Summary: Sing Bond Some Other Day
Review: Let me start with some criticism:I find "M" too soft, caring and gentle hearted to be the head of British Intelligence.(She could be my Granny anytime though).John Cleese was the obvious choice after the sad passing of Desmond Lewellyn, but to me no one will ever be able to surpass Desmond's charmingly obnoxious personality. Now to the movie itself: This is another terrific Bond movie giving fans what they expect: International crises, explosive situations, exotic places, fast cars, cutting edge technology...It's all there. Then why the 3 stars? The answer should be obvious:The title song. This is easily the worst Bond movie song ever.Who on earth let Madonna get away with this? Bond saves humanity from the bad guys everytime, but the real enemy here is Madonna.

Summary: Not as bad as most think......
Review: I didn't find this movie to be the best in the Bond series, but also not the worst. Most fans addicted to Bond hated this one a lot. I say to those people to grow up. People hated the begining where Bond was a POW. We'll, Bond is human, anyone can get caught. If I amm not mistaken, other Bond movies he has been captured in. What makes this any different? If we hadn't have been caught, then there would have been no story, because of the person who betrayed him. I mean, he is trying to figure out who dunnit while trying to catch the North Korean traded in order to get Bond back. The gadgets are cool. The car isn't invisible just to let you know. It has those cameras to make it "blend in" with its surroundings. Hence, not invisable, camoflagued. The villians, were sadly though out though. It was obvious who the villian was to me, and you could predict what he was going to do. In my opinion, this Bond was a more realistic than most people said. This Bond shows that even the "worlds greatest spy" can even make mistakes. The DNA therepy has fake, although, you can have surgeries to change your appeance, just not as much as the movie does. I didn't mind Hally Berry as the Bond Girl, but, they could have made her character better than they did. I don't really like Madonna, but didn't hate the theme song. It was related to the movie in a certain way. Didn't like Madonna in the movie though, her part was truely pointless. The action in this movie was ok. Nice car chase scene! The movies villians and heroes were evenly matched in my opinion. All in all, not the best of the 20 movies, but not the worst. I loved this DVD a lot. Good features.

Summary: Fun, but...
Review: A great big-fat Bond flick that won't really dissappoint, even though most of it looks more like a videogame than a movie.

At the start of 'Day', Bond gets captured while on assignment in Korea. Impersonating an arms dealer who pays for sophisticated N. Korean weapons with 'conflict diamonds' (stones produced by warring African regimes to pay for their carnage, and banned by multi-national treaties), he nevertheless thwarts the weapons-for-gems scheme of a young and politically connected Col. Moon, and his henchman, a one-man army named Zao. Remaining defiant after 14 months of torture in a N. Korean jail, Bond finds himself released in a spy-swap, but the homecoming isn't happy. To get Bond, MI-6 and the CIA had to give up Zao ' who was captured after executing various acts of mass-destruction. As for Bond, everybody believes he cracked and was turned by the Communists ' M (Judi Dench) tells him as much as she prepares to ship him off to an evaluation center'in the Falklands (likely guarded by large, walking balloons that will only refer to Bond as 'Number 7'). When his bosses prove less interested in hunting down the mysterious mole that Bond believes betrayed him than they are in writing him off as a failure, Bond escapes and, uses his connections to hunt the mole himself. Learning of Zao's whereabouts (from the Red Chinese, who lost some of their own to Zao's killer sprees), Bond tracks him to a high-tech medical clinic in Cuba that specializes in genetic-reconstruction (a sort of reversal of cloning ' instead of using your DNA to make a complete copy of you, somebody else's DNA is jacked into you to turn you into a clone of somebody else). He also meets a charming huntress named Jinx (Halle Berry) with an agenda of her own. Narrowly missing Zao, Bond picks up the trail back at home, where he links Zao to traffic in conflict diamonds being sold by a young and mysterious millionaire named Gustave Graves ' a self-made man who never sleeps, and seems to have sprung out of anonymity only recently (echoing the origin of Hugo Drax from the original novel 'Moonraker'). Learning enough to satisfy M, Bond returns (unofficially) to the fold, where he will shadow Graves and Zao, and learn a secret that connects the tainted diamonds and North Korea to an ambitious orbiting energy generator ominously named 'Icarus'.

This was an ambitious Bond flick, but between the many homages to the other Bond flicks (see the trivia section here ' many went over my head) and the high-powered action scenes, 'Day' never rises higher than one of the Bond games on N64. It's like the guys writing the script were so determined to lard the script with in-references, that they forgot that they had to start out with a story. The many Bond-references themselves (like one putting a tied and bound Jinx under the ray of a laser inspired by a more famous scene in 'Goldfinger', and the idea of spaced-based weaponry) do less to remind you of how original the Bond plots once were than how recycled they have now become. The script tosses in many characters without having them interact longer than needed to exchange sexually tinged one-liners. On the plus side, the action keeps the story from getting slow, and Madonna's cameo is happily painless. Judi Dench is dependably icy as M (reversing an ominous trend towards the maternal from TWINE) and John Cleese comes into his own as Q. I caught this on DVD-WS (I can't believe anybody would prefer the full-screen version'of anything) but didn't check out any of the extras. Still fun.

