Summary: One of the best
Review: Michael Caine and Sean Connery take you back in time to a world of immperialism, conquest, bravery and courage. A time when men were men and power seemed immortal.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: They don't make them like this anymore.
Review: Connery and Caine star in this old fashioned film about two rougish soldiers who go in search to becme rulers of an isolated land .A must see for the whole family. Connery and Caine are brilliant.

Summary: Great movie! Too bad you have to flip the DVD.
Review: When I bought my DVD player The Man Who Would be King was one of the first movies I got on DVD even though I already have it on VHS. I was really disapointed to find that I had to flip the disk over mid-movie. It's not that long a movie, it should all be on one side. I think the VHS version is better for that reason. Perhaps later versions of the DVD are single sided, I got mine in November '98.

Summary: A classic that cannot be forgotten
Review: This is a great return to old fashioned, sweeping, ribald, humor + adventure that really hasn't been seen since the mid to late seventies. A cockney swager permeates this old skool buddy story about two Brit soldiers stamping into the mountains of India to find their fortune. A highlight of Connery's career, I can't believe I hadn't heard more about this film before I saw it for the first time recently. The DVD is great, offering widescreen, a trailer, a making-of special, and production notes(hard to read). At 13.99, you cant pass this up. If you like adventure at all, this movie will do you justice.

Summary: One of the all-time greats
Review: This movie manages to be an old-fashioned adventure while remaining contemporary in its artistry. It's the greatest movie about friendship ever made--a tragedy that never seems tragic, a comedy that never strives too hard to be funny, a masterpiece that is one-of-a-kind.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An all-time favorite!!!
Review: I must admit that this movie has it all. Drama, humor, suspense, cinematography, and fine acting. What amazes me most is that so few people recall ever seeing this movie when it came out but once they see it on video they are amazed at the magnitude of it's greatness. It truly should be considered one of the all-time great movies.

Summary: AN ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL MOVIE

Summary: Riveting Human Interaction
Review: This movie grabs your attention because it presents a wonderful interraction between the opposities of wealth, culture, and religion. The cinematography is excellent, and allows the movie to yank you out of your suburban existence and throw you into an exciting other world. It's in my top 10 list.

Summary: One of the top 10 guy movies of all time.
Review: This is one of the best adventure films ever done. Every aspect of this movie held my attention: the characters, the story, the action, and the acting.

If you liked "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid," then this is for you.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Connery's best
Review: I love this film and have watched it over and over. Fromn the exotic setting to the terrific interplay between Peachy and Danny, the story keeps one's interest. It made me a huge fan of Kipling. One of my three favorite films that include Moonstruck and Breaking Away.
