Summary: If you want a good caper flick, see ENTRAPMENT
Review: This wasn't a bad film, but it wasn't very good either. The big problem is that the protagonist's motives are never revealed. He goes through all the trouble of stealing a priceless painting, but why? The film certainly offers no explanations. There are so many plot holes and unexplained events that I was left scratching my head at the end. Not to mention the fact that once the finale does come it is just as arbitrary as the rest of the film.

I won't give any of the plot away, but if you do see the film ask yourself this question after it's over: Based on the outcome of the caper, what was the point of the entire affair? It's all a big buildup to nothing.

That said, I have to admit that Renne Russo is wonderful in her part and just about the sexiest thing I've seen in a major Hollywood movie in years. I hope she gets more parts like this. The rest is pretty, but a waste of time.

For a better heist film see ENTRAPMENT. It's a lot of nonsense, too, but at least it adds up at the end. Besides, it has Sean Connery so you can't lose...

Summary: Funny, whity, entertaining and fun!
Review: this movie was such a blast. Pierce Brosnan was great(how can he not be) and Renee Ruso was sexy and georgeous. There is lots of plot twists, and it keeps you mesmorized from the first moment. My only wish is that there were more films that kept me this giddy with excitement. A+, 10, 5 stars, thumbs up!

Summary: Brilliant! Tons of fun!
Review: When I saw this film for the first time, I was practically jumping up and down in my seat with excitement as I watched the end. It is definitely a "brain over brawn" movie - extremely clever and witty while the sexual tension between Russo and Brosnan is palpable. Very rare that a remake is so good! I hardly ever go back for second viewings in movie theatres, but I did for this film!

Summary: The most stylish film since the original
Review: It was hard to see how the original could be bettered and perhaps it hasn't, but it has certainly been equalled in a modern version. Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway have contempary peers in Brosnan & Russo and the direction and effects of the film are just stylish as the earlier version. The original now looks a little dated with its split screen effects and the clothes of the time, but it still manages to look good. What is wonderful about this, well I suppose it is a remake, is that is not a remake. It stands on its own and comparison with the original is not relevant, to be familiar with the original is a bonus as there are a number of very clever and subtle connections made, even to the "Windmills of you mind" theme running though a number of scenes, most notably the very sensual dance which replaces the only erotic chess game I have ever seen. The writers and director must have had a soft spot for the Thomas Crown character who gets off with a much happier ending than the McQueen version. This is also destined to be a classic film that one can watch again and again and I suspect pick up new subtleties at each viewing.

Summary: Incredible!
Review: This movie was so fantastic. I went and saw it 3 times in the theatre, which I have never done for any other movie. Brosnan is sexy, and a gentleman. I only hope that I look that fabulous at 40+ as Rene Russo. She is an incredibly intelligent, and formidable actress. You go girl!

Summary: The most amazing movie I have ever seen
Review: The Thomas Crown Affair is my all time favourite movie. Pierce Brosnan was great as usual, playing the charming, sophisticated gentelman, oh and of course very rich. Rene Russo did a fabulous job as well. She did a great job of playing out her character's insecurities, very believable. The plot was great. I loved how everything unfolded so well, and I could not believe what was really happening, it was all so amazing. Quite a surprise. It was a great mystery/romance film. The best!!

Summary: Well worth seeing
Review: I saw this at the cinema and went back for a second look. This was one of the coolest films of the late summer (in the UK): Brosnan is in 007 mode as the eponymous hero, a likeable art-thief/international businessman. Russo is Hot with a capital H and takes her clothes off to boot. Some great set pieces make this a fun movie and a must-have DVD

Summary: Russo At Her Best!
Review: I won't go into the plot of this movie, most buyers will already know it anyway. The DVD transfer is superb. This is the only movie I've ever seen where I liked Pierce Brosnan and thought he was cast properly. What makes this movie for me, though, is the performance of Ms. Russo. She is the perfect combination of sex and brains. Her wardrobe is amazing and she knows how to wear it! There are some slow parts to this movie, particularly the tropical part, but overall it's a keeper.

Summary: Brosnan & Russo are great!
Review: Although I must admit I was a little disappointed with this film, it still goes down as one of the best "robbery" films I ever saw. I suppose I thought there would be more actual robbery involved, but the "Die Hard" director carefully tries to keep the actual museum scenes more character driven than big action. And it works! He allows Brosnan to actually "act" during the robbery, which is rare in todays action films. What really make the movie however is the on-screen chemistry of Rene Russo and Pierce Brosnan. Russo steals the show playing out of typecast as an over the top bounty hunter in the art world. Her prey: Brosnan as a very rich amateur thief who steals not for money, but for fun. Russo's scenes with Dennis Leary as the police detective are also prove her acting abilities, and the fact that this film was incredibly well cast. As long as you don't begin by thinking you're going to see a high-pace action film like 'Entrapment", you'll enjoy this film for the light drama, great acting or fun art-robbery plot that it has.

Summary: I'm a sucker for romance and intrigue (shhh)
Review: I am such an avid movie watcher that I rarely feel inclined to watch a movie more than once. Well, let me admit to not only having bought the DVD, but to having watched it numerous times!

I love the sound track of the movie and will be doing my own remake--going Duo Discus glider riding with my significant other ;).

The love scene is wonderful, the chemistry between the actors works like a MIT Lab experiment and the whole movie is simply spot on.

I recommend it highly!
