Summary: Strange Days? Emphasis on the "Strange"
Review: This film was way too dark for my tastes (literally and figuratively), and it was a waste of a perfectly good cast. And there is one more thing that is bothering me. Is is just me, or does Michael Wincott (the guy who plays Juliet Lewis' boyfriend) always seem to be the bad guy in every other film I see? I can name at least 5 other films I've seen him in where he is a villain. Also, I am sick and tired of the future being portrayed as dark and depressing. Can't we have at least one movie that is semi-optimistic? Overall, weird film,I couldn't imagine owning it.

Summary: They may not like it, but I definitely do.
Review: Despite what a lot of critics have said about it, Strange Days ranks as one of my favorite films, simply for the immersive, anarchistic feel and the brief glimpse of what our future could look like. It perhaps might be more of a cult film than could be enjoyed by the mainstream audience, but if you're looking for an involving, gritty, not-so-futuristic action flick, check this out. Ralph Fiennes convinces, though Juliette Lewis could've been better. Tom Sizemore, however, is my quiet favorite in his role as Lenny's (Fiennes) pal. There's enough action to keep the plot interesting, and it's always fun the first time around to decide who's doing what.

Summary: Strange Days definitely defines the 90's!
Review: Strange Days is definitely a cult classic. It definitely takes our pre-millenial fears as asks us to define them. Police brutality, racism, vitual reality, rape, it's all here. While it's defininitely not for the squeamish, Strange Days, like many of James Cameron's other films such as Titanic, is definitely worth seeing for the terrific story. If you love cyberpunk movies, like The Matrix and Johnny Neumonic you'll love Strange Days! Excellent performances from Ralph Fiennes, Angela Bassett, and Tom Sizemore! A CULT CLASSIC!

Summary: Good Film, ahead of it's time
Review: Strange Days is a very good film. It is filled with excellent actors and actresses. The problem does not rely in the acting or directing, but in the screenplay. There are several slow points and some great ideas, but the consistancy between the ideas aren't that coherant.

However, the film is a good "underground" film. If a person is a "real artist" at heart, basically not being forced to a "commercial plot" which 90% of America is used to. This is definately a must see film. Most people just cannot take this film at all because of it's artistic nature.

I would suggest for Fienne's Fans to check out "Oscar and Lucinda" and "The English Patient". Both of these films are excellent. But only to those with more of a creative mindset and not for commercial audiences.

Summary: It's great but not very much publicized.
Review: I've stumbled upon this film incidentally while taking the stack of tapes from my friends flat. They did not recommend me any of the films I was borrowing so I was surprised when the movie got hold of me from the very beginning. The main idea is rather new, but it's new in a way you are prepared to deal with and enjoy. You do not have to ask yourself an irritating questions of the "What the hell is this Matrix?" category. There is a perfect balance of challenging and recognizable concepts, of action and emotion. The only thing I did not like were Juliette Lewis' mannerisms. Also I agree that the final joining of Fiennes with the black girl is staged out of need for a meaningful ending scene. They were through a lot but I do not think they will be together for long. This film is a hidden treasure - not many people heard of it, but if you see the movie you are guaranteed a couple of hours of pure enjoyment.

Summary: Great picture and sound - lousey movie
Review: This was a huge let down as far as plots go. The movie dragged on and on. My friends and I almost fast forwarded to the last chapter to finally find out what happend in this painfully written sci-fi. My advise would be to rent it for the DVD aspects and keep the $ for a better title for the collection.

Summary: TOSS UP BETWEEN THE DVD AND THE VHS
Review: I looked forwrad to the DVD coming out and now that it as, I have mixed feelings about it.

It is an excellent transfer but is not reallly much better than the VHS widescreen version (I have them both so I did some systematic comparisons). In fact, the VHS version has an excellent "behind the ecenes" segment at the end showing how the film was staged which is not on the DVD. The DVD has a director's commentary, but only for a portion of the film. So, I would say the DVD is disappointing.

Summary: A masterpiece!!
Review: I watched this movie a hundred times and I'm still amazed. The cast is great and the special effects too. What can I say more?

Go rent it... or buy it!

Summary: Not bad, but not that good
Review: There definitely is an audience for this film, though many of them might secretly like to see a snuff film, too. Some of the edgier scenes in this one - and there are plenty - come uncomfortably close. Younger viewers weaned on "Natural Born Killers," "Pulp Fiction," and the like will get a kick out of this, but if that's not your thing, steer clear. Not worthless: Juliette Lewis is nude in several scenes. She does, however, sing.
