Review: This movie is just plain awesome! I have watched it 3 times so far and I enjoyed each time better than the first. Great acting, wonderful story, and interesting characters. I love it!

Summary: Full of great acting and good writing
Review: Three years after his instant classic "Pulp Fiction", Quentin Tarantino came back with "Jackie Brown" which was not nearly as well received by audiences and critics than the ealier film. Though JB is not quite on par with PF, it is a good film worth of respect.One of the major assets of this picture is the outstanding cast. Pam Grier, Robert DeNiro and Samuel L. Jackson deliver fine performances and Robert Forster is the standout of the fantastic supporting cast. Tarantino's script does not disappoint too. His dialogue is even better than Elmore Leonard's original. As in his previous pics, Tarantino effectively uses source music throughout the film. If there's any downside than it is the running time. 155 minutes are too many for a film like this. "Jackie Brown" confirms that Tarantino is one of the most talented american directors and a filmmaker whose next film will be an event worth looking forward to.

Summary: Good Movie
Review: This was a good movie not because of the impressive story line or the unpredictablity that Q.T. usually brings to his movies (this movie had neither). Rather this was a good movie because of the excellent acting performances. Sam Jackson, Pam Grier and Robert DeNiro are explosive. You can't take your eyes off any of these characters when they're on the screen. Even Bridget Fonda does a good acting job (has a partial nudity scene where you see her rear end...nice! ) This movie is definately worth seeing. And if you like Pam Gier I would suggest checking out some of the 70's movies that made her popular. Back then she was much younger and even more attractive (Her movies are filled with nudity and violence...definate guy material). Some of Grier's movies I would suggest are "THE ARENA" and "THE BIG BIRD CAGE".

Review: I can accept that this is not the same kind of thing as Reservoir Dogs or Pulp Fiction, and I am not one of these people who requires graphic violence and bushels of profanity to make a film worthwhile. But I just don't think Jackie Brown is as well-done as RD and PF. The whole movie feels a bit off-balance and awkward, somehow -- probably because it is based off of a book. The usual Tarantino-isms seem clumsily injected and a bit out of place here, and individual scenes are not nearly as aesthetically tight as they were in RD and PF. It's still not a bad movie, but it's just not up to par with Taratino's previous films. As can seen by other reviews, though, it may appeal to some people who were previously unimpressed with Taratino.

Review: this my fave q t film. overall i think he is vastly overrated as a director.spike lee he ain't.his racial hangups border on archie bunker ville.but the acting and pacing of this film were solid for me.i thought pulp fiction was trash and his other films were late night hbo fare but this film gave him credit for me.but for a guy who has only 4 films out and some acting he gets a lot of love which except for this film i don't get.

Summary: Welcome in the genius mind of Quentin Tarentino!
Review: You just look at the first minutes of the film (great thing, there, right at the beginning...) and you already know that Tarentino is there to give you a shock, to change the limits of what you can call a "normal" or "possible" situation. The actors are just amazing. I was stunned by the fantastic cast and story of this impeccable movie. That was just superb Thanks a lot, Quentin. See ya!

Summary: Great Movie! Not Pulp Fiction 2 but still a great movie!!
Review: This is a truly dazzling film with a talented cast and a simple but perfectly executed plot (although I didn't really care for Robert DeNiro and thought he could have been better). The events shown in different perspectives make this film as interesting as it is intriguing. I loved the fact that Pam played the "strong calculating woman" role and not just a helpless pawn as I was expecting. Jackie Brown does not have the same hip feel that Pulp Fiction had but, to even attempt to compare the two would be an injustice. Jackie Brown stands strong on it's own. It's a bit long but watching Pan Grier and Samuel L. Jackson is a true pleasure. If you loved Pulp Fiction, you need to add this film to your collection, bottom line. My only complaint is that Samuel L. Jackson has not been nominated for an Oscar and I have not seen enough of Pam Grier in more films after Jackie Brown. It happened to John Travolta. Why hasn't it happened to Pam?

Summary: Proof that Tarantino is growing up
Review: Very strong cast and intriguing plot make sure that you watch this one to the end - and the end is good. It's not zany or saturated with violence, and all in all it has an understated, almost melancholy quality that makes it very appealing. Tarantino can probably do even better than this if he continues to resist the temptation to be childishly gun-happy. Only mild complaint about "Jackie Brown" is that it's a little too long.