Summary: Okay, but not really Bond
Review: I enjoyed this movie, but it wasn't really Bond. It lacked the humor of the other movies, I didn't mind the seriousness, however the plot was rather diffuse. If JB is going to go for revenge, make that the plot, don't wander around in Gadgetland (tho' it wouldn't be a Bond without the Gadgets!). My favorite part of the movie was the scene with Moneypenny at the end. I won't discuss it, would spoil the fun for those of you who haven't seen it!

Summary: Die Another Day--amazing and cool
Review: OK, when i first bought the DVD, i gotta admit that i thought it wasn't going to be good--especially after a disappointing "The World is Not Enough", probably like most people. However, i was wrong. The movie is totally amazing, not to mention that there are 2 DVDs with many information.

What really makes the movie good? James Bond as Pierce Brosna; Jinx and Miranda Frost played by Halle Berry and Rosamund Pike as the sexy Bond girls; a great villain, Gustav Graves, with a super weapon in space called Icarus; a great henchman, Zao, who was bald and with diamonds in his face that made him look awesome; a lot of actions sequences, such as the amazing swordfight with Bond and Graves (it's weird how Bond suddenly beats Graves when Graves had been practicing for a year and Bond is perhaps new); cool gadgets including an invisible car (ok, that isn't real, but it's cool though) and a ring that breaks glass; a good opening sequence with a high speed hovercraft chase and good theme song sang by Madonna; a good car chase on ice; a nice, exotic location in Iceland with snow, ice, glaciers, cliffs; and a good plot (although lacking unoriginality).

This, in my opinion, could be the best James Bond ever--maybe some others like Goldfinger is better. Here is the reason why i think that way. Ever since i got this dvd, i watched it like almost once everyday for many weeks. None of the other James Bond flicks have led me to watch them day after day. This one is special--it is a really good and exciting adventure which i would like to experience again and again. This story is mixed with Bond and action and for some weird reason i couldn't help but watch it repeatedly. Also, i think that there is not one boring part (maybe except the part with Bond lying on that bed with long hair and beard, but thankfully that wasn't long). That is probably why i liked to watch it over and over again and why i think this is one of the best movies in the series.

Anyway, if u are still unsatisfied due to plenty of bad reviews by some people, u can rent it if u want. My advice is to buy the dvd--its worth the money. But everyone has different opinions about this movie so do whatever u want.

By the way, like many people, i think the part with Bond surfing on the parachute over a tidal wave is silly. A word of advice (like made by many others) to the producers or writers or whatever: don't include too much CPI or whatever u call it. Even though the invisible car is cool, it's just not real. But despite all that, it's a really good Bond action flick.
(Yeah, i know it's weird how i think this is one of the best when it has plenty of things in this film i considered lame).

Summary: Good for an action movie but over glittzy.
Review: While this movie would be great if it was a regular action movie it doesnt have that magical bond feel to it.

CONS
1.It would be better if it was more lighthearted, like connery's and moore's bond.
2.Invisible car, c'mon
3.I wish that graves didnt have that electricution thing. It would have been better if he just genetically made himself really strong.
4.I dont really like the idea of bond being captured and tortured without getting out. It shows that he is really human but still if he had made an elaborate escape it would have been better. Also M would never take away bonds 00 number.
5. I guess it just has too much action and special effects. It seems too much like XXX. More old fashioned detective work would have been better.
6.I dont like that all the bond girls are now just women bonds. Make them more like the old days.
7.Slightly hard to follow plot
PROS
1.A lot of good action
2.A good twist
3.Halle barry is good
4.Good over the top scheme, unlike daltons movies
5.I guess when the first bonds were coming out the gadgets were just as unbelievable as the invisible car is now.

Overall its a good action movie but if it returned more to the old bond it would be GREAT.

Summary: This movie should have died before it was released
Review: This is, by far, the worst Bond film ever. Being an avid Bond fan, I have to say this is the most shallow piece of nonesense from Broccoli. This film should have been called XXX part deux...maybe Hot Shots part 3. This film's story is, well, hopelessly stupid. Once again we are reminded that Halle can only act in adult films. The dialogue is pre-school and the film is nothing but uninventive old Bond cliches repeated over and over with explosions in between with utter lack of any style, until you need 5 advils. Lee Tamahori directed Mulholland Falls...did anyone see how bad that film was? Barbara!!! get a real Bond director!!! ooohh poor Ian Fleming, he must be rolling in his grave.

Summary: Ugh!
Review: This movie really blows, I wanted to leave the theatre half way through but I was with a friend so I couldn't. What have they done to James Bond!?!?

Summary: Die Another Day Widescreen Special Edition DVD
Review: Die Another Day is one of Brosnan's best. It has great special effects and an awesome plot. This is the 20th James Bond 007 movie and is what I think one of the best Bond movies. This DVD has tons of special features that any Bond fan will love.
