Summary: A rare treat, not what I expected
Review: I thought this was a good film...not at all what I expected. The movie was full of supsense...just when I thought it was going one way it went another. I also enjoyed how they weaved the love story in, how again you really never know how or what the other is planning. Both the scenes for the theft and the "return" of the painting we well written. I'm one of those people who watches a movie, I think a little of what certain things mean, but try not to really guess. I was really impresses on how Crown managed to get the painting back in the musuem, and how he managed to hide it. I would probably never guessed it. The ending, even as predictable as it was...I am happy the way it ended. I would not have been happy with them being seperate...the whole movie you want them to get together.

Summary: The Thomas Crown Affair
Review: I truly enjoyed this movie. It was witty and clever and totally adult. Rene Russo was fun and Pierce Brosnan was up for the game. With so many videos that are predictable and mundane, it's nice to see one with a spunky sense of humor and a good dose of fun.

Summary: Yuppie Escapism
Review: OK, it's not art - although it does involve the theft of art (and it's important not to get the two things confused) but it is fun and a pure vehicle for Yuppie escapism - Thomas Crown on a $100K cat boat, Thomas Crown in a glider, on the golf course, on a beautiful island, having sex with wild abandon ... and on some days, when you're not reading Socrates & Plato, that's not only enough, it's just what you need. I pride myself on not being an intellectual lightweight (most days) but I liked it and I'll buy the video when the price drops out of the stratosphere.

Summary: Excelent Movie - Clever Plot
Review: I enojoyed this DVD very much. The plot is one of a kind. Though Rene Russo is getting old, and the DVD contains few special features, I recomend this DVD strongly.

Summary: Rene Russo couldn't save it!
Review: I was really surprised at the positive reviews for this movie. Considering the trailers and the actors I was expecting a treat. Instead, there was only a vague nausea and a deep dissapointment. Universally, the characters were so unbelievably stupid that all the beauty and grace and costuming in the world could not salvage this film.

The entire plot hinged on all involved characters doing exactly the stupidest possible thing, even if it was a matter of seconds after saying "That would be stupid." I am kind of happy with the fairy-tale ending. By breeding with each other it is unlikely the children will be smart enough to survive to adulthood. The idiocy could die out in one generation. In a movie universe...

Summary: Romantic, Witty, and Interesting.
Review: The movie can be truly appreciated as a comic relief in a world where power and money corrupts, but in this movie, presented as a humorous and charming chase between a thief and an investigator.

There is perhaps no point to the movie, but that is overshadowed by the excellent humanistic story line. It truly reflects the genius of the writers behind the scene, and I personally thought it was wonderful.

I know people who liked it, and I know people who didn't like it so much, but since this is my take, I enjoyed the movie. A lot.

If you are spontaneous, and enjoys a challenging sport, I think you will find The Thomas Crown Affair a delightful movie to keep.

Summary: Wonderful
Review: I saw this in the theater and was very impressed. It is a very mature movie; a nice change. And it always kept you guessing. I was glad to see a movie that wasn't like all the others.

Summary: The Hotest Flick of 1999
Review: If you like films chalked full of steamy romance amd intrigue this film is for you! The story follows a wealthy business man/amateur art thief(Brosnan) who has nothing better to do than tackle his latest challange, whether it be a painting worth 100,000,000 dollars, or a sexy female bounty hunter (Russo) determined to get her man. The best part of the film is its twists, which are guarenteed to give you an ending you won't be expecting! Can a woman trust a theif? It isn't an Academy Award Winner, but for entertainment it is a spicy must see!

Summary: Want to see James Bond taking himself seriously?
Review: I think most people like this movie because it's BEAUTIFUL.Yes, male and female models dressed in gorgeous outfits (sometimes naked) drive outrageously expensive cars, they live in urban luxury or take a break at the Jamaican villa (owned by one of them), talk about true llove, art and megabucks. It's all VERY, VERY BEAUTIFUL! Anyone wants to be in their shoes for a couple of hours.

But what does it have to do with the moviemaking in the levels from Kent cigarette commercials and up? The movie too artificial to resemble the real life and to pass for a caper it's lacking that twinkle, the tongue in a cheek quality of the genre's masterpieces.

It seems that most commercially successful James Bond wants to be taken seriously. It's known that Mr. Brosnan is of a rather humble origin - there is nothing wrong with that, I am not a British Lord myself - but that explains a lot.

What we see is a mega-budget home movie of the leading actor who is also a producer.
