out of the Matrix story. It's all special effects now. Skip this movie. Like with Highlander, there should have been only one.

Summary: Ahhhhh Schnap!
Review: All the negative reviews about this movie are totally unwarranted. This movie was spectacular. Granted there were a few scenes a little over the top. For instance the "Big Brawl" was just to show the CG animators flex their digital muscles. And the Zion speech was a little too Shakespearian. But it seems people judge this movie as a stand-alone product. This movie's job, simply put, was to be a segue. And it did its job superbly. Leaving everyone scratching their heads and greatly anticipating the third and final movie. The nice thing about the Matrix movies, which sets them apart from other trilogies, is the fact that they were written as one script. And if not for the tragic and untimely death of Aliyah the movies all would have been shot and released together. This helps keep continuity. Reloaded did a great job picking up where the first movie left off. Everyone knew from the first movie what a bad mofo Neo could be. But we were left to speculate what he could really do. This movie paints an awesome picture of what he can do... But just when you think "oh great here comes someone else to get their butt whooped by Neo" there is a spectacular scene with Trinity and Morpheus. It's awesome because Morpheus and Trinity are normal compared to Neo. And they still open a can-o-whoop @!#. Where Neo could punch his way out, others that wander into the Matrix must use innovation to get them out of trouble. It seems that everything that seemed to be pointless, may have a meaning come the next movie. There were things in this movie that have many people saying "Come on what in the world is that doing in here"? One has to be on their "A" game to watch this movie. There is sooo much revealed at the end, that if you've got a pulse you may think "Perhaps that's why that scene was placed in there!" But don't get the wrong idea...they reveal a lot just to cover up twice as much and have you asking more questions and speculating what the next movie is about. But on a negative side the soundtrack was a little weak compared to the first movie. On a positive side the score was ultra-powerful and the fit the movie superbly. And one other fun thing... If you have any experience with computers and programming it's cewl how they paint a visual picture of some common program concepts. Like the hallway of back doors! On the whole this movie isn't as grandiose as the first movie but it's just as important and just as intense!

Review: I saw this movie a couple of weeks ago and it was like I never wanted it to end.It absorbs you and every fight scene is even better than the last.Peep this:In one scene,the agents keep doubling to the point where Neo's going 1-100 with a pole as his defense.Plus,I saw it in IMAX,so it was even better.Oh yeah,Jada
and monica belluci look great in the movie.the point:this movie is straight-up awesome.buy it as soon as it gets out on video.

Summary: Only For You If you Enjoy...
Review: While I have read many reviews and a lot of them lately have been bashing the film, I thank God that they are simply that reviews which which people are entitle to their own oppinion. I happen to thouroughly enjoy the first film and the second. I recommend it if you are a sci-fi/fantasy movie/book reader. If not, you will be lost and confused. Warning! Must have open mind and sometimes use it and sometimes use it positively.

Summary: What the heck is wrong with you people?
Review: Look, the movie may have had its ups and downs when it came to the plot, but overall, I think it did better than the first one. THe action was by far surpassing of the first movie, the plot thickened, like it is supposed to in a second movie, and it did better than the first movie did. You all need to get you heads out of your butts and realize the truth that is The Matrix: Reloaded.

Summary: Zion Strikes Back?
Review: These reviews seem very harsh. I admit, I wasn't quite sure what I had seen after leaving the theatre. I wanted to go back & see the "Architect" conversation again several more times in slow motion with subtitles. But in the weeks that followed, after viewing The Animatrix and playing Enter the Matrix on PS2 with the aid of the Official Strategy Guide, I like it much better. There is no small amount of the plot that is contained in these other offerings, not in the movie itself. If you are a casual Matrix fan, I can see why this film might disappoint you. It is the "Empire Strikes Back" of this series, part of it's function is to set up the 3rd installment. But if like me, this thing has nearly become a religion for you, then you realize you'll have to see this film a few dozen times in order to put it into perspective. If you're looking for an exciting sequel that strongly delivers on the promise of the first film, X2: X-Men United is more likely to satisfy. It also sets up the next film, but does so more like Lord of the Rings-Fellowship did than The Matrix: Reloaded. The Matrix did things that no other film had ever done before. You can only invent the atomic bomb one time. Shed your unrealistic expectations and be open minded. You'll enjoy it much better.

Summary: Heart-stopping entertainment
Review: The Matrix Reloaded is one of the most thrilling films ever to watch as it captures the viewer from the second it opens leaving you blown away and thirsty for more from the very first minute... As well as providing answers to various questions left open-ended from its predecessor(eg. Did Tank and Morpheus survive after the attack on the Nebuchadnezzar by the Sentinels? Do Neo and Trinity develop their relationship?), The film introduces new characters( Niobe, the Key-Maker, Merovingian, the Twins-to name a few), new places (we get our first glimpse of Zion), twists (multiple Agent Smiths, traitor within Zion) and problems (Trinity's fate, Zion vs the Sentinel army) as it continues the story. There's the heartstopping car-chase that pumps adrenaline through you (the most daring piece of action which will take its place as the best-ever car chase captured on film-thus far)and the burly brawl that seems to go on for ages (you wonder: how can one person fight for so long and so hard) but there it is- no cuts just one long unbelievably superb scene choreographed by Wo Ping and note that about 92% of the action was done by the actors with only about 8% being Computer Graphics. Humor is also sprinkled into the plot by the arrogant francophone Merovingian (played skilfully by Lambert Wilson) Although people often comment on the latter, one of my more favourite aspects were the love themes apparent in the film.
The passion and undying love expressed between Neo and Trinity played beautifully by Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss (who have amazing chemistry together) pulls at your heart strings and really completes the movie. Of-course, the film is a thriller and like all good thrillers, it has a cliff-hanger ending that will keep you guessing for more yet at the same time it leaves you immensely satisfied and will ensure that you keep reloading the movie to your heart's content.

Summary: The Wachowskis are asking you to think a little harder
Review: I thought that it was a great stepping stone to the finale. While the first Matrix stands great on its own, for me there were too many unanswered questions. What did this Zion look like? Would people be happy to leave the Matrix or resentful like Cypher? All Computers have a CPU, what was the source - what were the Agents plugged into - who's in charge? Perhaps the problem some people are having with the Matrix Reloaded is that the philosophy of the Wachowskis is running a lot closer to the surface. Reloaded is steeped with symbolism that some people are either going to get or they're not. In Matrix 1, you could disregard the philosophy and just get lost in the cool groundbreaking sci-fi effects. Well the rest of filmhood technology has caught up in the four years so some might not be as impressed by the fight scenes. I've only given 3.5-stars though I'm really into the film because one is very conscious of the fact throughout the film that this is not a stand-alone movie - It is an unshamed Part 1 of 2. (Though I'll say that if I had to rate the series so far, I'd give it a 4.333 out 5.) I was impressed by the make up of the Underground city. The level of technology in Zion was ironic. The Celebration scene showed a contrast with the sterile Matrix world - the one thing the Zionites (Humans) have as opposed to machines is their sexuality, their carnal nature and I mean if you were facing imminent destruction of all you hold dear what would you do, if not enjoy life while you still could. Though I admit that the sex scene as acted by Reeves and Moss was uncomfortable to look at - all I can say is that real sex ain't pretty to watch. (If your partner is still looking cool, cute and collected, then baby, you doing something wrong.) ;)
